I’ve had a G70 for just about 4 years, and couldn’t be happier. It had a couple of minor issues at the beginning, but all covered under warranty. Better yet, with their concierge service, it was no inconvenience to me at all; they picked up my car from my house, left me a loaner G70, and returned it back to my house when finished. At every regular maintenance, same thing, and i dont have to deal with any of the BS high pressure sales tactics for unnecessary work; they take it away, bring it back, no hassle. I love the car too; my lease is up next year and I’m hoping to get the GV70 coupe. Highly recommend Genesis and ive had nothing but positive experiences
Bs high pressure sales tactics 😂😂😂 are you still living in 1995? Not having your personal car is a huge inconvenience. You sound like a typical boomer buying an appliance.
You captured Genesis in a word at 21 minutes 28 seconds- “Wow!” When I first saw the GV60 at Fully Charged UK live 2022 Farnborough - that is the word I used and the word I heard used by countless others when they first got into the car. The great tech is taken as read, the building quality is a pleasant surprise, the ergonomics are fantastic ( switches, dials, knobs, stalks, etc ) but the interior materials, colour scheme and design are “wow”! Thanks for a great review. This is the second one of your mechanic review’s I’ve watched - you’ve got a new subscriber. Proud owner of a GV60 for the last 2 years and nothing on the market in that time has taken my eye in the same way.
Decent vehicle. Was going to purchase 2024 until dealership (Western Canada - Winnipeg) changed the price and finance terms. Dealership not concerned with questionable approach to customer service. First time I had to walk away from an “agreed” deal and know Im not the only one with this particular dealership. GV 70 is a nice vehicle but dealership experience continues to need improvement in Canada in my experience. Great technical video.
I owned an ICE GV70 Sport Prestige for a year. I sold it after 5 service issues and an intermittent power steering issue that wouldn’t last long enough to be fixed.
The thing I found about front adjustable seats control for the passenger is that its actually really useful. My wife likes to put the passenger seat all the way back and leaning. When I transport kids or have stuff in the back seat I can move the passenger seat forward easily without having to get out and walk all the way around to the other side to do it. It is more useful than it seems. I don't know why people worry kids will play with the seat buttons. Just be a good parent and train your kids have respect for others. Most kids don't even care about it anyways and prefer to look at their phone, not a single kid has messed with it since I had my car.
You are winning me over this car. I am Jeep GC Overland fan for many years. I lease one now for 24 months, to try the Plug-in HB. I love the car, but I hate the gas/ev concept. Will never do this again. I will not touch full EV till they reach, one day soon, 4-500 miles charge. I will stay with gas for now. I am going to give Genesis the chance on the V6 block. Everytime I watch a review on threm, its a pleasure to hear the positive on them.
I own a 2015 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 and it has performed flawlessly. One of the reasons I bought it was because of its interior. It feels like a very expensive car. My boss's boss was in it once and kept looking around at the interior, not knowing about the car, and he said he was wondering if he was paying me too much! I also love the v8. I'm surprised there hasn't been more recognition of the G80 sedan. It's solid, fast, and very quiet on the road.
The need for larger brakes on EVs are necessary despite that regen braking exists, because it’s an added safety measure. You need a lot more friction to stop 5000+ lbs, which a single-piston or even dual-piston caliper won’t have the physical force or thermal capacity to minimize braking distance to prevent an accident.
Get the gas 2.5t version for almost half the price of the EV (~$46k). It does 300hp with a ton of low end torque. In sports mode, this SUV drives like an agile sports sedan (it's based on the excellent G70). Super responsive and fun without the range anxiety and charging issues of EVs. I got one (advanced trim) about a month ago and absolutely love it. Would love to see a mechanic breakdown of the gas model.
