just thought of a challenge idea (maybe for a milestone). It'd be a remix of your top 15 challenges (one for each rememberance), where you could randomize for each boss what restrictions you use. 👀
Glintstone Key is totally part of a quest! Thops tells you that you need to get it, and you have to access the academy to get the second Glintstone Key, which you need for him to move from his starting location, which is the only way to get the spell version of Thops' Barrier. The spell is for sure a quest reward, so anything that's required to proceed the quest must be allowed imo.
I mean technically anything you get from defeating the bosses in Leyndell can be considered a quest reward or quest step because you can’t otherwise get in there without accepting Melina’s accord
I mean she ends the accord when you enter leyndell until after morgott is killed then she makes a new one to go to the forge so really everything until the forge is a quest
Cant you just not accept her accord though? You dont get the horse but you can still progress. It's been a while since ive started a new game and I dont remember the dialogue exactly so take that with a grain of salt
I looked up a Reddit guide on how to have the most complete playthrough of Elden ring. There are so many fights and quests I had never even heard of until I followed the guide
The Talisman Pouch is ABSOLUTELY allowed to be used for this run and should be considered a quest reward no matter how you slice it. Because you CANNOT continue the main story line without killing him and he just so happens to give a talisman pouch upon death.
Mental acrobatics like that are why this is one of my less-liked Bushy videos. What is or isn't a quest reward is really dubious and anyone could justify most of the items in the game either way. It really just seemed like a "quest reward" was whatever was convenient at the time. Buying stuff from the Twin Husks or w/e in the Roundtable Hold is definitely not a quest and a boss reward is really, really pushing it.
@@eXJonSnow Then again, if the story had not brought you there, you would have not gotten the item. Bosses usually give you their rememberences, since this is Godfrey's Astral projection; it just gives you a pouch.
@@Nadayan Then any item from a boss remembrance counts as a "quest item." As does the equipment you can get from them. That's the exact kinda thing I didn't like about this video, since you can justify soo many things that the "difficulty" of the playthrough essentially becomes low healing and not fully upgraded weapons. I think it's fair to say that even the Flask shouldn't be useable, because it just appears in your inventory after the Grafted Scion. What quest is that? Don't get me wrong, I love Bushy's videos. This one just seemed really meh, with a very undefined challenge.
@@eXJonSnow I was going to say Boss Rememberence items aren't earned from killing them, it's earned from trading the Rememberence in. It would have to be earned from a drop. The reason why I say the bosses can be quest rewards is because that's how they did it in DS3 and so forth. NPCs drop items upon their death when quest completed, and so were bosses because they were actually a part of quests.

TECHNICALLY speaking, if the finger reader crone you find right before finding the lift of dectus as an NPC, the dialogue she gives tells the player about the Dectus Medallion as a way of progressing the game by gaining access to Altus Plateau, so depending on how you look at it that could totally be a quest to obtain both sides of the medallion.
plus melina asks you to take her to the capital, that combined with the finger maiden wouldve definitely made me say the dectus medallion was allowed, but hey i guess that just proves i have less patience than bushy lol
Bushy probably disagrees with me on this but imo Hewg has his own questline to get a max level weapon and Melina explicitly tells you as part of her quest to get to Leyndell to level up, so I think both are still within completing quests. Edit: Just saw you are doing that but I noticed you didn't summon for the Radahn quest, which I think goes against using quest rewards since Alexander has to be let into the fight and Blaidd tells you he'll be there to help you fight.

It would be interesting if you did a reverse of this run where you can ONLY use items you get from killing things such as npcs (this means most bell bearings and stones are off limits but every other bell bearing is fine and dandy), certain hostile enemies can drop smithing stones so it would still be viable and you would only have 2 talismen pouches like this run
Technically, the dectus medallion halves are part of Rya’s quest! Though she recommends you take the Magma Wyrm path, she has a unique part of her quest if you just get the medallions(she’ll appear near the lift rather than in Lux Ruins). I’m not sure if you would count it, but since it’s for my girl Rya, I definitely would!
Bro, beating Godfrey is apart of Melina’s quest, along with most of the other main bosses. Killing Radahn is apart of Ranni’s, killing Rykard is apart of that spirits quest, and so on
This was a pretty good run. However, if you wanted to, you could've gotten the Great Stars weapon from the invader in Altus Plateau that's part of Varré's Questline and used that as a weapon.
It’d still contradict the rules as you don’t need to do milicent’s quest for the apostle to be there and drop his weapon, same as the AoW dropped by the godrick knight in kennet’s castle
@@nathanjora7627 I think you might have that confused with the Godskin Peeler that the apostle drops - the event they're referring to was added in patch... 1.06 I think? As a way for offline players to do White Mask Varré's questline. Once you get to the part where you'd normally need to do 3 invasions, you can visit the Seetheblood - or is it Writheblood? - Ruins in Altus Plateau, near the bridge that leads to Mt. Gelmir, with the Sanguine Noble in the basement. Around the ruins there'll be a red summon sign that you can use to invade a new NPC, who drops the Great Stars. It's a pretty solid heavy weapon, and it even heals on hit! There's another one that you can get from a traveling cart nearby - which used to be the only way to get it.
