Yep, anybody who shoots pistols a lot knows that it's so, so easy to miss, particularly when any distance at all is involved. It's also easy to miss at moderate distances if one is trying to shoot too fast and isn't totally focused. I don't redo these things just because I miss. It's a bit like a reality show, I guess. :-)
I'll bet most watching this don't have a clue about how hard it is to actually hit these targets with such consistency at these distances. Great vid as usual.
Mr. Hickok45 I must say, from watching these vintage videos to your most recent 2024 videos. Your shooting has got a lot better 👍🏽
Yep, the UPS truck that delivers my ammo has broken three axles I use so much lead. Just keep clicking those ads! :-)
Do u still have the glock 29 and how is it doing thanks
Good insightful video!
If I could have only one Glock 10mm it would be the Glock 29SF.
This is by far the most versatile multi purpose, universal Personal Safety Defensive Device available to date.
@GT4604, Okay, that's impressive; you identified a Mustang from the sound of the engine. I probably could have been looking at it and not told you what it was! If you're so good, though, tell us what color it was! :-)
Thanks for the quick reply, much appreciated! And as always I really enjoyed the video, thanks!
Have been a fan for a long time. I realize you're a teacher (I used to teach English in Idaho) but your videos are informative, honest and well done. I love the 10mm I have the 20 but am looking for the 29, which - thanks to you - has given me the "yen" for one. I realize you have your own shooting area. That's the great appeal of your videos. I'm in Utah and have a lot of area as well but I'm not the shot you are - yet - but you've inspired me. Nice videos.
I shot everything right eye and right handed up until a few years ago. I noticed that I got a clearer sight picture with my left eye, so I switched over to my left eye for handguns. It's clearer for long guns, too, but it's a much harder proposition to switch over those. It only because my vision is better in my left eye, although I AM left eye dominant.
I load full power loads, as well as buy some Double Taps. Got some 230 grain 10mm loads from Double Tap this week. CAn't wait to play with them.
They are very similiar, except the .45 is probably a bit lighter, more of a push. The 10mm is a quicker recoil.
@PowerliftingWSM , No, but I'm very familiar with shooting 1911s. I like the way the Glock absorbs the power of the 10mm.
Yes, I do sight with my left eye.
Please get us some more videos with the Glock 10mm gen 4's..I have a 20 and it is awesome. Would also love some 9x25 dillon conversion tests...
29 sf 10mm justice, just got one for my birthday and this will undoubtedly be my hunting, concealed carry and range gun. Those poor grizzlys never had a chance when they pillaged my camp!!!
"Alaskan hunter"
1:21 Hickok really doesnt take any breaks an he hits every target like clockwork
@GunnerYuri , Yeah, I'd say with the right ammo, that 5" 629 might get the job done.
@K0wK1lla , My large hands actually prefer the standard models.
@boostimalaka1 , I've tried it and it works, but I don't think it's wise to do much of it. Seems pretty hard on the extractor to hold the case in place. In a pinch, though, when zombies are crowding in and all you have is .40 ammo and a 10mm, go for it!! :-)
Picked myself up the G29 to use while backpacking along the Appalachian Mountains. It's a nice gun though ammo is more expensive than my G30 .45 .
+Roaming Gnome I live in the Appalachian Mountains and there is some wildlife in places that would require a 10mm caliber firearm. The G29 is an excellent choice in that regard.
garageguy879 Good to know. Thanks!
garageguy879 i mean i live around the most highly concentrated population of bears in these mountains. I feel just fine with a .40 cal with some hardcast. Just use a mag with no less than 15 rounds. 10mm would be better if youre an experienced pistol shooter. If not, then it could hurt more than help. My Ak goes on camping trips now as well.
@@MT-vw6pf correct assessment sir, getting as many rds. As possible into the bear as it charges full speed towards is a risky encounter.
@lilchris423 , I think you can send any
Glock back to Glock for refinishing. I'm not sure what they charge.
Got one of these.. The recoil is insane, but nothing makes more sense if you have to hike all day in bear country ( Michigan ). The better calibers are sweet but good luck carrying that around all day long😏
Hickok 45 talked me into trading for one. Very grateful now . Great Review , thanks .
The most powerful ammution for the glock 29 10mm is RBCD leaving a 12'' by 12'' cavity inside a human or anything else
Designed for Controlled limited penetration
•Designed for maximum energy transfer
•Designed for reduced recoil
•Designed for reduced ricochet
•Designed for superior accuracy

I should buy a Glock 29... anyone else on board?
Yes, go for it. I bought it to use as backwoods protection. For me it came down to a .357 snub revolver or this.
I got both haha
Same
I've had one for 10 years, absolutely love it..
G30SF!
Almost never in 20 + years. It just about has to be an issue with a handload, where the case is old and worn or I'm experimenting with seating bullets differently or something. I don't know that I've ever had a malfunction with a factory round.