I’m liking what you’re saying, I have a 2023 Kia Sportage with a 2.5L engine, it’s not turbo charged, but it’s the SmartStream Engine, meaning it has dual fuel injection, MPI & GDI, thus eliminating the carbon buildup, that ruins the performance, reliability & costly repairs, which happens to EVERY GDI Engine especially German Engines. Point the 2.5L engines from Genesis & Kia don’t have the carbon buildup 😊, and have very reliable engines, I stumbled upon this fact after I got my Kia Sportage and I’m very pleased of this result. I’m planning on getting every bit of my 100K warranty. I’ve already put 10K miles on my car since purchased in July 2023, highway miles to & from work. Loving my car, again Good 👍🏾 Work Genesis and Kia.
I bought a 2023 GV70 2.5L Sport Prestige and it is awesome. More than enough power and the interior/exterior design is great. Fantastic warranty too. Looked at comparible models from BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Acura and it was an easy decision.
Sure, let's compare lowest trim on gas to lowest trim on EV, because both are same right? Why did you buy advance package then? The EV is second quicker than 3.5tt.
@@maga4813 Both are equally good, Genesis is more modern, Lexus perhaps more reliable but also very ancient models in their lineup. Design wise and features wise, the Genesis is far superior.
@TheCarCareNutReviews Thanks a lot for detailed reviews. It is really helpful for choosing the right car for us. Could you please consider reviewing Subaru Ascent?
i like when the temperature is displayed either inside the knob like here, or in a dedicated HVAC display. When the temp is in the main entertainment screen, it can take a while to pop up after just starting the vehicle. In my stinger, as soon as you start the car, its several seconds before the temp setting shows up, as the display boots all the way. once its fully booted its fine. that feature of touching the seat buttons and seeing what they do is a very nice idea. this vehicle in ICE form looks like a very nice way to spend time on the road.
This reminds me of the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV I just leased for 2 years. I got it because it was cheap to lease, got an EV credit for $7200 + some money down so I'm paying $317 a month. It's a stop gap car until the car market figures out what it wants to do, hence I didn't buy it. But it comes with a big touch screen, I don't even use it, half of the tech it comes with is turned off. All I need is a steering wheel, AC, a good radio, a speedometer and tachometer (preferably analog) power windows and door locks. That's it. Even if I had the money to buy something like this Genesis I would be throwing money away because that touch screen I would never use. I use my cell phone for navigation, best maps hands down. People waste too much money on bells and whistles, just not necessary.
Not to be rude but why get a Genesis? You can get a Honda or Toyota base level. Or Nissan. Less tech. Buy a tank but say I don’t want to shoot anything? You’re paying for the tech as much as anything else. I use all the tech in my car. It spoils me. Just have to take the time to learn it and set it.

can you please do a review for 2024 Trax ? The price is so attractive, but I'm concern if the tiny under powered turbo engine will last till warranty. Much thanks and keep up the great work
Thank you AMD. Been waiting on that one for a while now. Been a Lexus owner since 2009 (LSs and LC) and wanted to go electric (here in the province of Quebec, our infrastructure is really top notch), but Lexus and Toyota were not there yet. So I gave that one a chance, since it looks like a regular car instead of a spaceship. Hoping that Genesis will be a bit of a Lexus, quality wise. Some things look good (interior) but as for mechanical components, I was really looking forward to this review. Thanks again!
Check the battery replacement cost before buying. I saw in the other channel, they quoted 56k for the battery replacement of the ioniq6. Hyundai is notorious for trying their best to deny warranty
I've had my ICE 2023 2.5T Sport Prestige for over 2 years now, and absolutely love it. There is sooooo much cool tech, it's incredible. It's a fantastic vehicle, and agree wholeheartedly about the interior...absolutely gorgeous without being over done. New generation is coming with a giant LCD across 3/4 of the dash, and it completely destroyed the elegance. Unfortunate.
The overlap on the hood is a design choice and not a fitment issue. One of those things you like cause its different or it leaves you wondering what they were thinking. I have owned 2 GV70s and I still get caught off guard at times by the look. The gap issue is well an uneven gap can't say much more about that, not sure if all are like that or just the one he is reviewing and I'm to lazy to go check mine right now.
