Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica review - the Goldilocks zone Huracan?

- The Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica is a £204k run-out special before the V10 supercar's hybridised replacement arrives in the coming months.
The Tecnica is a stepping stone between the fine, fluid, road-leaning Huracán Evo RWD and the Huracán STO, which is the nightmarish track-day flyweight of the range and a truly awesome supercar in just the right circumstances.
At 1379kg, its dry weight is just 10kg less than that of the Evo RWD. Its 5204cc naturally-aspirated V10 engine makes 631bhp at a screaming 8000rpm and that's enough to propel it from 0-62mph in 3.2sec and on to a 202mph top speed.
But what is it like on uniquely challenging UK roads? Our tester Richard Lane takes to the road to find out.

I own one too. Put 1300 miles on the car since June. I love the car and having driven the EVO and the STO, I truly believe this is the car that will be a legend of the future. the balance, track ability, RWD, the dual clutch, rear wheel steering system, LDVI system, ALA everything is just perfection. it is 45 pounds lighter than the STO (despite contrary belief) it is such a joy to drive. I was planning to sell it with in 6 months and now I have started to realize what a legend this car is. this is the THE BEST Huracan ever developed.
I own one too. I find the seats extremely uncomfortable, the steering dull at the centre, the damping is terrible on average roads, and there's an odd metallic rattle from the engine above 6800 rpm. I also own an Aventador and a Ferrari 458. They are faultless by comparison.
@@RalphOK I dont hear the rattle you talking about maybe get it checked out. The valves are closed below the 4200 RPM range so thats a negative but you can get the switch installed for 500$ which keeps it open all the time. I live in California maybe the roads are more smoother but I find it extremely comfortable as compared to my R8 V10 which is so much more stiff with the fixed suspension on the same roads.
I got one 3 months ago Ive put 300 miles on it and love it. Its quite like a buick under 5000 rpm even in Corsa but my dealer disabled the valves for me and they are always open now and it is epic all the time!

Absolutely love this car and I’m surprised Autocar doesn’t like the brakes??
They’ll stop on a dime and unlike a McLaren you don’t need to push your foot through the firewall to stop.

As a technica owner they’re phenomenal; biggest gripe for me is the accelerator pedal feel in the centre of the footwell and causes buttock cramp about 100 miles driving

The steering, suspension and braking are all amazing for a supercar if u drive it properly. If you want a soft and comfortable car buy a URUS SUV
Suspension is more towards STO than EVO, so it isn't most comfortable supercar to enjoy the driving experience. EVO RWD is much more enjoyable for a RWD Huracán.
@@amarjit_singh_ya agreed but a person who can afford a Lambo will probably have a comfortable car like a s class or Maybach or smth

Agree with your assessment that the Huracan can be driven on small European back roads. It’s the number reason why I’d never upgrade(?) to the Aventador/Revuelto. I prefer a smaller footprint when driving a sports cars. My only two complaints with my EVO RWD is the poor turning radius compared to my big P, and the garbage Sensonum stereo. Outside of that, the Huracan is absolutely epic! Cheers/B

Proper old school N/A V10 supercar. Stick your heavy and boring hybrids
Wonderful car. Choose the comfort seats, Have FM radio fitted.
Far from being in no mans land its the SWEET SPOT. Best parts of both STO and RWD.
RWD is too soft, STO is too harsh whereas Tecnica is spot on.
Way better than both my Ferrari F8 and Mclaren 720S
Sorry to say this isn't better than a F8, as an overall car, the naturally aspirated V10 does sound good but the handling is nowhere to that of the lighter F8!
F8 sounds like a vacuum cleaner. Was given one by Ferrari for 4 days test drive and gave it back lunchtime on day 2 it was so boring@@amarjit_singh_
@@gazzabrownhigh8891 Sorry to disagree again, F8 is one of the better sounding cars with a turbocharged engine! Sure thing bud, Ferrari gave you a F8 for test drive, on the internet anyone can claim anything!
Turbocharged cars dont sound a patch on N/A cars and even for TT the F8 was poor whereas my Mclaren 675LT with 200 cel sports cats sounds epic with pops and bangs on up and downshifts. That said my Tecnica, F355 GTS manual with capristo and stock 430 Scuderia all sound way better. Shame internet comments are restricted to supercar owners rather than dreamers @@amarjit_singh_

I clearly said the Huracán sounds better than the F8 because it's naturally aspirated while I said that the F8 sounds great for a car with turbocharged engine. If you think a GT3 is overhyped then I don't need to debate who is a dreamer and who is a supercar owner.
We have so many URUS'S and Ferrari's around here in Marbella... The odd Mclaren or proper lambo is a welcome site

This or the performante?
Swapped Performante for Tecnica and as much as I loved the Perf the Tecnica has moved the game on again. RWD with RWS is sublime and steering is a massive improvement. Definitely lighter and nimbler without 4WD
Drove the Tecnica and felt an EVO RWD could do the job equally good. If you're looking for an AWD Huracán, Performante is just perfect. Between the two, it's the Performante, it can be enjoyed on the track and has AWD which makes it a bit more practical than the Tecnica.
@@amarjit_singh_ I've owned both and as good as the Performante is the Tecnica is better. Better steering, better handling with RWS and far lighter and nimbler without the heavy understeering AWD system
@@gazzabrownhigh8891 Sorry I have to disagree, RWD makes it unstable, too heavy even for a RWD car and it loses the practicality that the Performante offers! On the internet, anyone can claim they own this or that and that can never be authenticated!

Lamborghini went to stupid levels inorder to be different, uncomfotable seats, stiff suspension, no space to put stuff, very little head room, outdated electronics blah blah blah...
The Huracan replacement will solve these issues as did the Revuelto for the Aventador.

GT3 is another overhyped boring Porsche, dont get me wrong its a nice SPORTS car but its not a SUPERcar and never will be

Instead the Technica is the overrated car, EVO RWD gets the job done in a far better manner! And looking at your preference for Lamborghini, seems like you cannot drive as Lamborghinis are the perfect cars for people who can't drive!
