Chelsea, you're me fifty years ago (I'm 78). Your channel is the best. So glad I found it. Keep sewing and having a good time doing it. Sewing is still my happy place. Thank you!
Thank you so much!
I love your videos. Makes me miss my mom. I’m 70 now. You remind me of my mom 😊
You have a genuine presence and easy to follow instructions. I’m so glad I found your channel.
Thank you so much!
This would be super cool for a picnic. You could add all your silverware, napkins, salt, pepper, straws etc
Great idea!!
Oh, yes! Perfect idea! 😍
Those mats are expensive in Denmark where I’m from. Therefor I went to a thrift store and bought quilted placemats for 20 kr it’s about 2,75$ and made 2 bags😊
I’ve made her bags with placements. Works great!
Good for you!
Great idea. Thanks.
Clever and resourceful!😊
They are pretty cheap on Temu.
Never have I ever sewed until TODAY! I made two of these and I am SO PROUD of y wiggly stitched pouches!! Thank you!!! 🎉
👏 proud of you
Great job! That’s amazing!!!!
@@shesewsseams Joanne’s and the Five Quarter Store agree with you 🙄🤣🤣🤣
I find myself smiling the whole time I'm watching your videos!
I'm so glad! 😀
ME TOO!!
This is a WONDERFUL tutorial. Every summer I meet up with my high school friends for a girls weekend and I always bring them something that I make. This is what they will be getting for the Summer of 2024 !!!! We meet in Maine so it is called
"The Maine Event !!!"
Greetings from Maine! 😀
I sew GF gifts too. This moved to the top of the list. Love this project!
@@AnnRicci I love this so much!!
If I buy 2 mats and use the full size, I can make myself a lunch bag for work!!! 🎉. I will just have to sew on some straps and voila!
Chelsea! I did it! Thanks to you! Took me way longer than 15mins, yet it was my first zipper and I wasnt too intimidated. Thank you
Great job!
The reminders that you’re proud of us is healing my inner child ❤
This the first video I have seen of yours and I am a fan! I love your patience, calming voice, and your laugh! Thanks for great content 🥰
Thank you so much!
I thought exactly the same.😊
If you purchased 3 of the dish mats, you could make a tote bag. 2 for the body of the bag, square the ends and 1 mat for straps. With the mats vertically, they could be a bag to put library books in or horizontally sewn for more of a beach bag. If you needed a pocket for beach bag, the net laundry bag with zipper could be used. I love your makeup bag idea, just found your site, thanks for sharing your inspiration and imagination. ❤️
Love your idea of using the mesh for inside pockets.
Me too!
Going to the dollar tree after work today. I’m determined to learn zippers.
I made this for my granddaughter, i used the drying mat that has sea turtles on it!
Possibly a cute birthday gift for a young girl. And fill with a brush, comb, lip gloss or chap stick, coin purse, cloth handkerchief, possibilities are endless.
That is the first time in a while, I've heard someone mention cloth handkerchief, so glad someone else thinks of those, also if you know the receiptient personally, if they happen to wear glasses, a glasses cleaning cloth would be nice.
I thought this was going to be clickbait especially about the zipper. I thought oh sure we can make it under $2 if we have a zipper that we've taken out of some other garment or extra zippers just hanging around but no you actually purchased the Zipper by getting the mesh laundry bags! You are a genius! I live in a coastal area and can easily make the remaining mesh into a shell bag by just simply stitching the top over and threading through a drawstring! What is my drawstring? I have old t-shirts that I cut and make t-shirt yarn out of and I use it from anything from holding the fabric over my kombucha jars to holding up my tomato vines to making a drawstring for a shell bag!
I'm with you - all my "waste" fabric goes into ties for my tomato plants!
Ok, I made the typical rookie mistake …. I pulled off the zipper after the zipper sides are sewn on. Is there an easy way to put it back on . Queen of the ripper:) thanks
Nevermind….God just wanted to see me sweat a little!
