Building Home Flight Simulators with PVC Pipes and Fittings.
PVC pipes are inexpensive and convenient. You can find them at your neighborhood home improvement store. They are great for building frameworks and enclosures for your DIY Flight Sim.
great video! This is a brilliant idea for making simple sim pits! I've always wanted to make one, but lack proper tools, making it with PVC is obviously viable and very simple and easy compared to making it out of wood! I could even see someone using zero wood in a whole sim pit with this technique! It would be easy enough to make button boxes/panels that mount to different parts out of acrylic panels or 3D printing! You could even make interchangeable consoles if you wanted, considering how cheap it is to make one it wouldn't be that crazy. The only major problem may be trying to replicate cockpits of real aircraft, a PVC frame might not lend its self too well for this.
This is Awesome! You convinced me to use this type of construction to make my flight simulator. I just want to say, you were my inspiration to both build it and put it on my UA-cam Channel!
That is so cool! I just subbed!
I’m currently building my pc and will be buying this template very soon!!
How's it going
I learned a lot more about PVC than I thought was possible to know. Before today, PVC was PVC.
So glad you decided to update your site! The age of simming has returned :D

YT put this up as a recommendation and I'm glad it did.
Wow anybody who thumbs down that video.must be wealthy.because it rocked.that is the answer to my first sim build.great ideas have changed the world.for us poor folk.and we salute you.nailed it.but I would use sanded luon plywood to fill in cockpit in closure .so you could paint and continue replications on the inside.cover interior thing with fiberglass.get artistic on it.that could be bad ass.
Hi Rodger Dodger, I'm pretty close to buying the 20$ plan package. I just have 1 question ... does it end up solid after being made of 1 in pipe? It seems to me like it would end up kind of shakey or rickety.
What kind of screw you use to attach wood with PVC? Is it another Self drilling screw?
it is sturdy only using PVC and having all those movements and vibrations in the simulator?
What about using a small toothed hacksaw ?
i want to make a double seated cockpit for my project sim. where can I find the dimensions?
How do you fasten the body panels
great job, very informative.
Very impressive, funny i found you web site through forums before you tube
Keep on ;)
Wow, thank you. That would have been prior to 2005 !
