Guys dont be stupid, the controller takes more time to charge because it has a screen in it, more options and is better overall, the battery lasts less for the typhoon because it has 6 rotors, it is more professional overall, ha more features and is easier to use
Get real, intimidating controller -_- you can fly it exactly like the p4 just with the control sticks and the rest are extra features that make it a bit better
the st16+ controller is actually a FULL 7IN Android Tablet. it also does EVERYTHING check mail go online and control your copter, the Yuneec actually beats the Phantom 4 in EVERY aspect. you just cant watch a bias video
I just bought my Typhoon H and I LOVE it !! I have very little experience as a drone operator as well. I like the bigger controller. But I do agree I wish the battery life would be longer. But I would say that about ANY drone!! How much is DJI paying you?
No Bad Days Travel I agree with you! I’ve had DJI Mavics, Phantoms and Inspires. I now have the Typhoon H and let me tell you, I’ll never do DJI again. Yuneec makes a fantastic drone! No gimmicks or bullshit like DJI
All I have to say is I own both machines and I just know from experience that there are a lot of whoppers being told about what this does and what that can't,also comparisons aren't being performed on equal playing fields.
The Typhoon H clearly wins on two points, 1/ having redundancy if a motor fails or rotor gets damaged. 2/ The landing gear is well clear of shot although I have seen rotors in shot which is the main problem. Having said this, the Phantom wins hands down on infinitely far more points. My decision to buy the P4 was a decision I certainly stick by having bought one of the first off the shelf from Apple. 8 hours to charge the Typhoon RC and each flight takes 20% of the battery life !!! Whats the !!!!!
I read in a test that one full battery flight took the RC down from 100% to 80%, that doesn't equate to 12-16 flights unless my maths are failing, no comments on the 8 hour charge time ? or the aircraft battery nearly two hour charge time with no way of checking if a battery is full or empty without striking the aircraft up and viewing in the app ? So if you have four batteries and want to check the battery levels, you have four aircraft initiations to do this. If you have four P4 batteries you simply press the battery button to check, so all batteries checked within seconds.
+High Flyer while charging the H charger will decharge the battery and then bring it back up to full charge,I agree the the stock charger does take time. This method ensures a more better balanced charge and the batteries will have a longer overall life, charge times are 1 hour 45 min there are already aftermarket adapters so you can use your regular charger(that most enthusiasts have) with much quicker charge times depending how do it.
heads up though. i did extensive flying of the phantom 4 this weekend in a warehouse and there was drift. when moving quickly and stopping there was a good delay before it locked into a hover. not sure if that is what you meant by drift or if you meant at a stand still if it stays in place?
I think that you haven't mentioned some things about the typhoon H. The fact that the typhoon doesn't last as long as the phantom it's not an inconvenient since the phantom 4 batteries are way more expensive. It's also true that currently the obstacle avoidance on the phantom 4 is better than the one that has the typhoon but hopefully in the near future this will change with the intel realsense which will also use optical and infrared sensors. Thanks of it's modular design new cameras may also be relised. It's also said that an Indoor Positioning Sistem and a backpack are comming out. In terms of the camera quality I think that the auto setings on the typhoon camera are pretty bad indeed but if you play with the manual settings you can improve a lot the image quality ( in some cases shown on the video I prefered the image of the CGO3+ ). Finaly don't forget that the CGO3+ can be attached to the steadygrip so then you have a handheld stabilized camera. PD; You can also catch all of your recordings inserting the sd card on the ST16
The batteries for both drones cost 130$ look it up on Google. Don't rely on promises to hope the Yuneec will be better, just go with what is already the best. Phantom 4 wins.
By the way where the hell is this supposed Real Sense from Intel anyway? Seems weird for it not to have made it to market yet. Starting to wonder if it will make it past the concept stage and in to actual production they haven't even released an actual price for it.
@ MW Tech: You lost me when you pounded the "H" on it's sonic avoidance system, you do realize that the "P" would crash and kill anything in it's path if the subject wasn't lit up like a Christmas tree, whereas the "H" can fly and avoid objects in TOTAL darkness.
+Yuneec Electric Aviation is this idiot who did this bias review a groupie for dji? You guys have to defend yourself. Make a counteract video, I know dji have a lot of people working for them that are bad mouthing the Yuneec typhoon H on the comment section here in UA-cam.
hello thank you very much, but what photogrammetry application uses the drone on your remote control? I have used Phantom 4 Pro and use Pix4d capture or Dji GS Go Pro etc, in this case, with this drone Yunec which application app can be used to perform missions photogrammetric flight? thanks.
I was considering Yuneec, but the picture quality, battery life and range are significantly better on the DJI. The difference on these important factors isn't even close.
oh, Another! pick a hole why don't you. He was Reviewing a Drone, Not Asking for an Accent Appraisal. If you don't have a decent enough Grasp of English to understand when a guy with very good english is saying 'DJI' I haven't travelled extensively enough in India, Bangladesh or Indonesia well enough to know his first language. But i'm betting you don't speak one sentence in any of those languages??.No? -Well keep your Ethnocentric opinions to yourself then .