That would be a good video idea tho right? @@maryabrams5872
Chelsea, can't thank you enough. I'm a beginner sewer and have never done a zipper before. This project and your fabulous instructions gave me the courage. I was successful & proud. The bag is adorable. Thank you for this!!! I'm disabled and trying to make items to sell. So please, keep these budget friendly ideas coming! Ok have to get back to sewing because I have 36 bags to make. 😂 Can't wait to make the sunglass case too! Keep up the awesome work! ❤❤❤️
Good for you!!! Keep up the good work!!
I love that you harvested the zipper from the mesh laundry bag, that’s so frugal. ❤ Adorable bag !
Thank you! 😊
I love that part too. Frugal is my middle name. LOL
I love your voice & laughter. You are a great teacher also! Thank you ❤️🎉

It feels like you're taking to me alone. Love your teaching.

I was raised by sewers..at some point they were disgusted with me that I couldn't learn to sew in a zipper..I was to get a A+in homeack..in H-school..but here I am . 60yrs old and I'm going to learn to sew that damm zipper..thanks to you..your a very good teacher ...thank you ❤️..here I go

@Veetribe. I, too, was raised by sewers! I started at 5-6 on my great grand’s treadle & here I am, still crappy at apparel but (sewing) crafts & making quilts I do a pretty good job! Now go get that machine!
I love this. I am a beginner. You are such a good teacher. Looking forward to more projects
Me too I am 71 and still scared to put in a zipper. Like what could happen? A broken needle....let's try it. I bet you can do it. ✌️🇨🇦 I believe in you😊 cheers
I was scared of sewing zippers as well. A friend walked me through it and I did it!
Finally someone who can show me how to sew!!!😊
I’m really bad at sewing…
My grandmother bought my sewing machine when i was in 7th grade, best investment ever. So enjoyed making all my clothes. Watching your videos make me want to find that Singer! Am 78 & still crafting, next time i go to Joannes for yarn, my feet will take me to the sewing machines instead! Great teacher!❤
All zippers are now only .99 at Hobby Lobby, no matter the size so if you cannot find the mesh at your Dollar Tree.
Great video.
Oh my! I'm adding a wide grograin ribbon handle into the side seam . These are fantastic! Thank you so much!
I love that you are proud of me! Thank you ! We need someone to be proud of us.

Did you ever teach a sewing class? Your instructions are easy to follow, and I love how you comment on how well everyone is doing making the project. The story about your 3 year old is so cute. I love your giggle, makes me smile. Thanks for the sewing project.
That sounds fun!! Maybe I should!
Check out libraries to find out if the host classes anytime and pay you for doing it
I just finished showing my 8 year old neighbor how to sew 2 gift card holders for his teachers and he was sooo happy! Can’t wait to show him this item, thank you!

@@PyrateWench84thank you so much!!
What a cute, easy make! You’re a wonderful teacher too.😊
Thank you! 😊
Great ideal! Simple project and instructions without the fuss of measuring and cutting several pieces of fabric. No fuss about sewing the lining at the right seam allowance to ensure it fits. Thank you for sharing.
You are so welcome!
Hi Chelsea, I just found your UA-cam channel today! LOVE the Watermelon Bag! Now, to get to Dollar Tree and get some of these. Thanks so much for sharing your talents with us! Terry
Welcome!! Glad you’re here!!!!
I am SO glad I found you😊 You’re Precious and I love your positivity ! Thank you for sharing ☺️🧵🪡
You are so welcome!
This is PERFECT for wet swimsuits during the summer!! Just throw in your swimsuits and bring them home. Toss them and the bag in the wash! I’m going to make one for each kid of mine. Thanks for the tutorial!!
Great idea!!
You're a breath of fresh air with your positive comments and enthusiasm! I wish you success on your channel
Thank you so much!
Love love this.. I have sewn since I was 12 and I am 64... I watched the whole video to get all the tips and now I am gonna have to. make some...
Thank you for these beginner projects. ♥️♥️♥️ your tutorials & personality ❣️
Your positivity is so great! Totally relatable and encouraging. I’m a fan! Thank you!
