    Excellent video. Short & precise. Strait to the point, just what I needed. Not some 30 min long video explaining why.
    .....I've got a paint job to do, not time to burn listening to some guy talk about why. Now off to shoot the base & clear now. Thank you!

    Eastwood should consider doing a review for turbine based guns, needles nozzle combinations for automotive paints. I'm considering your Apollo with 7500GT and it'd be quite helpful. Unfortunately Eastwood sent me a table with a thousand options. I'd like it broken down to its simplest form like it is done here.

    Would there be a huge difference if I spray with a nozzle that's .1mm off?

    • @Z-Ack
      @Z-Ack Рік тому

      Yes itd be .1mm different.. would it matter for paint? No.. you can spray clear with a 2.0 if you want, youll just be wasting a lot of paint or wind up with runs if youre not experienced.. but ive watched guys paint with wider nozzles and turn up the air and adjust pattern and spray a car in 5 mins.. is all about consistency and your settings just like welding..

    Given the tip sizes you recommend for primer, base and clear coats, why does the Eastwood Concours Pro HVLP 2-gun paint system kit offer 2.0, 1.7 and 1.3 tip sizes respectively? I mean you state in this video that the 1.4 tip size is perfect for base coats. I'm confused.

    • @eastwoodco
      @eastwoodco  8 років тому +1

      The 1.3 is the needle / nozzle you would use for base coats.

    This was good info but an advertisement none the less. My issue, that I am trying to determine, is that I purchased an inexpensive gun with a 1.0mm nozzle size recommended for the clear waterborne primer and top coat. But as I discovered later, the candy color to be mixed with that clear, the mid coat, recommends a 1.2mm nozzle size and I could not find this in a small volume (125CC/~4oz) gun, yet the paint’s manufacturer makes no such recommendations for an airbrush (any size nozzle will do they claim) and a 20oz gun +/- would be overkill/wasteful. My issue, therefore, will be what kind of problems might that 0.2mm nozzle size difference cause/present?

    Eastwood company-Ok what are you using for primer 1.8 or the 2.2 And for the clear coat what are you using 1.2 or the 1.3

    • @eastwoodco
      @eastwoodco  7 років тому +2

      For Clear you can use 1.2 or 1.3. For primer, you will want to choose 1.8 or 2.2 based on the primer you will be spraying. The high build primers often require the 2.2.

    would a 2.0 work for all primers a 1.5 for basecoats and a 1.3 for clear coats or is it nessecary to have a 1.8 2.0 1.4 and 1.3

    • @eastwoodco
      @eastwoodco  7 років тому

      You want the best combo for the material you're spraying, but most DIY painters will not have every combo you listed. You can usually do you're work with 2-3 needle/nozzles. Always check the manufacturer's recommendations. Some primers - like high build primers - may require a larger needle/nozzle than a 2.0.

    • @eksine
      @eksine 6 років тому +2

      just use 1.3 or 1.4 for everything, it's fine, you have to sand after you spray primer anyways. I'd get 1.3

    • @mura0
      @mura0 Рік тому +1

      @@eksine my thoughts exactly. If you are sanding the primer which you always do, and are not a paint shop just use 1.4 or 1.3 for everything.

    best compressor for the concourse gun?

    • @eastwoodco
      @eastwoodco  4 роки тому +1

      Just check the air requirements on the gun you're looking to purchase and find a compressor that meets those requirements. With a smaller compressor (40-60 gal), you may need to paint the panels one at a time so they compressor can catch up. If you use a Scroll or a large 80 gallon, you will likely be able to paint the entire car without stopping. Here's a link to check out the Scroll - www.eastwood.com/eastwood-elite-qst-30-60-scroll-air-compressor.html
