FYI: the young actress who plays Pedro's daughter is Thandiwe Newton's daughter. I didn't realize it when I first watched it, but after learning that, it was like, "Oh, duh" because she looks *exactly* like her mom.
This got my dad when we watched it, we've also watched West World, and since it starts in the past he assumed there would be a timeskip and Thandiwe would play her later.
this show takes you on an emotional rollercoaster in every episode from first to last. it's full of beautiful stories of people surviving the apocalypse & the monsters that caused it. it's very much not an easy watch, every episode takes a toll on you. but for all that it's very much worth it, all the pieces are handcrafted to perfection.
I still remember to this day the "intro" where Sarah dies. I was shocked as it happend when I played the game ages ago. Still gets me today. Love the reaction! :)

this series is for me probably one of the best tv series over the last 10 years pedro pascal and bella ramsy's chemistry and acting skills just make the whole thing come together, this series will really test your feeling's.. as a Father and parent i can tell you this series has some Devastating moments that had me crying both in sadness and in anger.

Love all the little details in this episode. Like the Muslim watchmaker couple being more tuned in and anxious due to the outbreak starting in a country they are much more likely to follow the news from.
I bought a PS5, a nice gaming monitor and both games of "The last of us" because I was so impressed with this film adaptation .... I also watched a lot of gamer playthrough videos on UA-cam of the gameplay . It's always great when someone gifts the opportunity to share this show with them! That being said, there will likely be many people going out of their way to make know their disdain for two episodes in particular. Hopefully, they've all moved on to obsessing their negativity elsewhere by now. As these people operate, however, they tend to feed off of the opportunity to shit post whenever they can. It'll be interesting to observe how that all plays out. I'm excited to go on the ride, nonetheless!
My favorite intro to any series. It's not in the game or any other media but that cold open sets the mood and adds to how close to a reality it can be. Talking about global warming in a way that is subtle/factual to the point that the audience is even doubting their initial laughs.

FYI if you want to compare The Last of Us TV show with the video game, several UA-cam channels have made a commentary and spoiler-free clip of the game walkthrough. It takes about 6-7 hours to watch the cut scenes.

The fungus, cordyceps, does indeed actually exist, and they did a great job of making it seem plausible it could infect humans. But in reality it's limited in what species of ants it can even infect, let alone entirely different animals.

There are 4 voice actors from the games that make an appearance in the show; Merle Dandridge who plays Marline, in the game, returns as the same character. First of all, every movie has their own version of what zombies are. For example, World War Z vs Walking Dead. 10:34 Not exactly crazy. How do know they aren’t infected when you just met a stranger especially when covered in blood? How do they spread the infection? Is the virus only limited to physical contact like bite, scratches or blood? Or is it an airborne virus? No one knows which explains why the soldier is wearing a gas mask to protect himself from any toxic/disease that you may inhale. Chances are that it can incubate in a host without you knowing. You know… delayed reaction & you’re the carrier to spread unto others. Why will the soldier shoot civilians without question? For various reasons. In this case, after evaluating the situation. 1. Is the soldier thinking for his safety or for other’s safety? Will you take that chance of leaving them be only to risk spreading to millions? Like save 2 lives only to risk millions. Again, how do you know? Are you a Scientist or Medical Doctor? Not exactly specialized in knowing how they work & certainly not his field of expertise. He also said “Sorry” meaning he means it. Why say that after he shot them? Even the tone of his voice is the guilt. Living with that kind of choice is tough. He didn’t ask for this but he made his choice for the greater good aside from just containment orders. 2. Not everyone is truthful. Civilians could be lying just for their own sake & again risk millions of lives. The selfishness of people doing whatever it takes to survive. For example, COVID-19 I heard people avoiding to be detected cuz they know they’re showing symptoms that their positive. Get on a ship or whatever transportation you can find & end up spreading the infection. Coughing, touching, etc. Feel bad knowing that kids end up getting from those kind of people. However, it’s understandable when it comes to your instinct of fear making decisions. Allowing fear to dictate our choices is not always something you realize right away.
The video game that came out 10 years ago in 2013 was a shitload better. You need to play it if you have a PS3 or PS4 if not then you can just watch IGN's walkthrough playlist of it
I found the season tobe pretty poor, if you want something that actually involves zombies (yes the creatures in the last of us are more or less the same thing get over it)for more then a couple of episode's just watch The walking dead the first season of that is far superior.
Fun Fact: Marlene is played by Merle Dandridge, who also did the voice and motion capture for the same character in the game.
And there's a few other game actors, but she's the only one playing the same character.
