    I like butcherbox because you can add a deal to your cart and it stays good until you order a box. Accrue deals and put in larger orders and your price comes out really reasonable. My most recent order is over 37 lbs of meat and seafood for under $7/lb.

    53 boxes mailed to me over four years. Butcher box is rad. I agree with 100% of your review and feel the same. It’s a useful addition to how you source groceries and it isn’t a fad. Their bfast sausage is amazing. I also subscribe to Freshly, 6 meals a week. Apples and oranges between the two services.

    TK my dude! Glad you still are holding strong to the hair considering your genetics. You look great, might need to grow it for winter :)
    Home chef has been my favorite subscription box but it's murder on the packaging as I recycle everything.
    I've been getting butcher box every other month too, I'm considering buying Alaska salmon direct (sushi grade) because I love it so much and it's cheaper than poke locally. I do get both salmon and cod from bb in my box. I do like bb. I heard their finer cuts of pork is really excellent so I might switch it up but I usually get bigger items to drive the cost per pound down.

      I was thinking about getting butcherbox but the portions seem really small to last a month.. 2pounds of ground beef or 2 pounds of salmon 6oz steak two of them I believe.. how long do your butcher box meals last?

      @@oscarperez5539 it's just me and it's not my only source of food, I just needed a source for some of the better quality foods for meats. It does last me more than a month however I joined on deal (free wings for life) and a coupon and free bacon, I think on my first order. Also I thought about quitting and they offered free bacon for life. Which btw is the best bacon you will ever have.
      I buy some big items. Just work the math with the cost per pound, if you choose all expensive items it'll be $20/lb but you can get a lot less depending on what you choose (like a big roast for example). The best thing is my price hasn't changed, so can't complain.

I also got a a $45 off coupon and $30 off through capitol one shopping! Great deal right? Yes for the first box. otherwise they're expensive and have terrible lead times and the meat quality is very good but questionable given the price. I was very glad to take advantage of them on the first box though!

    Why does no one talk about the fact that the main box cuts are wildly overpriced.
    Especially if you are foolish enough to choose any cuts from the chicken or pork section. Seriously, do the math: take your number of cuts in your main box and divide the total box cost by it.
    I always ended up having to just fill all my 6 main cuts with beef and then spending extra money in add-ons where they actually price things appropriately for things like chicken wings and bacon, sausage, etc.

      Have you been to a grocery store? It's $18 for a thin cut 10oz grass fed ribeye. You are paying for extremely high quality grass fed meat without being treated with carbon monoxide for coloring like you would in grocery stores. Butcherbox is probably your best meat distributor in terms of getting quality meat for a good price. If you want your grain fed, non-organic, carbon monoxide treated and commercial beef products, then by all means enjoy your overpriced lower quality grocery meat.

    • @jasonquinn4516
      @jasonquinn4516 10 місяців тому

      @ryanturner8577 you do realize that meats are graded, right?
      I assume when you say things like "high quality" you are referring to its healthfulness by being grass fed or a heritage breed.
      These are indeed ideal things, but I assure you that a low grade grass fed beef will be poor eating regardless of its nutritional benefits.
      When I order from BB, the beef is always trimmed poorly(so I'm paying for stuff that a proper butcher would have already trimmed before selling), and it is often littered with gristly connective tissue as well as being underweight 90% of the time.
      Furthermore, have you glanced at the main box offerings?
      I got a 6 cut box and it's very simple to divide the total cost, $169 before tax, by the cuts and realize you are paying over $28 per selection.
      Please explain how a pack of bacon, or ground sausage, pork chops, pork butt, chicken breast/thighs, chicken wings, ground chicken, a pack of cod, beef bottom round, etc...should cost around $30.
      If you want to see how bad they are ripping you off on your box selections, just go to the Add-Ons section of the site and find the very same products at the very same quantities, and see what the real value of the selections are.
      The greatest irony of BB is that the best value to be found (in terms of what cut for what weight) is found in the beef selections; but the beef from BB is by far the worst quality compared to their chicken and pork which are pretty good.
      There is a reason BB refuses to list the grade of their meats anywhere on the packaging or website. It's because their meat is Select-grade at the very best.

