- I built this DIY motion simulator with supplies from a hardware store! It's called the Kinetic flight sim. Come with me on a test flight as I shuttle passengers to a distant space station with the Asp Explorer.

please post actual details of your build.
I don't understand the lack of views of this. To me this is the Holy Grail of sims. I would definitely build this. Even if you make the plans payware I would be very interested.
Thank you, I certainly enjoy it. I hope to someday have the money to produce a comprehensive online training course for people. I envision a DIY course with video, text, pictures, and diagrams like my other DIY Flight Sim courses at www.rogerdodger.net/diyflightsims/
@@rogerdodgeraviation This no longer appears to be on the website.
I am eagerly awaiting the possible release of the DIY plans because this looks amazing
It looks like the motion platform takes its input directly from the joystick, hence why it should with all games, even IL2 BoS which provides no telemetry.
Uhm so I looked at this video and I think your motion is the opposite way it should be. You're in space. There is no gravity but only force. So when you move your ship left you should feel the force applied to the right meaning if your space ship is moving left or rotating left then your seat should rotate to the right to simulate the force your body is experiencing. Your setup seems to be apply force to the right if moving to the right. I think I'd be struck with really bad motion sickness using this setup of motion. Same for pitch. Pitching forward should rotate the chair backwards a little. Pitching back should rotate the chair a bit forward. It should only hold the rotation for a short while and when force is no longer applied (when everything has caught on with the new speed) it should straighten up even though you might still be rotating in game. We should only feel the acceleration. It should only move/rotate when there is a change in rotational/directional speed.
Can it be flipped around so that it would apply to force instead? It might be a mechanical system you've build and therefor cannot be flipped.
What program do you use for your 2DoF
Interesting...details on the motion sim?
Yes! I am working on an article with more details. I will post it at the Roger Dodger Blogger... www.rogerdodger.net/blog/
How many dof?
Do you offer this build on your site as an option to purchase the build info and tutorials?
I plan to do that. Right now I'm just trying to see if there is a lot of people interested in a DIY motion flight sim.
Roger Dodger Aviation - Thank you for your reply. I look forward to any updates.
The website is down??
@@rogerdodgeraviation Not to detract from your kit plans, I have a Dreamflyer that I modded and used with Elite Dangerous. I've had it for 5 fun-filled years of flying and if anyone is interested in purchase or to see it in action the youtube video is here:

Unfortunately, the Dreamflyer is no longer in production, but again, I am ready to part ways with mine.
What game is this?
Didn't you read the title?