I am interested in the gas powered GV70 and tried to find the review you alluded to, specifically for the 2.5 four cylinder. There was no link and I could not find your video. Could you please give me the link? Thank you!
I have the GV 70 with 2.5 four cylinders. I have always been a Lincoln SUV customer until I test drove this SUV. It is by far the nicest luxury SUV I have ever owned. Going from a Lincoln Corsair Reserve to this GV70 was like shopping at Macys and then discovering Neiman Marcus. Once I drove this SUV, my Lincoln felt almost cheap by comparison. My Lincoln Corsair Reserve was close to the price of my Genesis GV70 Advanced. It is so much better in every way. It is solid luxury in every way. The wipers on my Lincoln always screeched and when using the cooled seats, the fan noise was loud and annoying. On the Genesis GV70 you can hardly hear the wipers and the cooled seats make no noise at all. The sound system is magnificent, and the car is so quiet. Once I learned electronics, it was much better than Lincoln's. The glass sunroof is so dark I can leave the shade open even in the summer. I could go on and on.... but test drive one and carefully look over the fit and finish from under the hood all the way to rear deck. Very impressive!
I have the 2023 GV70 2.5L Sport Prestige and the car is amazing. The interior and exterior is very similar to the electrified version in this review. More than enough power at 300 HP for a vehicle this size. Lots of neat technology like 3D instrument cluster, ergonomic seat adjustment with massage, adapted cruise control with highway assist, ambient lighting, etc., the list goes on. Plus the warranty is longer and they offer 3 year free maintenance and 3 year free valet service (for service, dealership will come to your house and pick up your vehicle, leave you another Genesis to drive, and bring your vehicle back when finished.
I’m confused by what he’s saying about the keys situation in his dislike portion of the video. I have a 2024 Sports Prestige GV70 and I don’t ever take the key out of my pocket. You can also use the Keycard or your cellphone to lock and unlock the car. Regardless I love the car which is why bought it. I’d buy it again. I got a gas model though.
Umm, home heat pump systems work pretty well - _down_ to a certain (outdoor) temperature! Below that temp an auxiliary heating device is used. Normally that is a simple resistive heating element. Of course it uses about 5 time the power per minute as the heat pump uses. But in mild climates HVAC systems with heat pumps can keep costs down.
Interesting point - an expensive large single complex unit (Octovalve) with limited serviceability versus a myriad of easily and inexpensive serviceable parts? Only time will tell which was the better option in terms of reliability and overall servicing cost. Though to date I’ve not heard of any Octovalve issues though I understand it was only introduced in the new Model Y in 2020. Genesis GV60 ( I presume that has the same thermal management hardware) wasn’t released until 2022 in the UK.
We purchased this exact vehicle- 2024 GV70 Electrified in Malachite Grey - in September ‘23 for $80k and have just hit 5,000 miles on it. We’ve had no issues at all so far and love it! We have an 80A level 3 charger installed in our garage which is nice and fast. we’ve only had to pay to charge it once and that was in Austin, Texas where there were not any Electrified America chargers within 20 miles of where we were in downtown so we coughed up $14 to fill up at one of the many others that were. We get very fast charge times up to 80% if using the 350v Electrified America chargers (which are free to use as much as we want for the first 3 years).
Mr. Car nut, can you please review the all new REDESIGNED BMW 530I... Everyone is saying that the new B series engines B58 / B48 are really reliable. Same engines in the Toyota Supra. I have a hunch that Toyota helped BMW bb ullet proof those engines. Some are even calling the B58 the German 2JZ,
Years ago, a friend bought a new Genesis. When a very serious problem occurred that was likely due to a defect in manufacturing and within the warranty period, forcing the dealer to repair the car was extremely difficult. Personally, I won't buy any Hyundai product.
Remember how they failed to address their Hyundai/KIA car theft issue and some insurance companies refused to insure them. Their solution to "address the issue" is to give customers a steering wheel lock that can be picked in seconds! They didn't even bother with a GOOD lock, just the cheapest lock possible!