I purchased the Typhoon H and couldn't be happier. I immediately stepped into a big production requiring much drone footage, very impressed. The gimbal is nimble, smooth and amazing. I'm surprised no time has been spent on the quality of the gimbal on the Typhoon H.
Are you serious? Did you even look at a Phantom 4 before you bought that Typhoon with its plastic fantastic gimbal? I checked out both before buying the P4, the plastic Typhoon gimbal broke on its first demo flight. All was fine then it flopped to the side and never worked again. The P4 gimbal is light years ahead of the Typhoon, all cnc aluminum construction.
I did look extensively at the Phantom 4 before choosing the Typhoon H. I've never flown the Phantom 4, but I can tell you the gimbal on the Typhoon H is responsive, smooth and quick. The gimbal mount is designed for an easy break away to protect the gimbal itself and the camera in the event of a crash. So I assume you crashed it on it's maiden voyage.....The P4 gimbal can't even perform a 360 degree rotation, there's NO rotation in the gimbal except downward. I can't call that light years ahead....sorry.
You really didn't look at the Phantom did you, you have no idea what the heck your talking about. The Phantom has a 3 axis gimbal, if you don't know what that means then google it. Crash no, I wasn't even at the sticks, did you not read "demo flight" The dealer was flying it first and the gimbal failed in mid air, new out of the box, now there's a quality product.
I dare you to do a 360 video pan on a phantom 4 and not have landing gear in the shot. *mic drop* Also this video didn't even compare the pro version of the Typhoon H with intelisense.
I hope your not serious. Did you actually watch any videos of a P4 doing a 360 pan? I think maybe you should search youtube "phantom 4 360 pan" and you'll see how wrong you are. The intelisence you mention is nice, but maybe you should check out the new Phantom 4 Pro. Ya Yuneec just got one upped yet again by DJI. Seems DJI releases new technology about once or twice a year. What has Yuneec done? Front obstacle avoidance, OH wait that was Intel, question remains.
Can you adjust things like Sharpness on the Phantom? Is it less sharp when shooting in DJI's log mode? That's the only thing I've not liked about Phantom footage directly-out-of-camera, and I actually liked some of the Typhoon footage OVER the Phantom footage because of it looking not so "overly sharpened." Everything else about the Phantom footage I like more than the Typhoon though, and if that in-camera sharpness can be dialed down then it'd be great.
Yes you can adjust sharpening, contrast and saturation and set it for example to -3. I think the flat profile does not affect the sharpening, it affects the color and the dynamic range (but you have to color correct it afterwards for gpod result)
Cool comparison, I got my phantom 4 and love it. but i'm curious what happened to the "INTEL REAL SENSE" device which you can mount on the Typhoon? they claim it's super advanced at detecting objects and flying around them?
The H looks more pro when you show up at a professional shoot ,with high paying clients , it will impress the shit out of any client , the p4 looks like something my 13 year old will be playing with at the park , but as for resolution ,the p4 seems to have a much better picture , thou it looks a bit contrasty or over sharpened , but if this can be corrected then i think the p4 is a better choice, for anyone who is concerned about high resolution
The H looks just as much like a toy as the P4 does. Both are hobby/ recreational UAVS. If your a 'professional' get an inspire or matrice series. Not something you can buy off the shelf at Best Buy.-
+TripMcSleazestack I would disagree. Everyone with a drone flies a phantom, so if going out of your way to get the wow factor is important to your project, the yuneec stands out and definitely gets loads of complements. It's a cool drone, the Phantom is plain. It's a much more straightforward drone to fly vs the H, whereas the phantom has auto takeoff auto land etc the yuneec requires a bit more pilot capability to fully understand its power.
+nothing to see here. move along. The H looks like a toy some yuppie would buy at sharper image to try and impress his neighbors kids. The phantom 4 looks like all the rest because its a plain easy design to copy. I don't fly so kids can point and say 'gee mister, that looks neato!'. I fly yo take pictures and videos, which the P4 does much better.
+TripMcSleazestack well, I owned a phantom 3, before that I owned a 3DR IRIS+. The IRIS+ was not only fun to fly, but it required the pilot to understand the craft. I grew bored of the phantom because it's too simple. I enjoy excitement. Also, the Typhoon is a bit more modular. Something breaks, it's fixable. It's a very android vs apple approach to the scenario. Refinement vs choices. You can tweak an incredible amount of things with the Typhoon H if you truly understand it. It's not just about how it looks, which is cool to me, and definitely other people. It's all personal preference.
I film all my rides for youtube. As an action sport, I am looking for something that will follow me AND keep me in focus. I love the AirDog, but they are a new company and would rather not use a gopro in the air. I was waiting for the H but..... using the follow or track mode with the P4 - that does keep the camera on the subject when moving, correct?
it has been proven in many videos to not be reliable at all. it will track you but loses track very often. the H will absolutely not lose track because of its gps technology. if you are looking for reliable tracking the H is the obvious choice.
