Perfect steet engine. Just idle everywhere and shift for more speed.
Call it the economy model, since you’ll never have to use the gas pedal. Lmao
🤣🤣🤣 right!!!
Yes
When I had my ls2 gto that's about how I drove it to annoy tailgaters
@Steve Gregg Guaranteed it makes more than just 100hp idling. I'd say it probably has at least 300 at idle. It's 1650 at only 6500 rpm.
Dear Santa...I have been a really good boy this year
NOT GOOD ENOUGH ..
Rpm limiter 10000 ?
@@szymon6207 oh hell no

FAACTS.
engine building is an awesome art form and huge props to anyone whose ever built one at any size. We really need to get this next generation to take interest in doing this.
The avg American cant afford a sheet of plywood right now.
I'm the next gen and I love v8 s trying to bring my friends into it to
i race wissota midwest modifieds and i been getting into motors big time lately only 22 rn been watching motor building videos every day only V8s of course lol
@@babygoose7178 yeah v8s any engine so long it is not inline 3.
Ha!! In 2020 i was supposed to go to a national tournement for auto mechanics because i was able to fully dis-assemble and re-assemble a pushrod 4-cylinder all while explaining what the purpose of each different part was. Sadly they let all schools out early and i never got to compete. This still makes me sad 2 years later
Would be very interested in seeing it run in whatever it ended up in.
ua-cam.com/video/ONsPY11GOeI/v-deo.html
One ended up in a corvette if you can find the video but it wasnt driven
Id love to see the torque curve on that.
@Wayne Smith yup. 300 to 950 between idle and.....1500? 😆 🤣 😂
And the next video is the world's biggest gas tank!
LoL
That engine should be mounted in a pickup truck so the entire truck bed can be made into a gas tank.
larry785 lol. good 1
Naw... Install the engine in the middle of the truck bed actually... It would be a wheelie machine... Like the one from the 70's
This engines fuel mileage wouldn’t be rated in miles per gallon but gallons per mile!
Lots of power and and good old V8 sound.
Looks like nice mild street build. Good swap for slant 6 duster
16.5l....... damn
When It throws a rod, it's gonna destroy that guy that's screwing with the Throttle.
if you are still alive, how you know this?
@AugustoV8Cesar Multiply or divide by 61 to make the conversion between liters and cubic inches.
I reckon the Space Shuttle has better MPG
I reckon, to start, it would get better than 0 miles per gallon if it were attached to something that actually moved.
Pianoman 70s style
Bahahaha!!! Valid point you have there :)
+Pianoman 70s style Like a prop on a jet boat, but the prop would be on the back of the car. That way, when the BLM racists block the road, you just put them through the meat grinder.
don rutter , hell yeah
also power engines are not about mpg
Grindin' the dark meat...
Man that would really help a mini bike to go to the liquor store faster...
HAR! Or even into a riding lawn mower for the weekly whiskey and ammunition and whiskey run!
excellent throttle response.induction growl is awsome
Now THIS is what I'm talking about. See all those guys on UA-cam building 'the worlds smallest V8'. Pah, they are heading in the wrong direction!
lol, some of the fastest shit i seen on the track is in the 300+ ci range. Theres alot to be said about less weight overall and so forth when you want to go fast.
Yeah, this is a bad ass engine, so is the supercharged 331 i heard first, then saw at el paso.
Shit sounded like star wars going by.
No replacement for displacement.
smaller V8s mean more stupid possiblities.
like my dream, a 2L V8 hybrid motorcycle. >:]

How Cool . You re-built the Engine out of Grandpa Munsters Car . Outstanding .
Brings a whole new meaning to "no replacement for displacement"
The only thing better than cubic inches are rectangular dollars. I got that one from a guy 30+ years ago with a BMW rated at 440hp but it was a sleeper. The guy had cars with big engines too though.
yes there is - especially when it is a 2 valve pushrod moron motor...

nice work, quick revving too!
That would go well transplanted mid engine into a VW Beetle. Give new meaning to the term "All Motor."