@@justcthanks4639 OP's comment says "modified", so I'm pretty sure he changed his message, because I don't think I'm blind to the point of confusing milicent and altus and godskin with varre and great stars... But then again, I am, so eh ^^" And yeah don't worry I know what questline the (new ?) comment is referring to.
yes technically the knight is always at the fort, but Keneth asks you to "take back the fort" and if you only kill the knight, Keneths quest progress so you are right, but also technically he is also part of the quest so... I don't know. Regardless I think you made the right call because with that ash of war alone you could probably finish the entire game and that wouldn't have given awesome content for you tube :D
16:02 Latenna: "You may see me as Disposable and Expendable, but I am forever Loyal to you and will always be there to help." Tarnished: "Perhaps I have treated you harshly"
Finishing Ranni's quest would have given you Dolores Sleeping Arrow summon from the now-deceased Pidia , would have helped with Godskin Duo, I think. Also, must say -- really enjoy your content dude. Well edited and narrated, I don't always have the time to watch streams, but appreciate the effort that goes into the YT vids.
Wouldn't Patches(whip he gives you) and Guraanq (items and incants) also count? Even the Kamehameha would be a quest "reward" for finding the guy to progress the Sellia questline. She requests that you continue learning as you are her apprentice, so its still a quest reward.
your voice is very soothing and I just enjoy listening to your voice. It's very nice to have as background. Your challenges are also insane and fun to watch.
Just curious, wouldn't the grafted greatsword also count as a quest as Edgar does mention afterwards that the greatsword being in your possession is probably the best possible thing meaning you did progress something.
I love this idea and I did it myself like two months back. I have to say through you get the flask when you awaken and not when you talk to Melanie so I don't think you were be allowed to use them. But if you used thr golden seed, you could have gotten one flask which I needed to complete the final boss
Pretty sure getting the 2 hosslow petal whip (1 from the assassination quest and the other dropped by juno after he dies defending jar bairn) would have made both the godskin duo and malenia fight much easier. Also if you gain an ash of war trough a quest wouldn't that allow you to change the affinity of the weapon you put it on ?
The erdsteel dagger is actually really fun to use if you get two of them and use them with sacred scaling. They get both physical holy magic damage with it's scaling.
Can your next one be using only Remembrance Items (including those unlocked by defeating them such as Radahn's armor)? It seems like it could be a fun one.
I think a loophole can be considered where anything you get from killing bosses that you HAVE to kill in order to progress the main questline can also count, since it's still a questline.
0:39 I'm early on, but I'm wondering if you're going to count things like Astel's remembrance for an item from a quest? After all, you can actually fight Astel without ever meeting Ranni (there's a coffin in Deeproot Depths that transports you to where Renna's Rise also teleports you). However, it is still crucial to kill him to complete the quest, as you can not reach the Altar while he's alive. So, does he count as something you get from completing a quest step? Based on what you say about the Blood Knight, I assume the answer will be no.
3:22 Well, no they technically are. You can make an argument that they are a part of the Volcano Manor quest, as they are, along with killing Makar, one of two options for completing Scout Ryas quest. She even tells you about the lift, although only gives directions on killing Makar, and doesn’t give you the medallions, so I see how that is a better and more rule aligned option. So they are a part of a quest, but aren’t necessarily given by it, kind of only half required for it, and so . . . Kind of a wibbly wobbly situation.
Seeing Wolf's Assault so many times in a row made me realize - it's exactly like one of Maliketh's attack, just swap frost explosion for Destined Death. It's a nice touch
I love these challenge videos, they're so creative. If you're looking for a challenge Idea I have one: ldn Ring (Elden Ring but no E) You can choose how bonkers you want it to be. Like no E in talsimans, weapons, consumables, or everything with E isnt allowed (Stats, Locations, Every item with E).
Technically speaking, Getting Malenia to the forge is a quest... and so everything from the start to then is part of her quest. Actually.... several people tell you to become eldenlord.
You could gather all the death root and get the crimson and cerulean assassin's daggers, it is part of a quest so that would fall under that I believe.
The twin maiden husks are technically not an NPC, but they're kinda more of a map feature that lets you buy stuff from them, like Bernals sword in in the volcano manor. But I do reckon that the thing about bell bearings is kinda fair.
You can always tell a soul veteran in a game... Instead of the game being challenging enough. The have to make up a challenge to make it even harder and beat ALL 15 remembrance bosses. Bravo, guy. For pissing absolute excellence.