......a few questions:1)where did you make this Video? 2)is it possible to get a better camera on the yuneec?3)is it possible to connect a FLIR (infrared) cam on the Phantom 4?
Camera on the typhoon H isn't up-gradable nor is the camera on the P4. Flir cameras can be installed on any Drone if you have the money for the modification.
+Andrei Taylor - Throw the original camera in the trash and hope a better one is developed that doesn't cost a fortune. Meanwhile, you have a camera drone with no camera. Not good.
Ive got a phantom 3 standard that has 2k video and I would not trade to get the Typhoon. Typhoon gives you the fishbowl view and flys less duration and less distance. Not to mention who wants to lug that big thing around. That controller is gigantic and would suck. Last but not least is the noise the Typhoon makes....much louder than the phantom. DJI is the leader in drones for a reason. If you want the best then u buy the best.
In my opinion, say drone hobbyists decide to obtain their Commercial FAA certificate and go pro. The Phantom 4 has more money making opportunities. Here are two examples: aviation mapping third party apps are available now, that Yeneec does not have. For Real Estate photography the Phantom 4 is smaller & great for indoor aerial photography work with it's front and bottom safety sensors. (A lot of real estate brokers & home owners want more than outside aerial footage) Yes, the new Typhoon H Pro will have added flight safety sensors but, no one know's yet how well it will work inside for real estate photography.
I think it's also instructive to point out that the Phantom will almost always catch the front blades while rapidly moving forward. This is because the drone has to angle forward to attain velocity. You have to tilt the camera down far enough so the blades are out of the shot. I have sometimes reversed the shot in post when I need a fast track in shot without the blades. You can't do this with people in the shot but it works for static real estate shots of homes.
honestly, they are both really good drones. the p4 has its downsides and the typhoonH has its downsides, i personally have a p3pro and a typhoon G and i love flying them both :P
Is there really that much of a difference? I need help as I am not experienced with drones and want to buy one, but looking at review videos the phantom 4 just looked like a slightly tweaked version of the phantom 4 but double the price
Tony & Chelsea Northrup I have the 350qx,the Chroma,Q500,and numerous off brand quads. The Typhoon H is the smoothest flying one I have yet to own.The flight is so smooth and it’s pretty fast to be so big.Worth every penny
Thanks for the review. As far as the sensor, don't you think sonic sensor would work better at night than camera sensor? Probably why bats have sonic sensor than super vision..... Does DJI has infrared sensor so it'll work at night?
I am interested in the Phantom 4. The biggest reservation that I have is service. I purchased a Phantom vision 2+, and after 1 year the internal wifi module died. This is a well know issue resulting in having no way to remotely view the camera view using the app. Of course this renders the drone useless for aerial photography. So now I have an expensive paper weight. I am therefore reluctant to invest in DJI again.
Great video and comparison. Very well presented. I will be traveling through Europe in the next couple of months. What drone would you recommend? And backpack or hardcase? Again, a great job!
I was torn between the Typhoon H and the Phantom 4, I finally decided on the H mainly due to looks and 6 motors. I went to place my order, and was given a 4 to 6 week wait for the bird to ship. My Phantom 4 will be here on Thursday.
What? No mention of DJI app crashes. My favourite is the side by side comparison of the video quality at 12:00 in the video, where there is clear distortion seen from what looks like might be the props? Also, there is no mention of the bizarre gimbal shakes on the DJI because it does not seem to stabilize itself on occasion. The usual fix is to do a quick left right on the drone to reorient the gimbal, but still. I completely understand the complaint on the camera giving a 115 degree angle on the Yuneec, but, anyone with decent video editing software can easy apply a filter to correct this, Filmora and power director by cyberlink are among a couple of the programs that can do this (GOPRO also has a free app that can be used, and if you are so incline, Magix Vegas Studio will also do this). Yes, there are pro's and cons to each unit, but come on. Does DJI have the edge on video quality and feature set? Maybe, slightly. In my opinion, these are completely different drones. The Phantom is more agile, has more sensors, has more features in the app software, but comes with the caveat that it both requires your phone (watch your battery life drop from 100% to 50% in 45 minutes of flying, especially since the screen brightness must be at full) and is buggy as hell, which is not something you want while in flight, in my opinion. The Typhoon has slightly, and I mean slightly less video quality (it is slightly oversaturated) and the image is warped, both of these can easily be fixed in post. The Typhoon is slower in both response and agility / speed, which is perfectly acceptable for cinematic work. The Typhoon also comes with everything in the controller, leaving your phone battery at full charge. The DJI is great for fast chase aerial footage, there is no doubt that the DJI outmaneuvers and outperforms the Typhoon on flight characteristics. The phantom does have better picture quality, but only slightly, and it is not like the video cannot be corrected in post. In fact, both drones have shutter speed, ISO, and other camera settings. If you know how to use these, you will get great results in both drones, with some post work. The Typhoon, as I said, will require a lense correction and colour correct, the Phantom, technically also needs lens correction, just much less of it the image is also slightly warped on the Phantom. Which one has the edge? if you need agility and speed, the DJI. If you need better "out of the box" image quality, the DJI. If you will be doing post production work on the images and you want to save your phone battery, choose the Typhoon. Either way, you really cant go wrong on either of these drones, they are both great. Oh, one more thing, Yuneeq beats the shit out of DJI on the customer service front and they have a lovely user group that is helpful to boot. About to go on your first flight? Call Yuneeq and they will walk you through the entire process over the phone, as they did with me.

