- In this video we look at how to remove the rear bumper on a Land Rover Freelander 2 / LR2. This could be handy if you are fitting a tow bar or fixing your parking sensors etc.

Excellent presentation, like that you have a younger gentleman helping and learning. Just about to remove and rebuild the rear end of a Freelander for my daughter.
About to do a towbar, thankyou for your efforts
Good luck
Got to be one of the best how to videos I’ve ever watched on UA-cam! Excellent work, you need to buy a Mercedes A class and make loads of videos on that.
Good video; clear and easy to follow. Great work.
Good work…but an old exFarmer Freelander might be filled with wet mud for years….mine rarely got wet but if I had it, I would be out there cleaning it like you have! Stay safe…😃😃😃😃😃Richard
Buy Tyler a microphone👍🏻
Yes I hear you.... just you cant hear Tyler
Nice video!
Love the speed version at the start 👍🏻
Nothing like as fast as the bumper refit at the end!! ;-)
Hi Guys, when removing the the top scrivets from the bumper please don't lever off the bumper, there s a chance you could split the top of the bumper, instead lever up the centre part of the scrivet not the whole of them, that way the centre comes out which can be throwed away and replace with stainless steel screws when re-fitting, good clear video.
They are horrible ! it was hard to get the center part up as they are flush with the outer part.
Thank you for the video. in the process of rust protection the whole under side.
Was wondering how to get the bumper off, very helpful. Regards from the Netherlands.
Very helpful thanks again
Glad it helped !
Awsum vid boys🤙🏽🤙🏽any chance of vid for front drivers door actuator removal please 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽Thankyou
I don't own a FL2...still enjoyed the vid :)
Thanks for the video!
No worries!
Many thanks for your videos where is the buzzer for parking sensor located on freelander 2 2010
Hi 👋 very nice 👍 video
🙏🙏
Great video cheers Simon/ Tyler....would you know where the fl2 remote central locking reciever is td4 xs...trying g to get my new key to work the locks everything else works but just not the fob buttons on both new keys used autel ap200 cheers
I was thinking how good that silver Freelander would look with your "Black Edition" RRS style rear lights - only to see you no longer have them on the website. As I have these on my on mine (and bloody good they look too !) , would I be able to get a replacement if mine ever got damaged ?
At the same time as removing and cleaning the rear bumper, it's a good idea to also remove the D pillars too. It's amazing how dirty they can get behind there and it also means you can clean the whole of the rear side windows !
Cheers Simon and Tyler. Another great video.
There are dark forces at work at the moment.
Spares will be available
Would a video of how to get to the drivers seat airbag be possible please ?
This is going to be super helpful in the next week or so, towbar to fit to 2013 FL2. It's got the sports bumper but I assume will be the same fitting points. Did you disconnect the battery for any of this work?
So I followed this and apart from rusted screws on the bottom of the bumper, the rest came apart easy.
I've go no parking sensors when put it all back together though, and I was very careful removing all.
The other issue is, the two bolts, one each side outside (internal) edge of bumper just below light unit. securing the top internal side area of the bumper, tight to get out, no idea how to get them back in to the fixed bolt you tighten. Can see them in this vid, but weren't included on how you removed and put them back. Ahh, maybe they aren't for the actual bumper... I'll replace when it's off again.
Got to do it all again on Friday to fit the towbar...
Great video Simon, thanks. Do you guys want to put your ninja skills together to design a swing away spare wheel carrier for the FL2?
I have a normal spare wheel under the floor - what is the desire for a spare wheel carrier ?
@@L663 For extra storage in the boot, e.g. leisure battery, charging system, etc. This subject has come up frequently in FL2 groups and I am sure there would be quite a few takers.
Hi Simon, can you do a video on removing the interior front light surround please, my sunroof doesn't work and I want check the wiring, I've tried getting my fingers underneath the plastic trim but I can't seem to move it, I would appreciate it if you could demonstrate how it's removed, thanks.
Mine is hanging out - just did this - no problem will get this done next week !
Hi, thank you for this video - it has been so helpful! I dented my bumper and was quoted £1000 to renew it but I thought I could push it out but didn't know how to get at it. But by removing the light as showed I could get into the dent and push it out! Only problem is that I need to know how the parking sensors fit as they don't seem to be sitting in the holes, they are very loose when I pushing them into the holes. How are they mean to be secured? Thanks
The parking sensors sit in a bezel and they have little "tabs" on the bumper that secure the sensors in place.
@@L663 thank you for replying. The sensors seem to sit in a oblong thing which I’ve decided to glue to the back of the bumper. It’s all good and I wouldn’t have been able to fix the dent without your video! 😊
I have a question about the rear chrome trim piece on the rear hatch, how were you able to change the chrome to a glossy black color piece?
we have them on our website PowerfulUK.com
here is the video
ua-cam.com/video/tBjqoddx8JA/v-deo.html
You fell straight into our sales trap !
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Where did you get the re moulds from they look like BFGOODRICH AT's tread pattern. How much where they?
Can you please make a video for Evoque interior B pillar removal? There is no info about this on UA-cam. Thank you!
Front door or rear door or both
We did this on the Sport L494 and it was a nightmare !
@@L663 Thank you for your reply. I am referring to B pillar trim (to replace seatbelt). 😀
Simon.
Looking at the similarity in shape to the Disco 4 bumper, would it be the same process to remove the Disco bumper?
We can do a Disco 4 rear bumper removal if you like... what is your reason for removing the bumper out of interest
Simon.
I have a swing away spare carrier on the rear. I would like to reassure myself that the cross member is in good condition to carry the extra weight.(I wasn't present when it was fitted). The plan was to go to the arctic circle this summer, but maybe next year.
@@martinbradshaw692 Make sure to fit mudflats and consider paintwork protection film because the roads can disappear for months. They repair them by digging and removing the entire road down to the gravel foundations then leave the permafrost to thaw out for about two months during which time it is just driving through rubble! Then they rebuild the entire road surface again ready for the winter but driving through that gravel is concerning and can go on for 10-15 miles at a time…at very regular intervals. Good luck…suitably prepared, it is an experience to remember! 😃😃😃😃
Many thanks for your advice. Much appreciated.