Moongrum is literally the definition of "I am Weird but I am Proud". And it'sl always funny to see, lmfao Edit: Also, the "F**king hit the child" was both hilarious, and concerning, lol
So, he considers giving bell bearing as quests, but says the Dectus medallion isn’t used to progress quests, like as though Rya doesn’t wait until after you use the lift to invite you to Volcano Manor? Intriguing 🧐
You don't HAVE to use the lift to get Rya to appear there. As long as you make it to Altus she'll be there. So no, it's not technically part of the quest line since going the long way will do it.
@@robbybevard8034 but she does tell you about the dectus medallion as a way to get to altus, so she really does give it as an option. plus a finger maiden also tells you about the medallion as well
You don't need to have Boggart killed unless you want his Seedbed Curse for the Dung Eater ending. I managed to spare the prawn bro and get the Dung Eater pupped all in one playtrough by just letting him be at his shack in the swamp
Good run, the only thing I feel you didn’t need to do, was to use the Nagakiba. You are already really good, so I feel like Katanas trivialize things a bit too much in the early game.
Lionel is 370 lbs. of pure tungsten. Also, spirit tuning is technically a quest, so the entire time he could’ve been increasing his spirits levels to help him. Based on his rules, it does count cause he has to talk to the girl and the smith a couple times for her to start enabling spirit tuning
ik this is a joke but to be fair melina gives you the power to turn runes into strength as a incentive to take her to the capital and later to the forge and to become elden lord, and to do that you need to kill things and collect runes so id say using runes to level up is a quest reward
In all fairness several quests do give out great rewards, either directly (Blaidd, Ranni, Sellen, Alexander and Yura in particular) or from bosses that must be defeated through the quest itself. With that being said, the biggest hurdles to this challenge are the initial setup, being unable to access the physick, and the inability to upgrade flasks. Apart from that the actual amount of things that are theoretically "necessary" to progress all the quests in the game is still quite broad, so it's not really as limiting as one might initially suspect.
It's also possible to access the altus plateau via patches. Progress his quest until he's in liurnia and talk to him to learn about the iron maiden. Progress through the tunnels without going through the manor and after a boss fight with two iron maidens, you'll get spat out into Altus
@juscbh BHUVSDSDVBHJWSDV you also don’t need to talk to anyone to go into Altus through the side tunnel. A Finger Maiden may suggest it to you, but it’s not technically a quest. That “it can be done anyways” reasoning is way too convoluted.
You can justify the key into Raya Lucaria by considering Thop's quest. I would personally have counted the tear from the invader that mitigates NIHIL as being part of a quest. Good on you for not needing it, though!
Grear challenge, loved it. By the way, you can get Edgar's halberd without doing Irina's quest if you just kill him in Castle Mourne. So you can either use Bloody Slash or can't use the halberd since they're both enemies that drop the item regardless of their quest. The knight is actually more important since you are required to kill him to progress the quest, while you can just ignore Esgar the Revenger after Irina's quest is done
I think the important note is that it's not Irina's Quest, but Edgar's, which results in the halberd. And if you allow killing Edgar indiscriminately just for his weapon, which is an action that doesn't have anything to do with anyone's quest, then you're just opening the door to using any loot from any enemy and the run becomes moot
Fun fact: right after you give dung eater the potion, wait until he stops talking, then if you kill him, you get his armor. His body won't show up in seluvis' secret room but you can still buy the puppet. Win win!
I never realized the Rykard also used *the one* stock "beast roar" sound until this video. That one cry thats used in like 5 different movies and 20 different videogames, it's even used in pokemon at some point, that's neat!

But then again, I am, so eh ^^"
And yeah don't worry I know what questline the (new ?) comment is referring to.
The real challenge of this run was coming to an agreement with Twitch Chat of what defines as a quest or not
yes technically the knight is always at the fort, but Keneth asks you to "take back the fort" and if you only kill the knight, Keneths quest progress so you are right, but also technically he is also part of the quest so... I don't know. Regardless I think you made the right call because with that ash of war alone you could probably finish the entire game and that wouldn't have given awesome content for you tube :D
I became a member just to watch this while I eat dinner, love ya busy
Hahaha idiot
16:02 Latenna: "You may see me as Disposable and Expendable, but I am forever Loyal to you and will always be there to help."
Tarnished: "Perhaps I have treated you harshly"
This run will help me get through my night shift. Masterfully done as always!
Fun fact: The unsheathe skill without any FP still does more damage and has more stance pressure than a charged heavy
You sure?
@@stevenxiong1388 Yep, I tested it
Have to say that you should had been able to use all the talisman pouches. I mean, the main quests is still a quest after all
How you can play this game so much and still don't know that the glintstone key is a quest item is beyond me.