***** except the yuneec controller is awesome! ... according to enthusiasts, in the hobby, and to call it the controller complicated is, IMHO biased( & or simple minded) The industry wants more degrees of control. Had he named the video "my opinion", no one would bash.
@@thebiggestgeee I have to agree the controller is good... but the drone and camera are being outclassed by DJI drones. I wish Yuneec would have focused more on quality than needless toys (the steadygrip for example)
I don't know what all the hate is about, but it seemed like a solid review to me, and also sounds like the P4 is the better, all around, choice... If you disagree could you explain why?
Best thypoon.h vs phantom 4 so far, i also like the 360 gimbal but for a single operator you dont really need it, best pro for thypoon is that it can loose 1 motor and still land safe, but as a drone the phantom have much better camera quality and is still the best you can get for under 2k$ now. Only thing i dont agree with is range, thypoon say 1.6km,,, but without upgrading anything i get max 1km , on the same sight i get 6km with my phantom 4 even if the box say 5km, most pilotes dont need that range but its good to have much power if you fly a place with interference or behind a tree or somthing
There's a reason yuneec didn't install it on the H successor, the h520. It never worked period. I had the unit with realsense and it literally did nothing the model without realsense could do. the module was never fully supported, probably because they ran into issues trying to get it work in a flying platform, something the sensor wasn't designed to do in the first place.
BOOM, BOOM, BOOM... THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! Finally someone that knows the subject matter and provides usable info, after usable info, after usable info without needless, self-serving pontification... Did I say thank you!?!
+Bobster986 it's not the truth! I have both and I never EVER get 25 min flight time with p4, nor do you get 27 hovering. I have 3 batteries and it takes at least 3 hours to fully charge! I can keep going but your states are clearly off.
The Phantom 3 / 4 is the more complete package overall vs the Typhoon. Not to mention the range and video quality on the Phantom 3 and 4 being noticeably better and at the end of the day it's all about aerial photography. Clear winner here is the Phantom.
I much do you get from dji for this comparison? st16 intimidating really. Mabey you dind't see it but it got a build in screen. What intmidating its way beter not to cary around another tablet.
Interesting from an operator I have 2 dji products but from a commercial flying point if you are on 4 props and one goes you are stuffed so Im interested in the 6 prop models coming out so you have some chance of recovery
I've been looking at a bunch of these comparison videos and the more and more i watch. The more I see that there is not a real comparison at all. The Phantom flies double the distance, better battery life and better camera settings just to name a few.
I currently have the DJI Phantom 3 and have been going back and forth between the Typhoon H or the Inspire 1. The main down side to the H in my opinion is that controller but it's not a deal breaker for me.
best video review ive seen for both drones. i like both drones it just what you really need or do with it. i am fan of both drones so no biased or paid whatever you wanna cal it, about him giving a full comparison for both drones. this is my goddamn comments.
My comment on the Review , - For what its worth - was going to be that the Phantom 4 is also Dual Controller Capable . Also it is only in the USA that Geo-Fencing and Ceilings are so Rigid. In Spain, Italy, and the UK I have taken off at 1900ft then flown to an altitude of a further 520ft+ above take off point - that was in Italy - In the UK (norfolk broads , very flat and open most sea level) I flew to altitudes of 600ft and 1800ft away from 'Home Spot' , i was on a boat moving at approx 4 mph on the Norfolk broads, so reset Home point, then hit the 'Return to home' button and after approx 4-5mins the Dji 4 landed itself on the deck of the boat - which i should add was stationary after resetting 'home point' - its an amazing drone, with a huge amount of features to explore. only thing i would say against it, is be prepared to buy at least a couple of spare Batteries. or at least buy them asap. Hoping that was a little more educational and unbiased than the S**t hurling match this thread has declinined into for the most part.
i debated on the dji phantom 3 and the yuneec q500, i went with the yuneec, came down to design, both shared similar features. would you mind checking out videos of mine, im pretty new to drones
I didn't hear you say anything about audio from the camera. DJI cameras have none for some of us that do power sports like truck and tractor pulls with big motors screaming at you is a blast to video. So having that perfect video lens is not always needed but is nice to have and can the average person notice it. Oh now that they both have been out for a while DJI updates for the P4 really stink where as the H not so much. Not to say that the H doesn't have it's own issues like complete EMP pulse shut down in mid flight.
Great materials for review. However, I feel like there wasn't any attempt to be non-biased throughout the entirety of the review. About 90 seconds into the review it was quite obvious who you thought was the superior of the two on the given subject at hand.
