How to Make a Tote with a Zipper Using Dollar Tree Placemats

- This little tote uses 2 Dollar Tree Placemats and 1 child's backpack, also from Dollar Tree. This is another cheap, fast, and fairly easy sewing project. It only cost a little over $3.00 and takes about 30 minutes depending on your skill level.

When you were sewing the inside pocket, 8 thought you might leave the top open then sew around 3 sides, because at one point you mentioned a pocket and pouch. You put a lot of thought into this to make it come out at a wonderful item. It took me back to when my Mother would figure out how to remake items, she could , searingly, get it all right in her mind, then make it come together. You’ve been a wonderful start to my day. That is a great idea!!! I sure could have just hemmed the top of the pocket and had two!!! I was working it out as I went and trying to be careful as trying to find placemats at our DT is like finding hen's teeth! Thanks for watching and commenting
Dollar tree has online ordering..maybe that will help..
Yes Dollar Tree online has the placemats. The catch is that you have to order a case, which is 24.

I cannot find these place mats in any of my local Dollar Tree stores but will keep looking.
Sometimes it is just about the hunt. At our DT the back packs were stuffed into the bottom shelf underneath the notebooks. I was looking for the web handles on a tote and spotted the back packs. I have had the placemats for a while. Happy hunting!!!

Did you mention how long the web handles are?
Total length is 36 inches. There is some that is in the seam at bottom (around an inch total). The strap itself is approximately 16 1/2 inches. That is measuring from stitching to stitching. I sure hope this makes sense to you!!!
