John Deere engine rebuild | Installing liners | Rebuild kit

Finally the 3130 engine is starting to go back together! In this video i will be installing the cylinder liners, these are wet liners. This means the coolant is directly in contact with the cylinder liner.
I have tried to explain the best I can how to do this (As I am learning how to myself as well)

Best practice would be to use a permanent marker to mark liner to block so that after you have measured protrusion and you put the seal on you get the liner in the same spot you measured it at. Used to enjoy building JD engines, really satisfying when you get them running again.

You are probably right yes, I think the machining of the new parts has come on a long way from when it was first built, as they were all very close to one another in the measurements 🤔 I can imagine it is! I'm enjoying the build anyway as it is something that I like doing 😊

Enjoyable vid as always Carl, and can't wait to hear it running, and honestly mate I would be fine watching hour long vids on the rebuilds of both John Deere's if you ever feel like posting one's that long that is.

Thank you 👌 neither can I, if I'm honest! Well, I'm uploading as I go otherwise there wouldn't be a video for a while, because I have other workshop jobs on aswell so it's just filling the gaps really 🤷‍♂️ but thanks for the feedback though! 😊