Downloading an Update & putting it on an SD card then installing it manually is the safest way to do an update anyway.... Also why mention the inspire 1? it's more of a pro setup.
Phantom 4? Enjoy your tilted horizon. If you have a top tier tablet or phone it might even run the (required) DJI go app. But most certainly it won't. Why not? Because the P4 is not market ready but DJI released it in this unstable state to not fall behind Yuneec's Typhoon H release. None of this is mentioned in this biased review.
And he mentioned that the app is way faster to start, but forgot to mention that if he has to start the operating system (Android) on the phone, like the Yuneec remote does, it will problably take longer, because it has to boot all the phone features too. And dont forget to ask people not to call you, or text you, or message, or get any notifications, because you might get "blind". XD
I have a phantom 4 and absolutely love it but if I were to get the Typhoon H I would certainly get the model of with IntelRealSense. And they still might come out to be the same. But obstacle avoidance with Intel RealSense on the typhoon model or optical system of phantom 4 will just be far far more useful than the forward ultrasonic. I also think the lack of ground positioning on the typhoon is a big big con and so for about the same price depending on accessories I think the lack of ground sensors is a deal breaker for the typhoon. I would get the phantom again given the choice and if you're someone who cares about landing gear on the DJI, you can get retractable landing gear from third parties and then you should be able to shoot in any direction (a feature some photographers care about) with gimbal. Choose the phantom 4
Booting the typhoon is with a simple trick reduced to 43 sec. This review is i think a commercial for ph4. I come from a ph4 and now on the typhoon and boy i like it. The typhoon is really looking badass in the sky and i like the flying much more then the ph4. It's more steady then the ph4. But he that's my opinion.
Hmm it s good that you enjoyed ur T-H, but it is a bit impolite to just call a well-made video commercial. I think it takes the credits away from the video maker, who has apparently put in and delivered great works
Come on the st 16 is cumbersome to caryy around ? huuuuuh wtf it's one controller with the screen inside. I think he carry much more a controller and a seperated tablet or phone. Come on serieus.
good comparison. I had the yuneec for a week before returning it for a p4pro+. it just seemed to be lacking in almost every area. The realsense was either not fully utilized or just not very capable. The controller felt like it was struggling to do basic tasks. the camera, ugh.... idk how u got such nice looking footage in this video but you must have spent a good deal of time with color correction. everything i shot had dull washed out look, kind of like shooting c log, but in the regular color profiles. just a real disappointment.
I was considering purchasing a P4 but really didn't know much about the major perks between 1,2,3, and of course the Typhoon...but it's safe to say the P4 is the way forward. Thanks for sharing.
The quality of your TH video is definitely inferior to the P4. I have a TH and the 4k video is extremely sharp, unlike your examples. I always lock white balance before flying and manually set exposure once the bird is in the air. ND filters slow down the shutter speed on bright days making for smoother video during movement. Finally, the P4 is definitely more stable in the air but the gimbal on the TH makes my video rock steady. That's what I care about. Anyway, thanks for the comparison.
Hey man, I have a TH as well, could you explain to me more of your manual exposure procedures, I have very little experience with photography settings so I'd really appreciate some pointers.
Sure. Here's what I've learned so far. First, if you have neutral density filters, install the ND16 for a bright sunny day, ND8 for a hazy bright day, ND4 for a bright gray day and the clear lens cover for a dull day or twilight. Second, press the sprocket button (lower right corner of screen) and select the video settings that you want. I prefer the Natural setting to minimize post processing. Third, make sure the WB button is highlighted (red) to manually set the white balance. Place a pure white card (I use a folding Christmas box that commonly come with clothes purchases) in front of the camera. Hold it at an angle so that plenty of reflected light from above is visible through the camera. Press the LOCK button and notice the padlock icons. Forth, press the red +/- Auto (exposure) button and round AUTO button to switch to M for manual exposure setting. Set the shutter speed to a value of 1 divided by twice the frame rate. For example, if you are shooting 4k (3840x2160) at 30 frames/second, set the shutter speed to 1/60th. Then set the ISO to a value that looks reasonable. Now, take off and hover at about the height you plan to fly. Lower the camera angle so that just a bit of sky is showing. Now readjust the ISO so that the things you want to see are properly exposed. Don't forget to start the video camera and stop it when done recording. If you shut off the drone while recording, the last file may not be readable. I've done this. To fix the file, put the MicroSD card back into the drone. Start the controller and drone. Once everything is up, start recording and, after a few seconds, stop recording. This should fix the file you want. Have fun with your new Typhoon H!
search youtube for the Mod available for the H. it is soooo much better then the P3/P4. also remember. the Phantom camera you are stuck with. the H camera can be removed with a click and a newly released camera can be added.
For me it looks like the Phantom has a normal Camera Mode preset an the Yuneec use a very flat preset. I never saw a comparison with both cameras in RAW.
An excellent and thorough review with many like for like comparisons. This is not the only review showing that the P4 leads over the Typhoon. Yuneec will clearly improve and close the gap on DJI so I look forward to their next model. However, if you put the extra safety of 6 rotors, which means the drone can keep going if one fails, as the most important factor, the Typhoon is the winner.
