as a daily user of the tab a7 lite (bought for about 100 usd it was 169 cad) i have to say it holds its own. its not a powerhouse but i get about 10 hours per charge, plays games fine, nice display, and ive even dropped it twice from gut height without any damage beyond a little nick in a trim piece.
would it be good for reading books online and alsp practising a little coding in an online coding platform from the browser(the processing doesnt happen on the tab, but on the server of the website)? I just need it to read books and code while laying on my bed, so just want to make surs the text isnt too grainy or pixelated because of the inferior display.
@@daruiraikage if you hold it at about 12 to 18 inches from your eyes its like reading a book. the blue light filter turned to the max gives my eyes an excellent experience reading ebooks and news articles. yellow tinge but i loke old books anyway.
@@sisphil2012 if fast charge is enabled itll lower the battery life a bit. dont rely on the built in battery save features. with this tablet apps just gotta be set not to use background resources if they dont need them cuz itll drain the battery like no tomorrow. when i discovered this it was because i was aceraging 22 percent of battery drain caused by stuff i wasnt even using.

I think the A7 Lite is an excellent bargain for what you get at that price point. It is nearly 1/3 the cost of the iPad mini. That being said, the design choice of putting the usb and headphone jacks close to the edge of the bezel vs. the bezel center is a cost savings decision. By placing the ports on the edge of the bezel they can making the casement thinner without sacrificing structural integrity. Therefore, using less material and saving a few pennies/device.
i have the a7 lite, its hot trash. i get like 29 fps on old school runescape mobile. i dont recommend it whatsoever, frame rate drops as soon as you get to youtube.
Right now the A7 is actually like 1/5th - if not 1/6th - of the price of the Ipad mini in the same exact retailer... It's actually kind of insane hahahaha
I bought the A7 Lite LTE. Can insert sim card and use it like a phone. Bought it for FPV when flying my drones and it works 100%. Also bought the matt no smudge screen saver. USB port and headphone jack you say are not center. Makes perfect sense to me as the cables will be flush when on a table. Causing no stress to cables.
You answered my question Glen looking at this to fly my mini 2 and mavic air 2 , I’ve been hearing mixed things even on the fb groups but ive heard that downloading the app direct from DJI is what makes it work, and you are confirming that.
Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is just a budget tablet just for day to day consumption and online classes, This tablet is not for gaming activity or heavy gaming. This Tablet is recommended to save more money because Ipad is way more expensive.
They feel like completely different classes of device imo. The iPad mini 6 has way more functionality for a midrange device, while the tab 7 lite is a budget device. I think a galaxy tab with an SPen would be a better comparison.

@@manefedu8374 the only problem with P205 samsung is it use underpower processor and have very limited internal storage to install large app, it does have exelent Ui, work great for writing, simple drawing, and other basic stuff, but can't run any popular game,

