Just got this bundle kit. It's a little pricey and took a bit of patience to install (because I'm kind of picky and like things done correctly and neatly...so I even took the opportunity to properly clean the inner screen while I had the chance when modifying everything else), but so damn worth it in my opinion! I love it! My kids love it! It will most definitely provide us with long term entertainment!
We got our kit earlier in the week. Instructions could be better with bigger pictures to see, this video was very helpful but skips a bit of other stuff that needs to be connected in the box. So between both, watching this and reading instructions over and over during the install, it took 4 hours to get it all done. I wanted to make sure I did it right, especially my first go at it. If I had to do it again it should only take an hour. One of the wires on the light strip needed to be reconnected. When you install the light strip, get some double sided mounting tape like 3M or Alien tape, and help secure it on the ends and the middle. The light strips started falling shortly after, but this is my experience with all light strips. Our speaker box panel was 1/4 of an inch too long, as it was longer than the existing panel, so it would bend inward exposing other parts of the inside cabinet, looked bad, so we put original panel back in for now. We placed the speakers on the bottom of the inside of the cabinet for now. The speaker wires could have been pre stripped, and connected/crimped to the connectors. One of the three predrilled holes on the lower part of the marquee were off, so we could not screw that one in to the lower part, but is still held in place by the other two. We are going to buy a longer connector to put the marquee light switch on top of cabinet so we can turn it off when not in use. We may purchase different speaker, or a line in speaker, or use my old Bose speaker that has plug in audio wire All and all still a great purchase and are happy with it so far.

I have the NBA Jam 4-player Arcade1Up cabinet with the WiFi multiplayer (which is really fun). The concept of this mod is great, but I'd like to figure out a way to switch between the Arcade1Up board and the Raspberry Pi.
First of all,I want to say that the kit is well worth it.I can’t stop playing it.The wife is getting angry.I was a little disappointed that the kit did not have any N64 or PlayStation games. The opening image shows these systems. The only other thing is that the marquee did not fit as well as it should. With that being said,I would definitely recommend this.

@@ace_ofspades5064 ive bought 3 now, one was a gift. they are awesome imo. took about a week for them to ship during the holidays it seems, but theyre putting them together custom colors, ubs, trackballs, etc so the short wait makes sense. before the holidays i got them a little sooner. only thing i would add is that the cable from the screen to the hdmi converter is not long enough (this is arcade 1 up design). you can see that in this video. i taped my converter on a piece of cardboard, and then taped the cardboard w converter to the back of the screen. I absolutely love mine, i just wish i had more time to play
I wanted this so I could have a machine that saved high scores without having to save state. This mod gave me the machine I have always wanted. For any game that didn’t save it’s high score, I just changed the emulator in the options from Final Burn to Mame2010. After testing hundreds of classics only Spiderman(Sega) did not work. Even the Daphne games worked!
@@Cargo_Bay I ended up going with buying a cabinet from "TheArcadeGuys" instead of risking one of these. They have a shop on Etsy with dozens of reviews with pics and all. They have a small arcade1up sized cabinet choice, or a 42'' inch among others, I went with the 42''. And they offer mods such as trackballs and light guns, which is all I wanted in the first place. Granted it's more expensive than one of these Arcademodup kits, but they're doing all the work including my custom cabinet art. So no risk on my part lmao But stuff like this is all meant for people who don't know how to mod this stuff themselves anyway. If I knew how to do all that, I'd most likely just do it on my own.
choppa gunna not yet. Had some financial things come up. I will eventually though. I did hear they were really busy trying to fill all the orders. I figured that these would be popular.
Got one of these kits about a month or so ago, figured I would come back and leave a review for anyone else on the fence. The Hardware: The joystick and buttons are placed nicely, everything feels like where it should be. The graphic on the control board and marquee look fine, only “issue” is that they aren’t perfectly flush. There’s about a 1/4 inch gap between the control board and the screen, and a slight enough gap to see a little light through on the marquee when looking at it dead on. I think it’s fine personally, but I can see some people complaining. The main issue I had was that the player 2 joystick was not working correctly. Bought a nice Sanwa to put into player 1, and put the player 1 joystick arcademodup sent into player 2. Problem solved. Outside of that, all the buttons were wired up perfectly and work well. Speakers are the bare basics, but work fine. The Games: The collection is very nice. There are about 5,000 games and over 95% of them work perfectly. None of the Daphne games work. The only game outside of that that stands out off the top of my head that doesn’t work at all is Strider 2, you’ll have to hard reset if you try to play it. Some games are a little too big to handle the best and will run a little choppy, but again, not a lot really come to mind. Basically, anything you really want to play, works. I’ve been playing Marvel vs. Capcom, Sunset Riders and Metal Slug 3 a lot lately and it’s working great. Most of the games save the high scores, but there’s a good number that don’t. The only other complaint I could think of is that the version of Night Slashers is the censored U.S. one, and that’s super nit picky. All in all: It’s actually pretty nice for people new to modding but aren’t able to take the time to wire everything up or format images. All the important stuff is right, and any issues are an easy fix. So for the most part, it is absolutely “plug and play.” It’s hard to say whether or not the price is too high or not, considering there aren’t a plethora of companies sending you the controls all wired up and everything ready to go.