Just because they're both 4k doesn't mean they are in the same category. Just look at the price of either and thats where the advantage is. typhoon H is priced for what it offers and so is the DJI. So unless they're both the same price, the DJI doesn't win the contest
Nice review. I really do not get the whole 360 camera thing when equally I can rotate the quadcopter and fly in any direction at the same time, especially during autonomous flight modes were programmed flight is flown, giving pilot full camera control. I also find that the landing gear is added protection to camera and the lifting legs are another concern for reliability should they fail to operate or become damaged. The size difference is huge, I love the compactness of the P4. The battery charge level indicator is paramount in operating safely because it's "in your face" during setup for flight. The VPS of the P4 is awesome, truly is a camera tripod in sky or indoors. Thanks again for review, I am open to all camera drone manufacturers as I am passionate of the technology. I look forwards to see what the future has for Yuneec , DJI and others coming into the prosumer market.
So the extensive control layout on the ST16/Typhoon H is "intimidating" compared to the P4 but the extensive menu options of the P4 is "feature rich"? My eyes are rolling with the bias here. In a nutshell, the P4 and the Typhoon H have specific strengths that will attract different buyers. The reviewer (personally) prefers the P4 over the Typhoon. Other drone flyers will prefer the Typhoon over the P4. This video is nothing more than the opinion of the poster.
Taharqa, it seems like every body that is doing these videos seems like they get paid by DJI because there are some things that are just completely left out when talking about the typhoon. I just purchased a typhoon and one of the great things that typhoon has that DJI does not , I can change out my camera and I can place a thermal imaging camera on my YUNEEC TYPHOON, there's no aspect like that for the DJI P4
he was obviously on the dji p4 side. the typhoon h video was definitely a lot sharper than the p4. and I don't believe he was telling the truth about battery life. (correct me if I'm wrong). also I would like to know wich is faster.
Don’t believe your video comparison. I saw the quality of the Typhoon video on a 32 inch screen. Looked a thousand times better than what you showed. Yours looks like what I get with the 720 cheap camera. You sell DJI or something?
IT APPEARS THE PICTURE QUALITY IS A BIT BETTER ON THE PHANTON, UNLESS YOU CAN MAKE ADJUSTMENTS IN THE CAMERA SETTINGS. I AM LEANING TOWARDS THE TYPHOON THOUGH. CAN YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE IN VIDEO QUALITY BETWEEN THE TWO ? KEITH KUHN PS GREAT TUTORIAL = SUPER JOB
It's my first day researching drones. I used to think DJI is just an overpriced toy for western rich kids. I watch this video, I am convinced it is better than the H. The battery life almost 30% more, more compact, better hover and better follow. Also much better camera, as the narrower angle looks more cinematic. Full body cover vs vulnerable naked design of the H. The Chinese should stick to making cheap copies. I'd pay £300 for the H, maybe more and have lots of fun with it. But if I am asked for £1000, I go for quality and technology.
Yuneec Typhoon H is much better than any crusy DJI, that's not even a comparison. This boy was paid by DJI, and it's obvious. I've experienced them both, and I must admit that the Yuneec Typhoon H is far superior. Hands down.
Because he doesnt know what hes talking about. Every hexa or octa has that "amazing" feature. These kinds of "Pro reviewers" only know out of the box products like this ones. ehehe
Have you flown a Phantom before? Do you own a Yuneec?
the st16+ controller is actually a FULL 7IN Android Tablet. it also does EVERYTHING check mail go online and control your copter, the Yuneec actually beats the Phantom 4 in EVERY aspect. you just cant watch a bias video
Jeez. These comments are like Apple verse Samsung fans. 😂
Retractable gear and not having props show up in your video is not a "party trick".
Yeah
You can really tell when a fanboy do a review lol
I realize it is kind of off topic but do anybody know a good site to stream new tv shows online?
@Emilio Reign Flixportal :)
@Simon Aaron Thanks, signed up and it seems to work :D Appreciate it !!
@Emilio Reign You are welcome :)
All I have to say is I own both machines and I just know from experience that there are a lot of whoppers being told about what this does and what that can't,also comparisons aren't being performed on equal playing fields.
FANTASTIC comparison and review.I like how fast you talk and how quickly you move through the subjects. nice work
The Typhoon H clearly wins on two points, 1/ having redundancy if a motor fails or rotor gets damaged.
8 hours to charge the Typhoon RC?!?!?!
100% Charged Transmitter will last 12-16 flights.
-Team Yuneec
I read in a test that one full battery flight took the RC down from 100% to 80%, that doesn't equate to 12-16 flights unless my maths are failing, no comments on the 8 hour charge time ? or the aircraft battery nearly two hour charge time with no way of checking if a battery is full or empty without striking the aircraft up and viewing in the app ? So if you have four batteries and want to check the battery levels, you have four aircraft initiations to do this. If you have four P4 batteries you simply press the battery button to check, so all batteries checked within seconds.
