    Mazda is such a well equipped car it’s a shame there is so many issues with the 2.2 engine

      I can not entirely agree, those issues which I'm posting in my videos are on the first models and the neglected ones. Imagine that I have customers driving without replacing of oil for 30K, the highest mileage last year was 55K. I also have customers mechanically-minded and replacing oil every 15-16K driving long distances with no engine issues whatsoever. Some people do not comprehend that diesel engine is for long distances, that engine must be hot for its best performance 🙂

      @@JB_Auto ok good to hear the issues were fixed, I had a friend with Mazda 6 2.2 lose all compression, perhaps timing belt snapped? Would cost same value as car to repair unfortunately. Love the videos thank you!

    In Japan, Mazda 6Gen 2.2 Diesel vehicles are specified to change oil at 3000~5000km.
    I think the oil change guidelines in other areas are too long.
    日本では2.2Dのオイル交換は3000km~5000kmを指示されますが、DPF再生が他地域の環境でも頻繁なことを考慮すると、日本以外で指示されているオイル交換の目安距離は長すぎるのではないかと思います

    I have a quick question. Using the OBDLink MX+ Bluetooth scanner with the Car Scanner app on Android, but can't see option for oil pressure on a Mazda 3 2014 2.2 Skyactiv diesel. These cars have oil pressure sensors, but can't understand why the ODB scanner cannot read oil pressure. It can read fuel pressure though and many other things, but not oil pressure. There's oil temperature, centrifugal crankcase oil separator (RPM) and oil change distance metrics. Any advices? Thanks

    Can I ask you a question about the engine. I have a possibility to buy a mazda 6 2.2 skyactiv 150hp 170000km but there is the problem with oil pressure. While normal driving (hot or cold) the oil pressure will not light, but when I drive it more dynamic the light will show up. Allegedly the car was at official dealer and they said that the oil pump chain is stretched, what I pretty do not belive but who knows. I am a mechanik so some sort of work I can manage myself on this car. How can I diagnose if it is just the typical problem or there will be a problem on crankshaft, bearings, etc... Replacing the timing chain, oil pump chain, oil sump, camshaft, fuel injector seals is no problem but total dismantling of the engine and problems on crankshaft, main and rod bearing is a no go for me... Thank you.

    • @JB_Auto
      @JB_Auto  Рік тому +2

      That's right, the worst. That what you've been told about the chain is not possible, even if the chain is stretched it will not affect oil pressure, they probably had some problem with lubrication, like injector washers leak, therefore clogged oil strainer and that hasn't been fixed in time, so the damage might be substantial, check out this video. ua-cam.com/video/VF6cVSb5dG8/v-deo.html I wouldn't buy that car unless you obtain a good overhauled engine.

    Hi JB, have the low oil pressure message on the dash, no other errors. Could this be the oil pressure switch/sensor?
    Where is it located and cannot find it, would you be able to point to the right direction? Thank you

      I have shown the oil pressure switch location in this video. First, find out the fault code because it could be just an oil change, as described in the video.

    Thanks. Mega useful video. Used this. KPa ok. Similar results my scanner 125-150 idle. 375 up over 3500rpm. My oil pressure fine luke warm idling. Fine boosting driving first few cool ish miles. But once on highway hot higher speeds over 30 mins get major problems. Low oil pressure p055 code. Question. Has oil got warm and has engine got carbonised at sump strainer oil pump and thus pressure drops when oil warm ?? Thanks. Cuts out. Red oil light and eml and switches off. What should I do with this Mazda

      Watch my other video, the one with P055F and P06DE that could be helpful, at this stage it needs good diagnosis, I recommend Mazda dealer it will be quick and precise diagnosis and cheap compering to independent workshops.

      @@JB_Auto thank you. I’m in UK. Our main dealer stealers are known as part fitters. I worried a non Mazda tech main dealer just get codes say. Oil pump. We need extra 3 hours investigation. At £150 per hour.

    • @JB_Auto
      @JB_Auto  Рік тому

      Based on your description you need to do a diagnosis. One DTC is assigned to many solutions, which is why they need to dismantle parts for verification. Changing just the oil pump may not help, let's say there is damage on big end bearings or even on the crankshaft... in rare cases there could be electrical system malfunction and so on. Whenever I perform diagnose I stick to the checking procedure

      @@JB_Auto Thanks, totally agreed trouble codes themselves not being conclusive
      I've an update
      Car up at 70c temp KPa's 145-149 idle but 3000 rpm same ( 150 ); however 3500 rpm jumps 390 and back 3000rpm and back at just 150
      Is this the pressure not being able be read properly, bad read, or blockage carbonised causing problem being read accurately ? Thanks

    • @JB_Auto
      @JB_Auto  Рік тому

      @@zzhughesd Could the strainer be clogged, there could be a problem with the oil solenoid valve at the RHR corner of the engine which is sticking/carbon on it, fix that first. While removing the oil sump check the big end bearings as well, the last thing will be the oil pressure sensor.

    • @JB_Auto
      @JB_Auto  Рік тому

      Well, not for every engine, but manufacturers exaggerate with so-called long-life oil in diesel engines. For example, VW group they, have plenty of warranty jobs regarding oil leaks all over the engine; one thing is that it is a bad job done in the factory or possibly construction of the engine. Another is deteriorated oil; if you look at Mazda D engine, where oil replacement is neglected, or intervals are extended, you will also see leakages.