@@reddytosevelt I got the 2 player street fighter and the 4 player tmnt... They both needed some finagling but i got both working and its alot of fun...
Yea. Just got the order in and put it together yesterday. Everything works like it should. Just disappointed in the customer service. I understand they were probably busy because of Christmas. But I have to say, the customer service was pretty bad. They ran out of parts and sent me a link to amazon items to order, and refunded the exact amount that amazon charged, instead of the amount they charge on their website, and there was a different in prices. Also sent me link to the wrong part, luckily I know just enough to know the right part to order. And most emails I sent were either rudely answered or not at all. I managed to get everything working. Just really disappointed in the customer service. I would not order from them again.

Hello: This is such a great video, however I have some questions. Don’t know if you will answer them but I figured I would try. 1. Does this save scores for all games? 2. I have read online some people complain about the games being “boggy” or not playing correctly is that to be expected on some games? 3. Is it upgradeable if you all release additional pies or make it so more games can be added? 4. How many gaming systems does it have? 5. Can you buy through your website without PayPal? Thank you.
One thing I will say is be very, very careful with the HDMI to mico connection cable. It is very delicate and crimps and breaks easily. In any event I bought two kits from them and if need be I would buy more.
Why get a Pandora 11 and hook up to tv. What’s the point in booking up to a arcade. Cheap 1up one. What you spend you can buy a big screen tv. Hoop up to wall stand and done. Lol
Looks like this build turns on when you plug in the raspberry pi. I wired my own so that the On/OFF switch does this and it's easy to do. Search YT for the tutorials if you want to try yourself.
Where does the sound come from if you don't buy the speaker upgrade? You say the drop in control panel is all you need yet when you show the back it looks like the mono speaker is no longer there.
Great video! It's very helpful. Question regarding the HDMI/VGA board mounting, is there any reason to be concerned with having it on the metal as opposed to farther down on the wood? Grounding issue or otherwise? I've just seen it recommended in other videos of installing the same part to get it down on the wood, but the cables don't look like they are long enough anyway.
DON'T BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE. TINA THE CO-OWNER IS A CRAZY, BACK-STABBING BITCH! THEIR "SO-CALLED" TECH SUPPORT IS AWEFUL!!! THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY & LAUGH ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK!
Thank you! We are slammed with orders, but unlike our competitors do everything in house. We are only running 2 to 3 days from order right now with the holiday rush heating up. Should ship shortly with tracking.
I am assuming since this connects to a pi you can simply connect the HDMI to a PC instead once you use your kit? Thinking of investing as a PC would be a better option for me for more powerful games like dreamcast and ps2.
Will you guys be coming out with a mod kit for the new marvel vs capcom x-men 97 deluxe edition? I would love to get one of these kits but there doesn’t seem to be one for my specific cabinet
I took my time put everything together( I bought the XL), took quite awhile. The sound was great, the buttons and trackball lit up, no visual!!.The monitor acts like it wants to light up, but no picture. $525.00. Hopefully it's a quick fix
Did you ever figure this out? I’m having same issue. Screen is grey but sounds and lights work. When I hook up to a tv it also works. Monitor is not fried, I’ve powered up other control panel to confirm. Ty
I actually bought the 19" upgrade monitor. What a trainwreck, they must have hired Stevie Wonder to put the components on, it was on the side. Thus it could not be connected to the components( I ordered a vertical monitor), I ended using an extra computer monitor. Worst Company ever.
It’s alright but I keep having problems with mine, the SD card had problems after a week they sent me a new one but now the sound isn’t working. For maybe a total of 48 hours of game play not a good buy ,looks cool but not worth it.
Are you doing anything with the mvsx? Would love to buy some enlarged arcade stick kits and was hoping you’d be working on an speaker mod to move them under the marquee.