    • @ryanturner8577
      @ryanturner8577 10 місяців тому

      @@jasonquinn4516 Quality pertains to how it’s raised. The grading pertains to how much marbling the meat has. All 9 of my ribeyes I received have prime level marbling. The difference is that grass fed (especially grass finished) beef will always be slightly tougher let simply because of the quality of muscle. But the flavor is 10x better than grain fed.
      This is where knowing how to actually cook meat and actually understanding the cuts of meat comes into play. If you bought bottom round, that’s on you lmao. I got 8 ribeyes, 1 big ribeye, 2 NY strips, 4 flap steaks, 2 tri tips, 12 total grass fed beef patties, and 2lb of ground beef for $306. Try buying all grass fed stuff in the supermarket and come out with the same price with the same sizing. It won’t happen. No grocery store even has tri tip or flap steaks.
      I would suggest then to learn how to cook meat. Do you salt brine your steaks? Do you butter baste? Do you marinade? Do you know the best way to cook and what the best temp is for certain cuts of meat? If you’re so obsessed with prime grade steaks then just buy prime ones at Whole Foods for $30 a pop.

    • @jasonquinn4516
      @jasonquinn4516 10 місяців тому

      @ryanturner8577 I see you ignored the main point of my comment by not acknowledging the rip-off factor of filling the boxes with a certain number of cuts.
      Focusing on defining what grass-fed is and implying I don't know how to prepare various cuts properly are cool ways to steer the conversation away from my objectively true points.
      And since you are so concerned, I would use my sous vide circulator for a bottom round and a cast iron for actual steak cuts.
      Please address how BB constantly sends their beef underweight and also please go to the Add-Ons section and find out how much a pack of bacon, chicken of any sort, or pork of any sort costs and then please tell me that you still think BB isn't gouging the regular box selections.

    First of all, you are a liar. This video might not be directly sponsored by ButcherBox, but you mention multiple times in the video to use the link in your description..... which is an affiliate link...... which you did not disclose in the video. You _clearly_ purposely omitted that because you knew what the consequences of doing so would be. And you want to talk about how great this company is for their ethics lmao
    Beyond that, you're insane to say that your grocery costs are even... I live in a very high cost area and even compared to that, per pound, butcher box is a rip off. You'll be paying ~$15 per pound on _everything_ which is absolutely absurd. Even if you get a few decent steaks that were worth that, you're still paying $15 per pound for the rest of it... on things like chicken breast..... and ground beef.....
    You say "you can't compare it to the normal grocery store"..... uh..... yeah, you can.... just about every grocery store in the country sells organic/free range/grass fed/etc meat.... it isn't just a "Whole Foods" thing.... and it still doesn't cost that much. Again, you are either being intentionally deceptive or you need to get out more.
    If you genuinely like this service, and just threw an affiliate link in there with a "hey if you're interested in this, please click my link" then that'd be different. I got nothing against sponsorships or affiliate links or anything like that man. But you can't tell me that you weren't being deceptive in this video, purposely hiding your motive, and knowingly masking what is clearly an ad for you to make affiliate revenue as some sort of honest review with no financial incentive attached to it. You almost seem like you're reading a script they sent you, even though you supposedly aren't sponsored by them (which I guess I'll at least take you on your word for that...). Real bad look brother.
    Edit: I take back what I said about "i'll take your word" at the end. I just went to their affiliate sign up page. It ain't just a "make an account and use this code" thing..... you literally had to apply and get approved to even get that affiliate link. There's no doubt in my mind that one of their affiliate managers gave you resources and bullet points of what to talk about in this video. And here you go saying "this video isn't sponsored" because that semantic differentiation makes it so you can say you weren't lying. How is this anything but you being a grifter?

A buddy of mine wanted to try this out too so I had him use my link and he got $50 off his first box, and then I get $50 off my next box. There is literally zero issue here. You're acting like a psycho. This is purely butcherbox giving out a good deal to entice more people to use their service over others.
