- In this video we look at how to fit the Land Rover Freelander 2 / LR2 side tube bars / rock sliders. We have these for sale on our website :-
www.powerfuluk.com/vehicles/l... - Авто та транспорт
Just done this today using the kit brought from powerfuluk, went really well great video, I brought a sealey rivnut gun tool but you would need to be hercules in order to compress the rivnuts luckily it came with a selection of m3-m6 aluminium rivnuts which where much easier to compress albeit still a struggle. If anyone attempts this with a rivnut gun then use Aluminum m6 nuts trust me it will save a lot of choice words!!
You raise a good point - the rivnut tool is tricky - on the later Evoque model land rover have made hexagonal holes so you can fit rivnuts without a tool !
Nice....
Would the side bars be able to be fitted to existing side step brackets or are they a completely different placement/fitment?
What size are the clips that perhaps break are they 8 mm ? great video overall
Will these ever be back in stock ? Thanks
Considering these. Actually use our FL2 for off-roading and overlanding quite a bit. If you look underneath the vehicle, do these reduce the vehicle's ground clearance?
Yes I certainly wouldn't recommend these if you want to off road!
are these bars just bling or will they be good enough for rock sliders
They are strong enough to stand on and have a steel frame but the aluminium will scratch on the outer surface if rock sliding !
Where can I get these bars or just the mounting brackets? I didn't see them on the website.
Hi Matt
Sorry we do not stock these anymore - there was too much competition on these.
Perhaps not quite as slick as some of your past efforts, but a good video nonetheless. Maybe the owner of that Freelander should consider undersealing their car soon though!
Hi - it was a bit more involved that some of the other videos and so it does ramble a bit. The Freelander 2 is one of our company project cars - it lives inside and does not go on the road much - it just gets pulled apart !
They look upside dwn too much gap