Damn. Great job. I have been holding off on getting an arcade 1up but i may have to get one now and one of these kits. Do you have the retropie image available for download from your site? I love how you have it configured.
Is it fairly easy to change the menu music? Like a personal playlist for instance? This is great. I picked up the mortal Kombat cabinet last night and returned it this morning because the old lady said 'F-no". But I'm glad I did because the SF cabinet button layout is better. Near future will be getting one. I kind of want to just get all of the the dimensions of the cabinet and have the pieces cut and drilled to make a larger one. It all depends on the cost. It may be cheaper to just modify the Arcade 1up though. Im a tall dude and definitely would prefer a taller cabinet. I know it is simple to add a riser on the base of one of these. So many options/possibilities.
Sweet set up, definitely going to look up your site once I get a cabinet. Also, are you able to drop the control set onto most Arcade1up Cabs, like the asteroids?
Yes. This model works with all cabs except golden tee which has a slightly deeper panel which we support too, but would need to know if that is the cabinet you have. All others are good.
This looks like the easiest way to get things done, will you be looking into modding the new X-men vs streetfighter Arcade1Up machines coming out? I’m planning on modding my preordered one with your help. Specifically for the control panel, I’m not interested in drilling holes into the cabinet
can i order your 2 Player XL Mod Kit instead of the 2player mod joysticks (shown on this video) for the same SFII championship arcade machine showcased in this video? Will it fit for the 2 Player XL Mod Kit?
Question for you guys- the screen is bigger, but is it better than my gen 1 monitor? I have a vertical screen and you can only see properly on one side.
will you guys be making one of these drop in units for the 4 player ninja turtles cabinet? with games like nba jam, nba jam te, xmen, captain America and the avengers, spiderman, both turtles games, Simpsons, nfl blitz, & my favorite GI Joe al the great 4 player games I'd love it to if you guys made a Gi Joe wrap graphics for the 4 player cabinet as well.
Got it and it works great, but there are a few games that I'd like to add that aren't included, such as Rockin’ Bowl O’ Rama, Kickman and Super ABC (PacMan multi game title). Any ideas on how to do this? Thanks in advance!
I have the prototype ready and it is awesome. My team is about 2 to 3 days behind the onslaught of orders for these across all the other cabinets. Once we get caught up completely and some of the tmnt on the shelf I will release video and order page.
Awesome video ! Is it possible to use a pandora box for this wiring configuration? By connecting the usb cables from the encoder directly to the pandora box
Would I be able to swap the four player tmnt controller board with the pre-installed controller from you guys or would I run into problems tryin that. Would there be any problems period trying to install this in the tmnt cabinet. Literally ready to order but im nervous about this part

Yeah...I powered mine down as he said to above, and now I can't get it to turn back on. I emailed them a couple days ago asking for help.
Looks like this build turns on when you plug in the raspberry pi. I wired my own so that the On/OFF switch does this and it's easy to do. Search YT for the tutorials if you want to try yourself.
Where does the sound come from if you don't buy the speaker upgrade? You say the drop in control panel is all you need yet when you show the back it looks like the mono speaker is no longer there.
everyone that does this kit makes the smart idea to upgrade to stereo sound at the same time
Is there a list of the games it includes for review? I want to see how many of my favs it includes??
Is there a list???
@@ElBrisho They sent me a list via email.
@@DarylWiseJr I ended modding it myself with 20,000 games
@@ElBrisho Does it have magic sword?
Does it have pacman...
This video is 4 years old...Is there a newer updated version today? Thanks
Very cool I'm going to mod up with you guys
Having trouble connecting the HDMI micro HDMI cord
Sooooo, the kit already comes with the games downloaded and ready to play? Cause I’m all in if that’s the case. Probably gonna buy the TMNT cabinet.
Yes. For the most part they are already configured with binds and good to go.
Thanks a lot.
best explained video i have ever seen strait to the point and 100 percent explain should be no questions well done
Would love to see all this in a 4 player kit with trackball for games like goldentee
Be careful of them
Do you have a list of the fighting games that are included ?
I just want the extra game part I want just the card if I can get it loaded
Me2
i do not think they sell just the cards. go to the web site and at the bottom there is a place to ask them direct
@@atheistpeace7579 thanks
Just ordered mine $319.99😁👍🏼
Thank you! We are slammed with orders, but unlike our competitors do everything in house. We are only running 2 to 3 days from order right now with the holiday rush heating up. Should ship shortly with tracking.
@@arcademodup2286 thanks! much I'm patient😁
One idea I have not seen yet is the possibility of control decks with multi pin plugs so you could swap them.
