Why Did Airbus Build The A330?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 25 сер 2024
- The idea of building the Airbus A330 dates back to the mid-1970s when the European planemaker was looking to improve the A300. The concept for the A330 was to build a widebody aircraft that could compete with the Lockheed L-1011 and the McDonnell Douglas DC-10.

Aer Lingus bought their A330s at a heavily discounted price. In exchange, they were to use their planes to help Aibus get ETOPS approval for the Type on North Atlantic.
the a330 is one of the most buttery planes out there
This is the god butter-machine. Every a330 I flew since my 3yo, landed like "uh ?? we landed right now ? I thought we're still in air" or when I play "fifty, forty, thirty, twenty, ten, ten, ten" and then landed smoothly make me very satisfied like I'm going to heaven. I can't even imagine that they ll be out of service in next decade. :')
Not one of the most. One and only Butter machine in the world
The a330 is truly the ONLY aircraft (including the a340 but cmon they are basically the same) that has hard landing protection. Every herd landing it does turns out to be quite smooth

I can't believe that the DC 10 was a good airplane once
It was before ETOPS became a thing.
When we go to hell we’ll all be forced to ride DC-10s

Looking forward to flying in the A330-neo.
i fly A330-300 every year because it is the most common plane in australia
Brick Life I fly it to HKG.
Yeh qantas uses the a330 a lot
That would be the 737 and a320
Unless your talking about international
I’ve flown A330 and A380 probably the same amount of times each and they’ve both been great. Not sure what the “problem” seems to be with A380 in particular. Both have been great. I’m feeling nostalgic for flying again. It was great.
Why did Boeing build the 737 Max?

I flew the a330 (trans Atlantic) for the first time In October with delta.
It was a pleasant flight.
One of the best planes ever made
Yeah I agree especially I love the A330 of Philippine Airlines which is our flag carrier operating from Manila to East Asia Countries and Australia. I traveled already many times from Manila to Tokyo Narita and Sydney.
Airbus was ahead of its time, the A330 is one of Airbus's best planes and they made it in a time were other companies like MD were making DC-10 that crashed so many times.
Because it is my favorite plane
Eyyyy that’s my airline in the thumbnail 👌
Nice presentation as always, looking forward for why 737 was built soon!
A330neo =most beautiful wing.

A350 is already the most beautiful Airplane😂

@@limaluiscesar I did not see your comment before, but thanks, my English is very bad, sorry for that.
I've flown a lot and have been on the A330 more times than any other aircraft. This is mostly because all the flights I've done across Australia, e.g. MEL-PER, BNE-PER, SYD-PER many times per year.
10 months later, in February 2021, some airlines are even retiring these! How sad this is......

The next video would be "Why A330-300 is the perfect Airbus widebody?"
India loves the a330
Compared to smaller widebodies and the A330 when its introduced, i imagine that it feels larger not only on its length, but also wingspan.
Like, A300, A310, 767, Dc-10 and L1011 were around the same size, and then there's 747.
Although there's Md-11, it still looks a bit smaller compared to the A330-300.
And like what the video says, i imagine the A330-300 being the largest twin engine widebody at its time, just before 777 were introduced.
Also, the early concept design on the A330 looks like the A300, but longer while still using the same wing, unlike the larger wing that the A330 have.
Nevertheless, the A330 is one of my first favourite aircraft, and i still love it to this day:
A330-200 (with pw4000)
A330-300 (with cfm6)
A330-900neo
A330-800neo
Fantastic video! Thank you.
Some of the more sensible widebody models out of the Airbus widebody product line that many have been out of touch with the Aviation market.

tks for your video simply flying,.i get more information about airbus330.
I don’t know if it was the plane or the airline, but I did not care for the plane. I like Airbus, just not my experience on the A330. I do wish the A330 tanker would have stayed selected in the USAF (flew KC-10’s) as the Boeing tanker has turned out to be a disaster.
Good video 👍
The A330 is an amazing aircraft. Unfortunately b787 has thrashed it. Let us hope we can see 2000 A330
Next: Why did McDonnell Douglas build the MD-11?
In short - they didn't have the money to build a twinjet lol.
@@steinwaldmadchen I know this was 2 years ago but MD could just take off the tail engine from the dc-10 and they'd basically have an a300 🗿🗿🗿
How about next video it could be 737 vs. A320 family! 👍
1:56 Is that a missile or rocket beneath the L1011?
it's a rocket carrying a satellite or something like that. That L-1011 is called Stargazer.

The Airbus A330 Was First Flight On October 14 1992 Passenger Plane
I wonder what if airbus built the a340-500 and 600 with 2 engines, now that could've slapped the 777 in the face, or overall all the a340's with 2 engines, and before someone comments "the a330 is the a340", i meant the extended fuselage a340 with 2 engines
Airbus is simply the best 👍🏽

Quick answer: why not
Because why not
I ĺove a330❤ plane
I love Airbus❤️
to butter
I really wanna know why did Boeing made the 717 and Airbus making A310
Handy Wijaya 717 was McDonnell Douglas’s new plane that was supposed to replace the dc9 I think it was supposed to be called the MD 95 but then since They were absorbed into Boeing they got the jet instead. Don’t know about the a310 I think airbus just wanted a smaller plane and that was the easiest option
@@jackjones72 Yeah, but it was Airbus most ugliest plane for me.The same as Being with their 747SP
Why did airbus build the a330?
Umm ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ oh because they hate boeing and needed a plane to compete with the B767 or something like that

Next episode why did boeing build airplanes not trampolines
A330 has sold about 1759 units
Airbus built the A330 because they want to get more money just by making butter landings
Why did they build it? To make money I’d assume.
I’ve flown the a330 several times. But I’ve flown the 777 more, and I am a bigger fan of the Boeing. The 777 has an unmatched legacy and history, plus being more beautiful and more well thought in my opinion. The GE90 and upcoming GE9X engines are just so great. The wider cabin makes the planes feel more spacious inside. The a330’s cabin feels kinda weak and the windows that go up by the end of the fuselage just make me go crazy. Also, those winglets are just ugly. But I can’t complain about the plane. I’ve had great experiences in it. When comparing the A330neo with the 787, it’s easy to see who’s leading the mid size wide body segment better. The Dreamliner is cheaper and more efficient. And it’s also waaaay better for passengers
boeing 787 dreamliner vs airbus a350xwb..meanwhile boeing 777 vs airbus a330...
VS A340-600
Imagine liking airbus
I only dislike cuz of the side stick. If you said what is ur fav airbus plane it is the a310.
Brue I prefer Airbus then Boeing
Why dislike the sidestick? Its a lot more space efficient, and prevent obscuring flight instruments etc. Majority if the fighter jets use a stick too.
@@consciousanimusic9293 I think it's because of no feedback scheme that could jeopardize the safety (happened on Flight 447). A330 is my most favourite airliner but for passengers airline I think yoke control with feedback system is preferable.
@@msb3235 Airbus designed their Airbuses to be flied by computers and managed by pilots, so space efficiency is preferred. The problem is back in the days when sidestick was still new to Civil pilots, they probably weren't get used to that in contrast to fighter pilots.