.ر
Starting to wonder if it will make it past the concept stage and in to actual production they haven't even released an actual price for it.
also, a sonar system works in the dark, a visual system doesn't.
+eurochild242 it's already been proven that DJI's system is working better than Yuneec's so far.
This guy sounds like a shill for DJI.
Can the Yuneec TYphoon H be used with a VR headset such as the Blitzwolf VR?
Hello +Ted Rockwell, ST16 transmitter has an HDMI out port which may be utilized with headsets that have an HDMI port. -Team Yuneec
I have used Phantom 4 Pro and use Pix4d capture or Dji GS Go Pro etc, in this case, with this drone Yunec which application app can be used to perform missions photogrammetric flight? thanks.
you'd think he would be able to say DJI correctly because they paid him for this biased review
I was considering Yuneec, but the picture quality, battery life and range are significantly better on the DJI. The difference on these important factors isn't even close.
Why does he keep saying DGI?
He does that with a lot of products, to much of a hurry to slow down and speak clearly.
Ken!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wuvs You!
Cause he can. And his like/dislike isn't disabled, so express your opinion! ;)
oh, Another! pick a hole why don't you.
The p4 is way better then the typhoon H he should watch Toms tech time review between the p4 and the typhoon H
Yes, you can adjust the camera settings on the Phantom 3/4.
Until you touch it or see the video quality
I thought it was an excellent review....
Until I saw you were wearing Crocs.
LMFAO.. Best troll comment ever..
You know that you want to take them off and sniff his toes.
Not with this link, they don't.
you're a DJI fanboy
DJI Is having a great discount deal for the DJI Phantom series and Inspire series! Go check it out: click.dji.com/M9gs8Vy_CiuUCXC7?pm=link&as=0004
+Daantje Best f*ck off idiot it is still the same price
+It's JUST Me me me hono?
+Ohne abo Du hast keine abo. Sie sind falsch, hat DJI viele Probleme
+Ohne abo no, conditioner is better!
......a few questions:1)where did you make this Video? 2)is it possible to get a better camera on the yuneec?3)is it possible to connect a FLIR (infrared) cam on the Phantom 4?
Camera on the typhoon H isn't up-gradable nor is the camera on the P4. Flir cameras can be installed on any Drone if you have the money for the modification.
***** Ok so you can take the camera off. Now what?
+Andrei Taylor - Throw the original camera in the trash and hope a better one is developed that doesn't cost a fortune. Meanwhile, you have a camera drone with no camera. Not good.
PinchnerHouse Exactly!
There is a Mod out already for the H. look it up on youtube. it is sooooo much better then the P4/P3
12:14 you say “obviously we have the raw capability” ?
.. I'll take one of each! I actually like having the option to fly different drones.
Good and clear review for me. I decided to buy the typhoon for the price quality range in the 360 degrees mode!
Super Video! Wo sind diese Aufnahmen entstanden?
Is there really that much of a difference? I need help as I am not experienced with drones and want to buy one, but looking at review videos the phantom 4 just looked like a slightly tweaked version of the phantom 4 but double the price
I don't think you're taking the artificial sharpening on the P4 into account. The H footage looks better imo.
It seems like the P4 is still the right drone for me. Thanks for saving me $1,100!! Great review.
The Typhoon H is $1,000. How could the P4 save you $1,100?
Tony & Chelsea Northrup I have the 350qx,the Chroma,Q500,and numerous off brand quads. The Typhoon H is the smoothest flying one I have yet to own.The flight is so smooth and it’s pretty fast to be so big.Worth every penny
Whoah, it's only $700 in my local store
I bought mine for 400 dollars refurbished the yuneec and it's perfect
also, beautiful city with the mountains in the background. where is it?
Ur personal preference is more on the phantom right?
This seems very biased to the dji, any cons to the dji?
Dude, this guy is a shill for dji... cons? good luck with that. Don't bite the hand that feed you.
Go buy the DJI Phantom 4 now with 50% discount, 2 free batteries and 1 year free DJI care from the DJI store with this coupon: click.dji.com/AJccjgB4-uDj4eRpJA?pm=link&as=0001 Check it out right now.
you should just call this video hey let's bash yuneec
***** except the yuneec controller is awesome! ... according to enthusiasts, in the hobby, and to call it the controller complicated is, IMHO biased( & or simple minded) The industry wants more degrees of control.
Had he named the video "my opinion", no one would bash.
@@thebiggestgeee I have to agree the controller is good... but the drone and camera are being outclassed by DJI drones. I wish Yuneec would have focused more on quality than needless toys (the steadygrip for example)
I can tell this guy got paid by dji to make this video. He sounds like dji groupie
I can tell you made a bad choice and bought the Typhoon H instead of Phantom 4.
The P4 looks like the rest of the bowling pin gangbangs that DJI has come out with.. How many problems can the P4/p3 have?? Jesus..
+rens heefteenpens go f*ck yourself idiot, that is still the same price
Yeah this is true
+MuahMan 😂😂. Phantom all the way!
