@JIM PATS LOSE + Warren Moon had bad luck, but he played good in a few playoff games. Good in 87 vs Seattle, good in 88 vs Browns, decent in 89 vs Steelers, injured in 90 vs Bengals, good in 91 vs Jets, and Broncos. Elway had just enough time to beat them... not Moons fault. Great in 92 vs Buffalo, cant blame him with 4 first half td passes...

Was on the edge of my seat too!
How can you have three huge errors in the punting game like that and be a perennial playoff team all at the same time??? The Oilers were obviously better than the Cowboys in this one. How they didn't get to the AFC championship at least once with that offense is a crime.
We have one of the most snake bit franchises ever. I think the Vikings are the only franchise thats more snake bit. The Oilers/Titans have always been so close to greatness, but can rarely ever get it done. Almost makes it worse being like that as opposed to being the Cardinald, Lions or Browns.

What a classic. One of my all-time favorites. Believe it or not, this was an early start so it was just seen in the Texas region and not the rest of the country. The commentary about Al Del Greco was that Houston's previous kicker was fired earlier in the week after shanking a game-winning attempt against the Redskins so Del Greco was a mid-week signee who got a second chance to be the hero. This was Run n Shoot at its finest.

Always interesting to hear the broadcasting pairs when the NFL Vault is opened up
      Of course there are the classics: Madden-Summerall, Brookshire-Summerall, Enberg-Olsen, Gowdy, Al-Dan-Frank, Frank-Don-Howard, Al-Madden
      Here’s some other pairings
      Verne Lundquist & Terry Bradshaw
Lundquist with Mark May on TNT SNF
Enberg, Phil Simms, & Paul McGuire for the last 2 NBC Super Bowls before losing AFC package
Al, Dan Fouts, & Dennis Miller (2000: Dolphins at Jets, Vikings at Packers)
Al & Boomer (Super Bowl XXXIV)
Last Packers game in Milwaukee was called by Joe Buck
Kevin Harlan started at Fox as did Matt Millen & that Falcons coach who always wore black
      Gus Johnson & Steve Tasker
Jim Nantz was at most CBS B team until they lost the NFC in 1993
Chicago at Miami 1985: Frank Gifford, Joe Namath, & OJ Simpson
I think James Brown did some NFL games before going to the studio during his first time at CBS
CBS A Team (1998-Super Bowl XXXVIII): Greg Gumble & Phil Simms
ESPN MNF: Turico & the revolving door of analysts (Theismann & Kornheiser, Jaws, Gruden)
Oilers at Bills 1992 playoffs, Eagles at Giants 1978: Don Criqui
Mongo was in the MNF booth while Don Meredith was doing NBC
Meaningless Jets at Dolphins early 1980s game: No announcers

The Houston oilers should be back in houston. Tennessee doesn't give a crap about the oilers only titans. Yes the Oilers became the titans, but they are two different franchises under same ownership.

Honestly baffled how crappy the video quality is for 1991. Looks like the NFL bought a boot leg off the black market. I've seen cleaner videos for regular season games from the 1970's.

I was at that game and the very first play warren moon threw it to Ernest Givens in the middle of the field on the 50 yard line on the Oilers logo and he got leveled. He got knocked out. He had to leave the game. I’m pretty sure what the severe concussion and he was playing later on in this game I guess, football players were just built different back then

@Underground Guy I know you meant no disrespect, and I'm glad you're passionate about it. Hearing Moons story is heartbreaking, and knowing he had to carry the weight of expectations for both himself and black athletes in general makes me respect him more than for just being a pro athlete. I'm only 17, and for most my life these examples felt like stories of the long ago and were irrelevant to me until recently with everything happening in America. Thanks for sharing, and god bless you as well 🙏

It doesn't matter what you like. Warren Moon is at the top all time passing yardage as a professional QB. That method he used is for 7 step drop backs and better allows him to read the opposite side of the field. It protects his blind side. Some plays just take that long to develop by design.

Any of my felow Cowboys fans want to disagree...this is fact and backed up in two books and the Cowboys Weekly paper. The bad ref call saved is ass in NYG and he did not have a true back up aside from RIcky Blacke. I wish Jimmy did not get rid of Alonzo Highsmith.
