  • Learn what NOT to do with Cricut Infusible Ink as we test out ALL the crazy things! Learn more about Infusible Ink at jennifermaker.com/cricut-infu...
In this video we test 11 different Cricut Infusible Ink scenarios to find out what happens!
    1. What if we use a folded towel instead of a pressing mat?
    2. What if we don't pre-heat our material before putting Infusible Ink on it?
    3. What if we don't use cardstock to protect our pressing mat?
    4. What if we move our heat source when pressing an Infusible Ink transfer sheet?
    5. What if we press twice with two different Infusible Ink transfer sheets?
    6. What if we write directly on our material with Infusible Ink pens or markers?
    7. What if we don't press our Infusible Ink long enough?
    8. What if we re-use an Infusible Ink transfer sheet again?
    9. What if we draw on a transfer sheet with an Infusible Ink pen or marker?
    10. What if we press two sides of an Infusible Ink transfer sheet separately?
    11. What if we use a household iron instead of an EasyPress or heat press?
If you want to know what happens when we try other T-shirts, check out this post and video: jennifermaker.com/cricut-infu...

This was fun and informative Jennifer. I thank you for doing all these tests like you did. I was really surprised by the iron-I did not expect it to work and the moving of the Easy Press I really expected a lot of ghosting. Thanks to Greg for all his help with the testing as well. It would be nice to have a product like this to work on cotton since a lot of people prefer cotton as polyester is just so hot to wear. Especially if you are an outside worker. People are wanting to go back to more natural things. I so love this idea of the infusible ink though, just wish it worked on cotton. Again, thanks for all the tutorials and testing Jennifer. I do want to try this one day soon. Hugs, Brenda

This was full of information and it was so FUN 'doing what we aren't supposed to do' and testing the waters -what a terrific idea! I especially appreciate your summing it up at the end where we can see them all together! Greg was a lot of fun, too, with the note he slipped in there. This was SO AWESOME! Thank you!!!

I know this video is 3 years old almost but if you still have the beat up iron you maybe able to clean it up pretty easily with stainless steel appliance cleaner on a paper towel (small amount sprayed on it). My mom got some sort of adhesive on my good Rowenta iron and I was able to clean it nicely. Irons smooth as butter again! Also thank you for all the trial and error and successes on this video!!!!

I have to tell you, you are the best teacher ever! You are very descriptive and informative without overdoing it to the point of being boring. I am brand new the cricut scene. I have already learned so much watching your videos and have so many new projects I want to try now. I can't wait! Thank you for doing everything you do. Now for my question.... Do you think a quilting press board would be an equivalent to the Cricut easy press mat? Mine is homemade with a small cut sheet of 1/2" plywood, 2 layers of 100% cotton batting, and a decorative layer of 100% cotton fabric.

First, I love that Greg helps you during these videos. Great job Greg! I have learned a lot from your videos and recently gave your name to a friend who just got a cricut. So just a few notes, When working with everyday iron on, if you move the easy press it moves the items that are trying to be transferred. When I first started with the infusible ink i did not have any cardstock so i used an old white dish cloth to cover my mat that worked fine. Question, have you tried to use the easypress mini yet?

I keep it for when the internet isn’t workingFirst I just brought the infusible ink with the. Idea of printing words on a flag I am making my friend for her porch. Then I brought the Cricut Maker after seeing you etch with it. Then I brought the the 10x12 Easy Press after seeing it.. now I want some ironing Matt’s and more blades. I watch because I didn’t know the difference in infusible ink and iron on materials. Thanks for all your help!

I love your videos because you're so straightforward and precise without a lot of filler or odd camera angles AND you don't skip steps thinking we already know. So for that, I thank you! But my question is, when we have to use laser paper for a print and cut, can we still use an ink jet printer?

    • @maryr.5898
      @maryr.5898 Рік тому +1

I wouldn't unless the paper was designated for both inkjet and laser. In my experience, because the coating on laser paper didn't absorb the ink properly properly or dry fully, my resulting images were smeared.

Thanks so much for doing these videos! Seriously- LiFE SAVER ... I’m expecting to get along of backlash and judgy for this comment but I am a self confessed lazy cricicut user 🤦🏼‍♀️ I run a business as well as shift work as a health professional... so I just don’t have the time to look into how to do all the projects properly and own every ‘Cricut’ product... however I can share that yes Infusable ink works with an iron! Mine is 220 watts and I just turn it up and works fine.. (It’s accually the only thing the iron gets used for!lol) also when using the infusable ink and I feel like a corner of my design for example didn’t quite come out as vibrant or strong as I hoped.. I simply cut back the transfer tape, replace the transfer paper back onto the corner or shape that i feel needs more ink- then I use the top of my iron to ‘re transfer’ extra ink into that particular corner or spot. Your videos are amazing and that you for taking the time to show me the proper way to do projects but I’ve learn that’s there is usually an alternative ‘home made’ ‘make shift’ kinda way to achieve what I want, thank you again so so much for your videos and advise because lord knows I don’t have the instruction to read instructions 😂

Should the t-shirts be washed prior to heat pressing and can you use colored card stock instead of white? Very informative. Thank you so much for doing all these videos. 💕

Cricut recommends that you do NOT wash the shirts before applying infusible ink! You can use any color cardstock you want, but there is a chance that your blank will take on the color of the cardstock, as the ink converts into a gas during the heat transfer process and it could bond with adjacent items or layers. Butcher paper and cardstock act as a barrier to protect your blank, Cricut EasyPress Mat, and Cricut EasyPress heat plate from unwanted transfer. The paper also helps capture any moisture that is released during the pressing process. So, I would just be safe and use while cardstock! 😉🥰

What if you take the infusible in pens or makers and try to enhance the color of an already used transfer sheet?

Can you re-use the infusible ink markers, because I iron one today and there was a lot of ink left.

Usually brown butcher paper is waxed. I have found that the unwaxed is sometimes referred to as "white Kraft butcher paper"

Hi I enjoy watching your videos and I count this one very interesting thank you for doing this one it was very help full. I was wondering if you can share with me what size your easy press is it it looks like the mini easy press. When I look for it and see in ads they look pretty large i don’t want a large one. Thank you

I Use the EasyPress 2 because your heat source needs to get up to at least 390°F for the heat transfer to work. 💗

I use parchment paper all the time with my heat press with no problem but it does come in different thicknesses. The stuff I buy at the dollar store is thin. The stuff I buy at Walmart or Publix is thicker.