If you get a usb multi split then you can use them on other systems interchangebly, do not use the same power supply to both decks.
How do you turn the cabinet on and off? I don't see a power button on that controller
Do you get all the arcade games that the arcade 1 up has?
Awesome video!
Nice
Can I order just the SD card? Love how you have everything is order! The wrestling section sold me lol. I need. Please lmk
Is there step by step directions on how to build the 2 player xl box assembly? The included directions are very confusing!!
Super cool is there a save feature at all so I can pick up games where I left off?
@@newsnviewz wow I just saw this video and I was reading people's comments I think I'm going to pass on this
Welp, looks like I'm getting into the mod game!!
It’s alright but I keep having problems with mine, the SD card had problems after a week they sent me a new one but now the sound isn’t working. For maybe a total of 48 hours of game play not a good buy ,looks cool but not worth it.
This is amazing
the phone number for customer service dont even work..and i got the entire kit for 400..it arrived today
Hi. Loving the image you have on that card, do you sell these cards separately and ship to the UK?
How does it turn on after the upgrade? I see no power switch. Maybe I am just overlooking it?
You use a standard power strip.
You use a standard power strip.
Are you doing anything with the mvsx? Would love to buy some enlarged arcade stick kits and was hoping you’d be working on an speaker mod to move them under the marquee.
I checked out your shop. I didn't see the Pi with the loaded up ad card sold separately. Am I missing something?
not missing anything. they sell it as a drop in kit only
YOU GUYS ROCK !!
Damn. Great job. I have been holding off on getting an arcade 1up but i may have to get one now and one of these kits. Do you have the retropie image available for download from your site? I love how you have it configured.
no they customized it. they would not give that away for free
How Many Games It Comes With ? Ready To Buy ASAP !
What a great video thank you for sharing would I be able to purchase the image you used on this build ?
Is ninja turtles, X-men and Simpson’s arcade games on there. Thanks.
J Capriotti has all 3 and more
Sweet set up, definitely going to look up your site once I get a cabinet.
Also, are you able to drop the control set onto most Arcade1up Cabs, like the asteroids?
Yes. This model works with all cabs except golden tee which has a slightly deeper panel which we support too, but would need to know if that is the cabinet you have. All others are good.
Original arcade 1up pac man as well?
I have the Arcade1 Up Super Pacman cabinet. At your Modup website I don't see a mod kit for it. Can you help?
I have a vertical screen and you can only see properly on one side.
can anyone tell me how to get the games
they all come pre installed with this kit
Any possibility of lining up the 6 button panel to American Style? I noticed that it is arched to Japanese style? Otherwise it looks really good.
Nice 👍🏾 I’m going on the website and order a Mortal Kombat one
Any chance this has the old Star Wars Trilogy arcade game? Thanks
will you guys be making one of these drop in units for the 4 player ninja turtles cabinet? with games like nba jam, nba jam te, xmen, captain America and the avengers, spiderman, both turtles games, Simpsons, nfl blitz, & my favorite GI Joe al the great 4 player games I'd love it to if you guys made a Gi Joe wrap graphics for the 4 player cabinet as well.
Awesome Setup Video👍... A quick question, Do you have a Mod for a Rampage Cabinet setup?
Yes, we have for every cab. Will be the sf layout, but artwork will match your cabinet.
If I'm still using the stock speakers that came with the cabinet, where do I plug my aux into? The Android box? Monitor converter ?
Got it and it works great, but there are a few games that I'd like to add that aren't included, such as Rockin’ Bowl O’ Rama, Kickman and Super ABC (PacMan multi game title). Any ideas on how to do this? Thanks in advance!
Are you going to do a control deck for the ninja turtle cab? Also when you include ras pie does it come preloaded??
I have the prototype ready and it is awesome. My team is about 2 to 3 days behind the onslaught of orders for these across all the other cabinets. Once we get caught up completely and some of the tmnt on the shelf I will release video and order page.
Oh man! This this this!
I ordered MK already I will be getting TMNT when ready
Awesome video ! Is it possible to use a pandora box for this wiring configuration? By connecting the usb cables from the encoder directly to the pandora box
Pandora typically needs jamma harnessing which is different.
Would I be able to swap the four player tmnt controller board with the pre-installed controller from you guys or would I run into problems tryin that.
Would there be any problems period trying to install this in the tmnt cabinet. Literally ready to order but im nervous about this part
C.Foster ( I don’t work for them) there shouldn’t be a problem if you click the tmnt cabinet option