I don't know what all the hate is about, but it seemed like a solid review to me, and also sounds like the P4 is the better, all around, choice... If you disagree could you explain why?
Thank you for the vid buddy, how high can these drones go roughly?
Sky's not the limit, the law is.
Technically it is around 5 km, my friend said he once flew to 6 km high
Check out Tom's Tech Time comparison video
+MOTILAC I second that! His review was spectacular.
I saw it now. Thanks :-) i agree too, its even better then this and i think its difficult to top it
It would be nice to see the upgraded typhoon h with the intel obstacle avoidance no one had a review on it
There's a reason yuneec didn't install it on the H successor, the h520.
I honestly think the colors on the Yuneec are far superior, however I do notice a difference on the image sharpness.
Talk about a biased review.
Or he actually liked the DJI Phantom 4 more than the Typhoon
DJI loyalty is strong in this one regardless
Nah he got paid.. nuff said. Gave himself away... kinda like you cameron cromwell or Long duk Dong w/e your real name is..
Is it, or is it just the truth?
Maybe he doesn't like how thick it is...
but I bet you like it thick.. jus saying funny how your are on here trying to cover for the fanboi
Do either of these limit the altitude you can fly?
Yes
To 400'?
yes
Steve Laminack obviously
only limited if yer in GPS mode
Why on u tube is the typhoon images superior to the P4? Every point u made was contary to the actual footage. Strange, doed dji compensate you?
Tim Wiley y
There's still a little DJI on your chin, you need to wipe that off
Great in-depth review Waj, most excellent and informative. Thanks so much! (I sub'd as a result!)
i debated on the dji phantom 3 and the yuneec q500, i went with the yuneec, came down to design, both shared similar features. would you mind checking out videos of mine, im pretty new to drones
WHY DID YOU LOWER THE RELOSUTIONS OF THE TYPHOON H, IT IS SHARPER THAN THAT, I HAVE ONE AND IT LOOKS ALOT BETTER
why are you shouting
good review but we wish you compared prices and parts prices as well
This guys brand loyalty is too strong.
and he didn't mention cons on the DJI side. probably a shill
this is one of the most bias reviews I have ever seen.
XD
Ok.. then what about inelesence for the typhoon.. I can't find a comparison with that factor.
Nice review, would enjoy seeing you do one like it with the phantom and the xstar.
Compass calibration is a pain in the ass. Phantom 4 calibrate much faster
And so? you are happy with your ph4 great for you.
Thanks for sharing.
....THANKs! ...Please tell me where is this fimed? What Mountains are surrounding this Locations?
Was it only me who noticed the volume interference on the P4 camera at 12:02?
Thank you, much appreciated
search youtube for the Mod available for the H. it is soooo much better then the P3/P4. also remember. the Phantom camera you are stuck with. the H camera can be removed with a click and a newly released camera can be added.
For me it looks like the Phantom has a normal Camera Mode preset an the Yuneec use a very flat preset. I never saw a comparison with both cameras in RAW.
love the typhoon h but im a big fan of phantom how much it cost for a typhoon h?
At Best Buy they both sell for $999.00
An excellent and thorough review with many like for like comparisons.
So unless they're both the same price, the DJI doesn't win the contest
what is the typhoon range in the open air?
Tom's tech time also did a excellent comperasion of these two aircraft. DJI wins.
Love B&H photo. They have always been customer focused. Many thanks to them.
he was obviously on the dji p4 side. the typhoon h video was definitely a lot sharper than the p4. and I don't believe he was telling the truth about battery life.
IT APPEARS THE PICTURE QUALITY IS A BIT
BETTER ON THE PHANTON, UNLESS YOU CAN MAKE ADJUSTMENTS
IN THE CAMERA SETTINGS. I AM LEANING TOWARDS THE TYPHOON THOUGH.
CAN YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE IN VIDEO QUALITY BETWEEN THE TWO ?
KEITH KUHN
PS
GREAT TUTORIAL = SUPER JOB
there is already a camera Mod available for the H. it is so much better then the P3/P4. just search UA-cam for it.
Thanks i will check it out.

This guy has GOT TO BE EMPLOYED by the DJI PHANTOM 4 company!
Why not compare the Phantom 4 to the Typhoon Q5004K ?
The ST-16 is wonderful, fits in my hands well. I use the neckstrap and let it hang in front of me when I need both hands.
Well... Except that the chinese make the "quality and technology" too, since Dji is a chinese company that makes their products in China XD
Yuneec Typhoon H is much better than any crusy DJI, that's not even a comparison. This boy was paid by DJI, and it's obvious. I've experienced them both, and I must admit that the Yuneec Typhoon H is far superior. Hands down.
I don't understand why people are comparing the Yuneec hex to the DJI quad. Should really be comparing the Typhoon 4k to the Phantom 4.
I´m just wondering why are you comparing quad and hexa copter. Apples and Pears...
Because he doesnt know what hes talking about. Every hexa or octa has that "amazing" feature. These kinds of "Pro reviewers" only know out of the box products like this ones. ehehe