Thank you so much!
You do a good job of carefully explaining instructions for sewing this bag, for beginners!
I fold pot holders in half and sew on the lon side and one short side. They make great cases for your glasses and sunglasses, without having to finish any seams.😊
That's a great idea!
I just found your channel and I can’t stop watching. Your projects are so simple for a beginner and less expensive. Thank you for being a great teacher.
You are so welcome!
Great idea with the zipper! Genius!
I have a grandson coming in November. I will be making the tote bag and a few of these to go along with it! There are always so many little things that babies need, this will be great! Thanks for sharing. I'm gonna confess, I'm 64, and opt for no zippers, but you make it look easy.
You are so blessed with knowledge, happiness, joy, & LOVE, keep up the amazing videos ❤❤❤
I can sew but still learning little tricks. You are great!!! Simple, clear, happy and not patronising 💝
P.s I will use the net bit for fruit/vegies at shop.
I did it!!!!! And it came out SUPER CUTE 🥰 ❤❤❤❤
I think you bought all the cute dish mats, both stores here have nothing. Love watching your videos and enthusiasm. Cant wait to find a dish mat and make something.
Chelsea, you are delightful! This is my first time on your channel & I love how much fun your video is!!! So easy to follow. Thanks. ❤
You are so welcome!
Great idea. FYI. Hobby lobby has zippers for under 1$ all the time. Jic dollar tree does not have the mesh bags in stock.
You are an 😇 of a teacher. Thank you. Hope my dollar store has the material. Zippers are expensive now. Your idea of zippers is great.
I LOVE your instructions, voice, attitude, and story of your children. Great information which I will definitely share with my friends!!!! I will definitely continue to watch your videos!!!
Thank you so much!
I'm watching this May 31, 2024 at 17:30. You are almost at 20K. Yay!! You go girl!
Love all your doing!
Yay! Thank you!
I'm a cross stitcher but can sew little, I have been wanting to sew more. Going to do it. Thank you
This is a great sewing project for my granddaughter who is learning how to sew!!! Thanks!!!
You are an amazing teacher
Your awesome you are so positive and so funny! What a great video to come upon in the morning. I love that story about your son. My daughter was painfully shy it broke my heart. She is wonderfully friendly now. But I guarantee your son gets his great personality from you. Great job!!!
Thank you so much!!
I just found you and I really enjoyed this video. I’m 86 and still making quilts but I love small projects and I love this one. I have family members who have trailers and one has a Sailboat. This would be perfect for them. Thanks for easy tutorial and your laughter.
Thank you for sharing this very pretty little zipper bag. I love your happy attitude. You lift me up! Blessings ❤❤❤❤❤
You are so welcome
Adorable. I want to do this and add crossbody straps to it so it can be a bag for quick trips to the high street with just a few things in there. Great video. ❤
That’s a great idea.
Soooo cute I would line it with something waterproof to use for a wet swimsuit bag . Thanks for the idea.
You’re welcome 😊
Chelsea thank you for your very pleasant way of teaching. This will get me back into sewing😊
I so love watching your posts. You are a wonderful teacher. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
Such a great idea! I've been sewing for years and I've never made a little zipper bag. I can't wait to try this out! Thanks!!!😊
Hi Chelsea, I really enjoy watching your videos!! You are fun and very easy to follow!!
Glad you like them!
Made this bag with the same watermelon drying mat! Love it and so easy to do!
Wonderful!
I already have a pouch problem, so knowing this is so easy to make is going to make that collecting problem worse, LOL
I just randomly found your channel tonight and im so glad i did. I cannot wait to make one of these. Thank you for sharing!
You are a natural teacher. I love the tutorial… I am going to make me some of these. ❤️❤️❤️
Please do!
I don’t know how I found your video, but I am so happy I did. You have a teaching style that makes me wanna be friends! Awesome idea! Awesome teaching! Thank you for your time! I do appreciate it!❤
I'm so glad!