Just what I need for my old S10.
I think you forgot about the Napier Bentleys, they were 24 liters, that's about 1465 CUI :) but its still a beast, now lets get it in a road car :)
The Ford Motor Company was making 32 valve (18L.} V8's.......in the 40's.. for different tank applications.

Yes.. But,those big, clunky engines redlined below 3,000 rpm and had a power output of about 19 h.p.

That beast is a beauty!

"street engine"
Actually that Motor is a Sonnys Racing 1005 cu in Chevy Hemi, and he also builds a smaller Cube Engine like it for a NHRA class Race Car along with an 727, 729, and 802 cu in Hemi that looks exactly the same as the 1005 except the 1005 had Double Injectors. and Car Tech may have put the motor together but the Heads and many components including the Intake is built Right at Sonny's Racing Engines. The 727 is 1270 HP and that one is considered a FORD.
There are also 959, 903, 864, and many others
Love the motor. Emissions or not. That thing would be bad ass on the track.
Beautiful
There have been many road going engines of greater displacement, especially among diesels. Check out the old DD 12v92tt engines --2stroke, supercharged and turbocharged diesels. Not the most efficient but they make a glorious noise at full throttle.
2 stroke diesels... supercharged or turbocharged have been the most efficient for decades... That is why they ate used in generating plants. Maybe you are referring to some truck engine from the early 60's?
That throttle response. Revs almost like a stock car. It's surely making a lot per inch so I'd guess 1500-2000 peak horsepower.
this is definitely a drag engine so probably making close 2k now they need to spray it
actually did some research makes 1600 on e85
@@noahstuart4046 You know the 5.4L in the Ford Gt wasn't a drag engine either, but can be tuned to 2500hp.

yohan strauss a stock 2jz will never produce more power than this thing is making just sitting there at idle... also, you cant compare a production engine to a special built engine, its like comparing your girlfriends valentines day "show" to a strip club in vegas... you just cant do it
Hey hidden?
Not to tell you how to think, bro,
but the quality of the reactor could have been fenominal, for all we know.
The problem is that a nation built on nothing but shifting tectonic plates thinks they need something that really ought to be built on solid ground somewhere less at the mercy of the nearby(surrounding) ocean. But, hell, they got ALL DONE building the WPPS plant in Satsop, WA off St. Rt. 8on the way to Aberseen and ONLY THEN figured out it was on a fault line. Bottom line:
Stupid know no borders or budget.

Oh crap it's quick!!👍
Funny how a lot of people comment and they've never even put together a Briggs & Stratton lawn mower engine
Certainly huge. And, don't get me wrong...I think this engine is incredible... But, it's not the "biggest" street engine. More than one person has already put a Rolls Royce Merlin in a car and driven it on the street. The Merlin is a 1650 cubic inch V12.
+RoninTXBR549 The Packard Marine V12 was classified as 2500 Cubic Inch but really only were 2490 Cubic Inch Can you imagine three of those side by side running full throttle. and when they were running at night they would only run one motor not only to save fuel but since they were running close proximity to Islands occupied by the Japanese they need to run quiet.. My Father was in the Army Air Corps in the South Pacific in the islands around New Zealand and was in Motor Pool and worked on everything from Packard V12 PT Boats, Rolls Royce Merlin Plane Engines and your Typical Dodge 6X6 but the Dodge Design was also built by Studebaker, and GM..Not sure about ford. but I am sure Ford was building something... General Motors in Linden New Jersey was building Planes and would tow the planes across Highway RT 1 to what is now Linden Airport...
RoninTXBR549 I'd bet my life that this engine makes more power and that it's way easier to reproduce. Plus street engine means it's made to be put into cars that are able to drive on the street. Plane engines don't count
This engine was designed and built for a car though. An aircraft engine is an aircraft engine.
how many horses is that thing pushing?

