The Qatar aircraft were configured for flying lots of foreign workers back and forth to India and other Asian countries. For short / medium routes the CEO engines and planes are more suited than heavier wider more advanced replacements and on the used market are easily and affordably available…..
In my view, I don't think some large carrier like CX will replace the A333 immediatly as they are a very good working horses for the Asia regional air routes or Oceania routes. However, the heriter of the A333 should be found on the comming days as the current A333s are getting older. In my view, A339 and A359 are the best heriters for them. Simular to the A346 of Lufthansa, an one-on-one replacement should be provided for them.
A330 is a solid plane and has been a workhorse for international routes with Delta since they merged with Northwest. But honestly the Delta One suites are aging like cottage cheese and I wish they’d get rid of the reverse herringbone seating.
The 777-300er can be held onto for a bit longer because Boeings never finishing the X. I’m not kidding United has the FIRST 777 ever built and they still operate it those planes age well
@ I don’t get why Boeing phased out the production of the -300ER in 2021, not kept it in production till at least 2023~2025 due to the delay of the 777X.
@@malahammer I think the A330neo is believed to be cheaper than other similar sized aircraft, but it has somewhat worse fuel economy. Airlines operating dense shorter routes should benefit this type more.

Just don't buy Boeing 787 haha 330neo or 350 are both ok - pilots are also already doing mixed fleet flying which is nice in terms of operational flexibility (eg: if a 330neo breaks down and needs to be replaced with the 350, or vice versa if capacity is low) Maybe they will order the A330-800 Neo for lower capacity operations?

I’ve been a dedicated BOEING man my entire Professional career ( except the first 4 years where it’s a miracle any of us live to tell the stories of old underpowered barely maintained A/C. They are going thru extremely difficult times & I pray they get their s**T & fast because I’m too damn old to hv to learn Airbus Equipment! Hi again all, I forgot to mention that I’ve lost 3 darn good friends to them being forced into newer generations of aircraft & yes, I realize this is somewhat not related or relevant to the aforementioned topic, however, I’ve no doubt many of you that are older like I am & learned from the very old school “ steam gauges” when going thru Instruments training. Lord knows it’s not remotely easy to re-train your brain to learn something that is (IMO) completely different in how the instrument reads to you. And forgive me as obvious this is but we all know that in the real world over 95% of what we do is completely & totally by instruments. My point to all this , is BOEING believes in trusting us as Professionals to ACTUALLY FLY the Aircraft regardless of all our company rules to engage the auto-Pilot before 10k ft or whatever your company says to do. These days it’s AUTO EVERY DAMN THING! I’ve no problem with advanced technology & software but the very second I heard about the 73 Max crashes , I said to myself “ I guarantee it was low budget airlines”. And as we all know NOW, they were. Don’t know about you guys but if there’s some new systems installed either as upgrades or a brand new 1st Generation plane , I ONLY HAVE 1 REQUEST! Whatever it is PLEASE MK IT EXTREMELY SIMPLE FOR ME ( as the PIC) to do only 1 or 2 things TO GIVE ME 100% CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT! We sure as hell should NOT hv to go thru BS checklists that can take minutes instead of seconds to give us total control!!! Of course NOW , we all know there WASNT ANY PROCEDURE available to those crews that would hv allowed them to save their incredibly dangerous situation. And that truly pisses me off! Neither of those crashes should hv ever happened! The mere fact that Boeing NEVER explained to companies buying the the 73 Max & saying “ we didn’t want to OVERLOAD the crews with technical issues” or close to that. When I heard that I was beyond livid! How can a multi BILLION DOLLARS Company use such a pitifully stupid ass excuse ? There’s LAME & there’s stupid. Both of those are pitifully obvious & well below what their Excuse should hv been. Nobody should ever put the GD greedy ass PROFIT ahead of safety. SHAME ON YOU BOEING! In my 36 years I’m beyond grateful I’ve never once had a mayday or serious emergency! Only once did an instructor kill the fuel feed in an MU-2J model but thank god we had plenty of altitude for me to salvage that idiots move. He was fired for that! And rightly so considering the MU-2 J only had 650shaft & the saying “ lose an engine in the MU-2 & the other ( engine) will get you to the crash site!” …… oh believe me, that saying was incredibly true! My company at the time completely changed the rules for check rides after that debacle! Sorry everyone this was a bit long but I am incredibly dedicated to my Profession & to me it doesn’t matter if the Aircraft is empty for a ferry flight or there’s only 10 people on board….. they deserve complete & total safety plus 100% dedicated Professionalism from us! Anything less than be uber driver!

All airlines are bringing back older aircraft to meet high demand while waiting for delivery of new aircraft, which are also in high demand.
Cathay is also planning on phasing out their 777-300ERs too, and they would be replaced with their newer successors the 777-9X.