I've known a few people who've own Genesis products since the original Hyundai Genesis in 2009 they seem to enjoy them with only a few issues that were resolved over the years. I'm even considering a GV80 myself. To me they are getting better and better as time progresses. Good job Genesis!

I have a tech question hopefully you will see my message. On Electric cars, how the Heater cabin heats or work since this vehicle don't have and engine or coolant......
Put dealership, service, repairs aside. It’s actually a decent car. I have never own it personally, but I have drive one of these last year from my close friend. It’s feels modern , comfortable and well thought out mostly. But again, do you homework before buying, especially visit local dealers.
Hello ! Hope your doing well! I have a question regarding different brand fluids on our Toyotas. My dealer did a transmission and coolant service on my 2013 lexus RX 350. I come to find out that they used Mocc fluids for both transmission and coolant. Should I be worried or concerned or will I be ok?
I never heard that mocc ATF brand product. Well. I've watch many of his videos Adam A.K.A #thecarcarenut he hates after market fluids puting on toyotas/lexus. It hurts his feelings😅 he probably would say "It's Okey, you be alright"
In ECO mode this vehicle has been tested to get around 260 miles. If you look at channels that specialize in EV vehicles you can see the results. Considering the majority of drivers drive under 50 miles per day...how often do you really go cross country or more than 100 miles each way? You plugin at home then leave full other than the occasional longer trip. You need a 800 volt charging system to get 800V speeds. The speed is just as much the charging station as it is the vehicles ability. Comment about charging covers... Have you seen what Tesla, BMW etc use? A rubber cover, same thing. It's about protection not style. GV70 electrified is the same as the gas options. HMG literally cut off section of the bottom to adapt vehicle for battery then used the engine bay for electronics. Only difference is the floor is a few inches higher to accommodate batteries. You get a little more legroom in the ICE GV70. It's not a bespoke platform. The GV70 was designed before EGMP was finalized
Daihatsu, the Japanese automaker owned by Toyota, has halted domestic production after admitting it forged the results of safety tests for its vehicles for more than 30 years.
I love Hyundai products , I have a 2019 Santa Fe with nearly 266,000 miles and it’s been the best vehicle I’ve ever owned . And I’ve owned nothing but Honda products prior to my Santa Fe .
Does yours have the 2.4L engine, how much oils does it burn? My 2017 Santa Fe burning about 1 quart per 1k miles with 106k miles on it. As long as it lasts closer to 200k miles I’m okay with adding oil but worried about catastrophic engine failure
@@BrianPowell-bb1un yes I have the 2.4 ….last oil change at 260,000 I lost maybe half a quart to 3/4 at 10k mile change . I’ve also done every oil change ever since new with mobil 1 full synthetic .
Sold 2013 Sonata with 2.4 worst year ever when it come to the engine/car combo... it was a great car. Still running strong at 145k miles. I think it will hit 200k as long as they change oil and maintain everything needed. Now i drive Hyundai santa fe 2.5 NA... great car with that SEL luxury premium. On higway getting up to 32mpg depending on the wind and conditions... average 24-25.

The problem with octovalve in Tesla is when it fails. It will cost an arm and leg to replace it.
Acura TLX Type S please , I have been wait for technical review on this car. Most UA-cam just review how fast it is.
Yes!
That is one georgous car.
Mr. Car nut, can you please review the all new REDESIGNED BMW 530I... Everyone is saying that the new B series engines B58 / B48 are really reliable. Same engines in the Toyota Supra. I have a hunch that Toyota helped BMW bb ullet proof those engines. Some are even calling the B58 the German 2JZ,
Great stuff man!
AMD moved to CA ?
All fancy cars have a PTC cabin heater, it's a matter of comfort.
Very interesting car! Thanks for the review!
We own a 22 GV70 Select. We love it more than the 3 Benz we had before it.
Years ago, a friend bought a new Genesis. When a very serious problem occurred that was likely due to a defect in manufacturing and within the warranty period, forcing the dealer to repair the car was extremely difficult. Personally, I won't buy any Hyundai product.