I love watching you so much. You make me smile and I want to run to Dollar Tree. 😄
😊 thank you
I just love you! When you chuckle, you're so cute! Sent you $2.00 because you save me $6.00 of "ideas", "patterns" & entertainment too!! Hoping others will do the same, you deserve it my dear! WTG! ❤️
You're the best! Thank you SEW much!! 💕
Instead of cutting to box the corners, instead draw a line where you would cut on just 1 side. After sides and bottom are sewed, you then form the corner and sew on the line. Presto, the seam is still finished!
This idea worked great! I used the green sea turtle design, and it turned out super cute!
That's great!
I’ve been wanting to make a kindle sleeve and this is the perfect material and bag size! So cute!!
Go for it!
What an awesome idea! That would make a great IPad carrier as well. You could even put handles on it if you wish!
Hi Chelsea, these will be perfect for me to make for the teachers at church for Christmas. If I start now, I might get them ALL done😁
Just found you and so glad I did. I love your attitude. I've been sewing for over 45 years but I now love easy quick projects especially for gift giving ideas. Will be looking forward to more videos from you. ❤
Welcome!! Glad to have you here!
I LOVE this craft idea!! Now I will be on the "hunt" for cute Dry Mats!!
Sewing zippers is the next thing on my list to learn to do in my sewing journey. I think I always just have a fear of wasting or missing something up so this project is very affordable and I won’t feel bad if I mess it up the first couple of tries. Thank you.
Don’t feel bad! Messing them up is actually how you get good at them!!!
Great. Commentary for beginners. I teach adults they need a lot of simple instructions. Yours are great
I’m going to the Dollar Tree today 😊
Right now at the dollar tree there are seat cushions with watermelon print. And the foum reminds me of the foum they uses in the piecekeepers bag
I love your giggle. Makes me smile! Thank you for being you!!
I’m making some for period bags for my granddaughters. Cute, cheap & easy! Also a great project to get back into the groove of sewing. Thank you!
OMG!!!! I just made this bag!!! First time ever sewing a zipper. I couldn’t find the netted bags for the zipper so I grabbed a pink binder pouch with a pink zipper. Looks so cute 😊 I will try to post on IG.
Wonderful!!!
This is the second video of yours that I’ve watched and now saved. Can’t wait till my house hold goods get here (just relocated to the US from Germany) so I can get my machine out and make some of these! Excellent tutorial!
Getting my sewing machine back from being in South Korea was the longest wait of my life 😅 Welcome back and I hope everything arrives safely and quickly!
Thank you! Apparently our hhg has been delayed. 😢 We got notified today that it was out at sea and then recalled etc etc. I am tempted to buy a small brother or singer nothing fancy.
@@AnExpatKnitsoh no! I got an inexpensive Singer from the PX for $99 to use while my machine was getting fixed 🤞🏽 that you can find one.
I could also make it without the boxed corners for passport pouches for my clients as a gift and as a bonus, the fun patterns would be easy to spot. Thank you for the great idea! I will let you know how it goes since I have been slightly afraid of zippers.
That's a great idea!
This would be super cute and useful if you put a Loop or wristlet on it.
You’re so patient and creative. Love your fun quirky personality.
You make it fun to try for the first time! Thank you 🎉 😁
😊 thank you
Hope you always stay the way you are with your teaching methods. Calm, easy to follow and no nonsense, I get tired of tutorials that just become a social media romp for the instructor. Thank you for your great tutorial, appreciate the hint to save money on zippers! You’ve made me a subscriber!😊
I appreciate that!
Bought the watermelon mat yesterday, made it today and gave it to my daughter tonight. Great video had fun making it. Thank you for sharing!
That’s awesome!!!! Good work!
The dish mats available in Poundland are bright yellow. This would be lovely although the laundry bags are only sold singly, but they do have yellow zips! Can't wait for school to be done here then I'll have more sewing time. Thank you for the ideas. 💖
😊love watching you sew and love the way you explain things so keep making so I can learn more
Thank you, I will