Just picked up the G29. Please make a review on the Gen 4 29! Thanks
Forever my favorite gun UA-cam channel
Hickok -
Love the Chapter 2 mindset! Great shooting. Thanks!
Hickok45 is a good shot, either on target or darned close, and this holds true with every firearm he shoots
@rbelena , I've fired a couple of .40 rounds in my Glock 10mm pistols, but it's not advised to do it much. It's hard on the extractor, and the chamber in the 10mm is longer. It requires much more work from the extractor, as I understand it.
Not sure. Bad primer or dirt in chamber from my handloads.
this is the first video where he says " hickok45 here " just love that lmao
awesome! Im looking inot transitioning from ym current carry (glock 36) to a glock 29 when I have money to buy one...I klnow its slighty bigger and more on par with the glock 30, but I figure Ill go from 6 roudns of 45 to 10 rounds of 10mm which is even better, haha, anyway my question is ina subcompact woudl you say the 10mm is on par with the 45 as far as recoil and follow up shots go?
whats best place to order 10mm that isnt outrageous priced. i like to range shoot but $34 for 50 shots at the store by me is crazy priced
vintage comment...flip forward to the great ammo shortage of 2021... very thing centerfire is about $2/round
The G29.
Mustang @ 3:53
Always nice Video Hickok
Another great video and great shooting. I always enjoy your videos!! Keep up the great work!
@frankgon4 , Mostly my handloads.
You have really come along way since this video. The camera Equipment you have now is amazing.
Daniel Frank Hoffman the HD tech is both more advanced and lower priced now...plus he has UA-cam revenue. ;)
Who heard the Fox Body 5.0 Mustang gettin it, at 3:53? lol
Sean Hartman I thought that hybrid sounded funny. heh heh
I have G19 G20 and I think the G29 is next!
I just picked my 29 up today!!! Sweetness!
That is power and control in the finest examples.
hickok45, could you please do an updated video of this gun ? I'd love to see in your camera's eyes.
Congrats on the "Trophy Gun", that will be my next Glock purchase.
I guess with full power ammo, the G29 might hit a little harder.
@AssaultMechRider675 , That's just me making fun of myself. I changed it to "I." I never thought about people not realizing that I'm the one who does all the annotations. :-)
Man 12 years ago you made this and now here I sit still not owning a G29 but wanting to
Loving the 10mm Glock 29. Hope we could see more of both 10mm Glock 20 & 29 soon Hickok.
@retthok , My left hand is not totally neutral, but I don't apply too much pressure with it.
Man that thing carries alot of energy down range, and as always nice shooting!!!
I pretty much duplicate factory loads, but they will even function with light .40 S&W rounds. I don't do it much, but I've shot .40 S&W factory rounds through both the G29 and G20 just to see if it works. It's not recommended, but it does work. Feels about like shooting a .22rimfire in these big heavy Glocks.
Oh man, I'd love for you and John to do an Chapter 3 with this great gun. It would look real purty on that new camera of yours.
Baby 10mm= Bad Guy is Probably Screwed
Reload with Glock 20 15rd magazine= Bad Guy is Definitely Screwed AND Soiled
Not if you shoot a fair amount and if you are used to some recoil.
Loving those 80 yard shots. At-least I know its me and not the G29 =)
Hey Hickok45, Great vid. Excellent shooting. Just goes to show, practice makes perfect and even then there's goin to be misses. Have a good'in,
man I hope one day I can meet you and shake your hand so some of your accuracy rubs off on me. Haha. great video as usual.
Hickok is one hell of a good shot
Ok. These videos are costing me money. I have to buy a Glock 29 now. Love the videos! Can someone please lend Hickok a Glock 37? I am a big GAP fan and want to see a video!
@whatsmyname252 , I get it at the same place everybody else does; there's no free lunch. It's just expensive.
WOW, I finally saw you flinch! lol. Keep up the great vids.
At 5:23
Nice shooting! When others on youtube shoot that gun, it looks like it's gonna jump out of their hands, Hickok makes it look like a .22!
It's a great gun for backpacking as it's light, deals with wet well and has real oomph if needed.
you control the recoil really well. it looks like the web of your hand is really close to the slide
Damn you're good awesome shooting got to give me a Glock 29 and Glock 20 I've got the Glock 10 I love it but I got to get the other two brothers thanks again I enjoyed that God bless😉🇺🇸😎🇺🇸
I got a bad round / primer.
@rbelena , If you buy it in .40 caliber.
Thanks for another great video. I am already saving my pennies and dimes for my next Glock. I don't have as many as you do...but I'm working on it!
Glock needs to be sponsoring you
NO, I'm out in the county where it's legal to shoot all you want.
Yeah, that's what I like about your vids. You don't sugar coat your them. When you miss you miss. No reason to make yourself look perfect by editing the misses out, which by the way, are very few,lol.....