“And she didn’t sign a prenup, which lets me take the moonlight great sword.” I died 🤣
Yeah I'd count it as a quest item since protection of the sword gets Ed to move faster to his daughter since it was the reason he stayed...
The Whetblades, remember, you need them to change affinities. They're not quest rewards, I think.
21:30 - I was not expecting Moongrum to hide on top of a door, and that was just hilarious.
Nice vid! Thx!
The issue is defeating a remembrance boss without a weapon
I think a loophole can be considered where anything you get from killing bosses that you HAVE to kill in order to progress the main questline can also count, since it's still a questline.
I love watching bushy's elden ring challenge videos
Edit: love you lots bushy!
13:00 I swear Latenna's massive damage is her undoing, she is always taking the aggro when she can't take more than 3 hits.
14:11 if you see this in 1.75x, the strikes will perfectly sound like the beat of "We Will You Rock You"
Did my own challenge run to this video: drink whenever bushy says “we love to see it” and try not to get drunk…. I failed
I mean, TECHNICALLY the main quest is a quest
3:22 Well, no they technically are. You can make an argument that they are a part of the Volcano Manor quest, as they are, along with killing Makar, one of two options for completing Scout Ryas quest. She even tells you about the lift, although only gives directions on killing Makar, and doesn’t give you the medallions, so I see how that is a better and more rule aligned option.
So they are a part of a quest, but aren’t necessarily given by it, kind of only half required for it, and so . . . Kind of a wibbly wobbly situation.
I just started, but I hope you got at least one extra flask, since you get a golden seed from delivering the chrysalids momento to Roderika.
Edit: oof
42:25 is such a relatable rant :D I know I've been there
42:48 370 pounds => 167,83 Kg
thanks!
22:01 "bro hit the damn child" best thing ive heard all day, couldnt stop laughing.
I’m dying I got a save the child as when I used the time stamp 😂
I hope to become half as good as this dude I actually started streaming because of him. Yesterday was my first stream.
Keep going bro! Maybe you can catch viewers some day ;)
Seeing Wolf's Assault so many times in a row made me realize - it's exactly like one of Maliketh's attack, just swap frost explosion for Destined Death.
It's a nice touch
Your videos always make my day. Great work, as always!
I love these challenge videos, they're so creative.
If you're looking for a challenge Idea I have one: ldn Ring
(Elden Ring but no E)
You can choose how bonkers you want it to be.
Next video idea: Play Elden ring but you can’t lock on.
If you talk to Rogier earlier in the quest, you get his +8 Rapier, which can be a really nice early game Int weapon.
And it'sl always funny to see, lmfao
Edit: Also, the "F**king hit the child" was both hilarious, and concerning, lol
Run idea: Pizza boy.
You can only use the pizza slicer weapon or knives, and you only get 30-45 minutes between bosses to prepare and get to them.
@@theminecraftjester1738 Boggart won't be there if you don't talk to him after buying the necklace thus saving him from Fecal Feaster
Smh invalid run, leveled up with non-quest runes.
ik this is a joke but to be fair melina gives you the power to turn runes into strength as a incentive to take her to the capital and later to the forge and to become elden lord, and to do that you need to kill things and collect runes so id say using runes to level up is a quest reward
33:34 That is a really epic music sync especially with the action happening, too bad the fight didn't continue with the riposte
I’d make the argument that roderika leaving behind that golden seed is still technically a part of her quest, but I respect your restraint
You can justify the key into Raya Lucaria by considering Thop's quest. I would personally have counted the tear from the invader that mitigates NIHIL as being part of a quest. Good on you for not needing it, though!
But the Physik flask isn't rewarded as a quest item
@@Klayperson I think that he allows himself to do things as part other quests, though.
Made me actually burst out fucking laughing 42:22
42:38 He got you with the spin move, you went to the side of him lmao
“He is THREE hundred and seventy POUNDS of pure THICC!” Has gotta be my favorite line from any of these 😂Beautiful work as always, sir.
Fun fact: right after you give dung eater the potion, wait until he stops talking, then if you kill him, you get his armor. His body won't show up in seluvis' secret room but you can still buy the puppet. Win win!
34:22 Oh God no! Dangit! I was cheering for you:p

"Bro hit the damn child"
-Bushy 2022
I never realized the Rykard also used *the one* stock "beast roar" sound until this video. That one cry thats used in like 5 different movies and 20 different videogames, it's even used in pokemon at some point, that's neat!
Idk what you mean Bushy, Lionel perfectly dodged and countered your move. Never have I seen a man that round move so elegantly and fluidly like water. Truly, a get good moment.
I'd say using the Great Stars you get from invading that guy for Varre's questline was probably also within the rules
Most fun I ever had, was getting the Nagakiba before any boss.with doing Yuras Questline, because killing him directly was far to easy ;)
Moongrum is always such a highlight of your runs
