Great video guys as always but sometimes I feel you zoom in far to close to understand where about's you are on the car. I'm fitting these rails in the morning so I'm just gonna go with what I can understand.
For an off-road family car. It’s super annoying that some of these FL2’s don’t come with roof bars already. Or a way to install a roof rack without needing the rails
Hi there, was wondering if you knew the process for taking one off. I have purchased the four fur tree fixings and the two bolts as well to replug everything. Was wondering what part of the trim needs to be replaced as I take it they have had holes drilled in them?
Found in the original LR instructions and confirmed it's fairly easy to remove the bolts and drill the holes in the plastic strip by leveraging up the front of the strip and not having to remove it fully. Had problems with other fir tree plugs breaking so this might save a little effort. When drilling I simply placed a piece of wood under the plastic strip and drilled though to that. LR recommended a 24mm hole saw bit but I used a 22mm spade bit which worked fine.
This is the $1,000,000 question and it had me totally baffled why Land Rover have different part number for these with and without sunroof.... so i purchased 2 genuine sets and set about to work out the difference !... the result.... its just a rubber strip used to reduce wind noise on the cross bar ! so dont worry about it !
Hello, I am trying to install the roof rack But somehow the back Treads are very rusted and found some damage and I am not able to put the bolts there, is there any solution that you recommend?
Morning guys, could I ask a quick question about roof rails with panoramic roof. I've read that non panoramic bars won't fit due to the sunroof glass catching on the front mounting. Is this true or false. Will non panoramic bars fit on a car with panoramic glass? Cheers Paul.
Hi Paul - this is a question that puzzled me so much i purchased a set of both types of genuine roof rack and looked for the differences - the only difference i could see was a rubber strip on the underside of the cross bar that i guess is to do with noise on the pano roof version - so basically there is no difference between the 2 types !
@@L663 Hi Simon, and team, thanks for the advice I can confirm that non panoramic bars do fit and even though I ordered geniune non panoramic version (I work at a land rover centre, so get them at cost) they have come with the rubber strips on the cross bar. So my guess is that they have superceded them but forgot to update the system. Thanks again to you for your advice. Keep coming up with the great products and videos.
Hi, I ordered the roof rack but the existing screw housing on the roof are rusty therefore the screw M6x38 could not fit. Can you supply the existing screw housing x 4 for me?

What is the difference between the roof rails to a freelander 2 with a panoramic sunroof and a freelander 2 without panoramic sunroof?
Where can I get hold or replacement side plastic covers for my original rails?

Hello chaps had an issue when removing the plugs out of the rear part of sill is there any way you can get replacments parts for these?.
Is it the sealing plug that goes in the hole you need ?

A fine wood screw in a drilling machine and carefully removing the remaining plastic.