Very few applications for the torque this motor must make at full throttle! You know, rotating the planet, powering a locomotive, how about shutting up the mouth of a jerk in my town with a 1300 HP GTR !! NOW THAT would be with it!!:-)

Rule 1 for Horsepower building - there is No replacement for displacement
Rotating the planet is a good application
"Leonard machined the block and heads, gathered up the proper cam, crank and induction system, along with the necessary hardware and accessories - and shipped the package to Peter Thau of CarTek in Denmark."
John Dodd built "The Beast", a street legal car with a Merlin V12. 27L, 1647 Cubes, back in the '70s.
can you put that in a prius?
izzy ravenlock. Think of the size of the generater it could power. 2'000 volts anyone.
Yes, 2 of them!
There are many, many productions engines of around that size (about 16.5 litres in metric) and bigger. I have no idea why people want to make these clearly untrue claims on UA-cam - perhaps to sell lots of clicks to advertisers? The other day there was someone claiming to have made the world's biggest outboard motor and it was really not even close even if it was a very nice piece of machinery. It's a shame people can't just be honest about their projects.
Do you even know what you're talking about? Since you know of so many production engines in that size, who exactly manufactures them? I'm assuming you're referring to heavy equipment engines, which are that big and yes are also bigger, but would never be referred to as a "street engine".
Also, didn't you know that everything posted on the internet is entirely true? Its in the Geneva conventions.
Brian Fabrizio Caterpillar makes diesels up to 200 Liters in displacement for electric power generation. You can re purpose many of the smaller diesels for use in a car, with heavy modification, the same way it would require modification to use this engine in any car.
Sound like you think youtube is the only web page on the internet.
I agree Dude, when I was a kid there were quite a few aero-engined specials that aped the mamoth auto-engined racers of the early 20thC. Putting massive plant and truck engines into cars was also popular. There was another UA-cam clip made by people claiming to make the biggest outboard motor in the world but they had clearly never seen V12 longtails storming up the ChaoPraya river.
Brian Fabrizio
Well, leaving Diesels out of the way (largest being the Wartsila Sulzer RTA96C 14 cylinders, 107390 hp@102RPM for 25480l of displacement, and a few million foot-pounds of torque) the largest gasoline engine I know about is the P&W Wasp Major; 71.5l displacement for 3500hp in some of it's variants (largest production engine, as there were a few test engines for the B36 that were larger, but "one of a kind" thingies). I think in the 30's Fiat also made a race car that used a 28l engine, but I doubt it was a "production" engine.
I imagine the biggest motorboat engine would be on the biggest ship. The engines are the size of a gymnasium.
amazing piece of mechanical engineering capable of reaching power outputs up to 101hp!
rather SICK ....effn coool man

Probably 2 gallons to the mile ! LOL
kick ass look at motor though looks like a Top Fuel motor almost
This is used in his 1968 Corvette.. Awesome
Street engine? I don't think so. Probably won't pass Cali emissions.
Please tell me you're trolling just a little.
If you put it in a car made before 1975 it doesnt matter, they are exempt from any emissions tests. That is why you see twin turbo LS7s making over 1k HP straight piped out of the turbos in 1969 camaros... NO SMOG...
When they are saying street engine, i think they mean it is streetable. It can be put in a car and driven around with no problems. Unlike many engines built specifically for a race application, many tend to not idle well and get very hot if they sat at a light or only went 35-50mph between lights. This thing can idle well and has big enough water ports to keep itself cool, is probably what they meant to some extent.
4theloveofDub
Air Injection Reactor (smog pumps) were factory equipment on 67-69 Camaros and they didn't have turbos until 1982. Pretty sure this engine doesn't have an emissions testing rap sheet.
4theloveofDub
Steet-ability isn't just idle speed and cooling. What engine compartment can fit without modification this big of a block? Or the weight? What "street" transmission could handle that much torque?
Ford has been making 1100 CID gas engines for 60+ years used in tanks and natural gas compressor equipment "www.fordgaaengine.com/GAA-021.jpg"
you should put that engine in a 68 camaro
How about a 69 corvette with som modification, shown in the latest video I mentioned earlier