Especially now since a few months ago Hyundai/Kia got caught using child labor in their plant in Alabama.
@@majicdude88 Not at their plant, a supplier.
Remember how they failed to address their Hyundai/KIA car theft issue and some insurance companies refused to insure them. Their solution to "address the issue" is to give customers a steering wheel lock that can be picked in seconds! They didn't even bother with a GOOD lock, just the cheapest lock possible!
Not to mention the engine fires that their cars catch regardless if they’re on or not.
Or Kia
I hope you can do a review on the KIA Telluride SX Prestige X Pro. Would love to see and hear your opinions on that. Thank you and God bless
can you give us a review on the toyata voxy 3rd generation from 2014 to 2020 please
Hello, can you make a video regarding the subaru ascent, please 🙏
Please review NISSAN Rogue Platinum
I've known a few people who've own Genesis products since the original Hyundai Genesis in 2009 they seem to enjoy them with only a few issues that were resolved over the years. I'm even considering a GV80 myself. To me they are getting better and better as time progresses. Good job Genesis!
Please review Mazda cx90 phev
So he can bash it like what he did on cx 90
Have they fixed the eLSD and rear differential issues alot of the GV70 users have been experiencing?
Can you do a review for the 2024 Subaru Legacy Turbo?
I’d like to see you do a review on the bmw X5

Can you do a bmw b48 engine and b58 engine review ?
2022 Honda accord 2.0 with 10 sped please
*I was looking into buying one. Drove it, went back to really sit down and look at it. The only thing that threw me off was the shitty sound system as well as all the painted plastic. I then join a GV70 forum and holy shit are these things plagued with issues. Dont EVVVVVER own one out of Warranty!!!!!!!!*
Can you do a q7 please
Dual motor, or 4wd, towing?
I have a tech question hopefully you will see my message. On Electric cars, how the Heater cabin heats or work since this vehicle don't have and engine or coolant......
Oh look another nice car I can't afford
Put dealership, service, repairs aside. It’s actually a decent car. I have never own it personally, but I have drive one of these last year from my close friend. It’s feels modern , comfortable and well thought out mostly. But again, do you homework before buying, especially visit local dealers.
I just seen today they are not delivering cars that customers ordered
Hi,
Could you please review subaru outback 2024 turbo :)
Kia telluride next please!
he already did the Palisade which is the same thing
AMD, I thought you were getting a little carried away until 27:58 and 31:40 when you started coming back down to Earth. 😉
Dude. It's a McPherson strut multi link suspension
I love it!!!!
I can wrap food in foil and cook it on my exhaust manifold, even hot water for tea, and of course a kick*** heater for inside car.
No spare tire??
I subbed because you asked the Lord to bless and keep me, thank you
Car looks awesome but that steering wheel looks like something from a 80’s Oldsmobile…can we get something a little more sporty??
Why to focus in the electric model people will buy more the 2.5 ??
why not park in the lines?
It's such a pretty car though
I think this car is beautiful but just a tad too small for even a small family.
Could you do a list of cars you would buy?
To buy a GV70 with a 3.5 turbo? Yes. A good decision, or with a turbo diesel? A good decision, too.
But who needs it as a eV?
Given my negative experience with Lexus, I would consider Genesis as a potential alternative.
Hi....could you please provide a link to a test showing a 260 mile range?
Daihatsu, the Japanese automaker owned by Toyota, has halted domestic production after admitting it forged the results of safety tests for its vehicles for more than 30 years.
What is the cost to replace the battery?
In the neighborhood of $22,000 USD
I knew you’d like this one.
You have to go to a 350 kW charger to get 10%-80% in 18 minutes. The car can take 233 kW.
Meh on this one A…
But sure do love the channel!
Nice review! Can you review the Mitsubishi Mirage some day please?
So does that mean i shouldnt buy it?
The gas version is the way to go!
That leather diamond pattern is matelassé. If you learn the big words for high-end clients, you'll sell more vehicles. 😁