💥 💥 💥 BOM BOM BOM ……..LOVE THE GLOCK 29, GREAT BACK-UP FOR BIG GAME.AWESOME MAN STOPPING 🛑 ✋ POWER 🔫
thats some awesome shootin there man. i have the fnp9 and am pretty happy with that. i wanted to pick up another 9mm, either springfield xdm9 or glock 19. after watching alot of these glock videos i think i might go with the g19. keep up the good vids
Glocks are designed for that, they need to be dry fired to remove the slide for cleaning....hickok45 might "rack the slide" a little too much in my opinion.... but any damage from those two processes are practically negligent on most modern firearms anyways. Praise the 10mm
You can really see the ground now in winter.
Hundreds of years from now, people might wonder if a great battle occurred on that land.
There's copper n' lead everywhere!
simply, awesome.
Hickok45, what 10mm fmj range ammo do you prefer? I love sig sauer 10mm. Just wondering what your favorite was
chris amos do you ever get light strikes or a strike that's normal/ deep and it not fire, but load it again and it fires? I like the ammo but have many issues with that
Most of them I've bought at ArntzenTargets in recent years. They have a website by the same name. I had most of the standing animals made locally back in the '80. Been trying to kill them for decades!
That 10mm looks like it packs a punch!
loved hearing that american muscle in the backround of your shooting.
@Tadpoleriver , I'm not sure the G29 SF was even available when I did this video. It's the standard G29.
Hickok45 I did see your Accuracy video and agree with what you are saying.I believe you are giving the thumbs up on shooting the .40 S&W out of any Glock 10mm.I would like you to do a video on this. You can show that a .357 mag can shoot .38 spl .44 mag & .44 spl. That would be a great video Hickok.
I'm not really a glock fan but you make them look pretty damn nice! Btw are you into Practical Shooting ? I think it's very fun and it's great training for selfdefence.
Love your videos, you make it look absurdly easy. That can be frustrating, LOL
Great shooting. Never have shot the 10mm personally, but have been reading a lot about it in my reloading books. Do you prefer to carry 10mm over 40cal?
@weaponseducation , You carrying the 230 gr. cast bullets? They give horrible accuracy in my stock barrel, tumbling at 15 yards. my barrel won't stabilize them, I suppose. Not sure what all the reasons are.
You shoot very well with that baby Glock sir, good job! 5*'s
That's NOT a "baby" glock
Yes of course and people always think higher caliber is cool. Yeah it's probably fun to shoot but all depend's on the person I love 9mm and 40 I had 36 as well a 45 which is ok. I'll stick with my G26 with hornandy AMMO. It's not like 9mm is weak lol. I can trade my BRAND NEW UNFIRED FOR a 29 right now later on I'm going to get FIVE SEVEN and 30S.
Okay, should I buy the 9mm "against armed criminals" gun, or the 10mm "werewolf on PCP" gun? Better safe than sorry I assume. Like Hickok45 said, it's a do-all gun, and still fun at the range (rare breed of carry gun if you ask me).
Damn that was good shooting 👍 I Got a Glock 10 gam 4 I love it my next gun going to be the Glock 20 Gen 4 and Glock 29 Gen 4 thank you again I enjoyed the video🇺🇸😉🇺🇸😎🇺🇸👍
Did you notice better accuracy or the same .I also herd the same thing about the extractor. That's what many guys shoot at the range and save the 10mm ammo since the cost is high and ammo is scarce.
Love your channel. However, when it comes to the Glock 29 I am sitting on the fence. I own the Glock 20 and 40 and love them. My Glock 40 MOS, without any sights is my favorite weapon to shoot for fun. I also own a Glock 21, 41 and 30. The Glock 30 is what leads me to this question. The Glock 29 Gen 4 is built on the same frame as the 30. Unlike, the other Glocks, the 30 is the most prone to misfeeds during rapid fire. While I will be the first to suspect my grip could be at fault, I've seen others have the same problem. I've had the local Glock armorer take a look and still when I try to rapid fire the weapon I still get the occasional misfeed. I'm wondering if the pressure of the larger round is causing flex that might be part of the problem. And, if this is the case, if it would be worse with the 29 and the higher pressure 10MM rounds? Since I've come to enjoy your videos over the years and since this video is almost eleven years old perhaps a newer comparison could be had?
*Nice )* 10mm is a great round.
you mean the one centimeter round 😀
Wow, those 10's hit hard!
@frankgon4 - compared to 9mm, yeah, 10mm is expensive. Compared to .45acp? Not so much. A lot of times I'll find the .45 ammo is a couple bucks more than the 10mm.
Fine shooting for a sub compact! I have a G29 with a Crimson Trace due to bad eyes and the possibility of having to use it without my glasses on in the middle of the night!
=D
@SStiv79 Most modern firearms are safe to dry fire, with the exception of most .22's. Lots of dry fire is a highly recommended training exercise for beginners through experts.
I cannot wait to get one of those!