I'm not big fan of big displays.I wish Samsung produce a tab with 8 to 8.7 Aspect ratio and equips it with latest specs such as Exynos2200 or SD 8 gen 1, FHD @120hz diplay, dex mode, basically tab S features.
My almost 10 year old Fire HDX 7 tablet still works and has a better display than anything Amazon has made since the HDX series. If only Samsung (or Amazon) would make something similar today that isn't gigantic or over $400 but can actually compete and beat Apple for less.
I got the iPad Mini 6, it’s brilliant so far. The on-screen keyboards need some re-work. (Too crammed or too big, need an adjustable), text/font scaling can use a re-work as well, but looks great otherwise. Amazing color & sharpness. As an Apple Mac long time user for home, it just makes sense, fits in w/ the echo system. I’ve owned Galaxy, primarily the Note Fablets since new, love them, so I’d miss my S-Pen. My note’s felt their sluggish age in 3 yrs but U can still use them OK. 2015 iPad Mini 4 is currently on iOS 15.4. Both nice depending on your echo system or needs. I find the iPad Mini 6 better in its class (small form faster) right now. A Galaxy Note 20 Ultra in 8.8” size would be amazing though. I’d buy it. Prolly £1,200
I have both too.. samsung tab a7 lite for my mum to watch youtube only n I use ipad mini 6 as my daily driver.. I was looking to buy iphone though as I already have an Android phone, so finally I took ipad mini to get experience of apple os... iPad mini 6 has a newer design , very light weight n with a15 bionic latest chip with lower price than iphone 13 series... so I think this design will remain many years... n it's butterly smooth.. n I'm more than happy 😁😁
Was looking to get one of these for an all in one daily driver device, the ipad mini is almost there but I has no ear peice on the LTE version and doesn't operate well as a phone while the A7 lite strives in the LTE department it doesn't support spen input and the cameras are a hog load of shit, totally uncomparable to phone cameras or even the ipad mini camera. In that aspect I'd prefer a A7 lite LTE with a better screen and performance as well as spen support or the ipad mini with a better software that doesn't look like a blown up iPhone and better LTE UX with an ear peice to communicate when receiving calls.
I prefer the Samsung, have both. I like the aspect ratio better, and the option of storage, although apps not transferable to SD. In day to day use the Samsung is not greatly different, even if on paper specs superior, the build quality of Samsung is excellent!
I like Apple's cameras and over all the way it runs smooth. I just hate that there's always a battery issue after a while, like the battery charges super fast or slow but the battery will die after 1 1/2 hrs. Also the fact that they've purposely slowed down device's to make it's customer's upgrade to a newer product. Samsung on the other hand has been built like a tank but obviously runs a bit slower and the cameras aren't that good. At least in the budget side of things.
iPad is better for students because of good notes (app) in my opinion. Unlimited storage after 1 payment for the app for note taking. A lot of students used it. It sync with all other apple devices and for iphone app goodnotes too. I used it on the go for work/school when it come to studying. This is my opinion, but I do respect everyone opinions what they prefer nonetheless.😊
I dont know why samsung can't make this small tablet more powerful. This is what most consumers want and they seem not care. Those 10in to 13in tablets can be cumbersome to hold and are not practical.
If it was the small size and it had an spen and 1080p it would sell like hotcakes and maybe good for business too but they went even bigger with the s8 ultra lmao
I think it would be a cool video comparing the iPad Air 4 and some refurbished iPads from Apple since you can sometimes get a steal on a refurbish iPad Pro 2018. I can’t imagine the average consumer would need more than an A12X chip.
I have the Samsung Tab S6 lite. The specs for that tablet would be a better closer comparison against the Ipad mini 6. It is currently running in Best Buy at 299 plus tax.
Sadly tab s6 lite don't have dex support, and the s5e have dex but no pen support. Literally samsung has no tablet (small, between 8-max10 inch) with s pen and dex support. I would even pay the price as for the iPad mini... but at this point the iPad mini 6 is the only one who covers this, sadly is not android and of course no dex, but at least iPad is ok also also without something similar with dex...
I have the A7 lite and its pretty good, period. I don't use it more often because its not as practical as I need it to be (too slow for my use). It`s a great tablet, perfect size, but I can only do one thing at a time. I`m getting the mini 6 :)
I have the tab A7 lite and I've already updated 3 times and it's getting better more stuff is added 💀 anyways I've been having it for 2 years now and it's not broken not even when it falls on hard floor😅💀💀
I really hope that Android manufacturers like Samsung, Huawei or Xiaomi will think of releasing a tablet in the format of the iPad Mini 6 but with better processors like Snapdragon 870 at least and pencil management. I think Xiaomi will be the 1st to do it with a price around $300 maximum 🤞🏽.
I appreciate this review. I needed a small tablet for note taking and I'm a Samsung user so I wanted to see if I should get the A7 Lite or the iPad Mini. You just confirmed my choice. If Samsung had a S Tablet in 8 inches that came with the S Pen I would've bought it over the mini.
I got the Samsung as a device as my other tablets are really old and slow I could root them but for this price it was easy choice.... I can lug it around and not worry,,, for 130 its an eldo cheapo ... I dont need an expensive tablet. It works for me. I check my stocks ,,, youtube, news, email, reddit . etc,,,, Its also easy to one hand it.
iPad Mini 6 is now 499/615 (64/256 GB) euros in Finland, while the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite costs 99 euros (32 GB). So it is very much like comparing apples to oranges... Not a very meaningful comparison, but I guess the A7 Lite is a much better value.
Samsung need to come out with a Samsung ipad mini. Samsung can easily slot in a mid range soc, add in the S-pen. A good combos. Price it lower than ipad mini. You got a ipad mini killer.

Silly comparison. I was looking for a second device and ended up with the I pad mini on monthly repayments. I’d rather be in debt having something I want than end up regretting the purchase. The mini is brilliant and compliments my I pad pro. Both have different uses. Regardless of what anyone says Apple provide products that you can rely on. Others may have different opinions but every pad or phone hasn’t missed a beat.
If you were only going to own one tablet, wanted it to be small and wanted the best, I’d go with the iPad mini if you could afford it. However in Canada I can buy quantity four (4) Samsung Tab A7 lite for the same money. That includes the cost of buying a 128 GB memory upgrade. My iPad 9th generation and Samsung Tab A7 lite together were the same price as the mini. No brainer!
Display, my PC that I can boot to Win 10 Pro to play or boot to a distro that provides me tools to edit content. Camera, I have a dedicated camera that is used to take pictures and I have a GoPro. Performance, neither of these tablets will compare to my PC. RAM, my desktop prior to this one had 32G and my current will be probably get upgraded to 64G. Apps, WinChokes for somethings and distro for the rest and Proton is coming along very well also. Pricing, my GPU costs about the same as a iPad Mini 6. Devices are chosen overall for price, form factor and usage. What is the logic of comparing these two devices when one is designated as Lite? At this moment the "Mini 6" is at ~$670+ USD while the Lite is ~$119. How about those who rip DVD/BD to a microSD, that's a lot of content. Consider that this Lite unit makes for a great starter tablet for young people. They drop it accidently, you're out far less cash than what one would pay for a "Mini 6". Did you review this and realize that you come across as Apple shill? Note that the "Mini 6" is a fine product.

Like comparing Apples and Oranges! There is a huge price difference between them. Not everybody has the funds to spend on Apple products as Apple is quite expensive! They don’t do budget! Most people just want a basic tablet for mail, surfing, a video or mild game playing!
I'm planning to buy an iPad Air 64gb within my budget. I will take a lot of notes on the iPad. As the price of 256 GB iPad Air is too much in my country. So I want to use a portable SSD later. Then can I store the files from GOODNOTES there ? And how much storage can a file of goodnotes of 10 or 20 pages usually occupy? There are no iPad users around me to ask. So, can you please tell me before I buy iPad.
You mention that the ipad mini works with the apple pen and the tab A7 doesn't work with the S pen. But can you still use other pens with the A7? Only passive ones or can you also bluetooth connect (and have palm resistance) with third party pens?
I used to be a huge Apple fanboy until my best friend gave me his old crappy 7" Galaxy Tab in 2015. I loved the Android and Samsung experience and it opened my mind! In 2016 I decided to buy a brand new 7" Galaxy Tab A6 which only came with 8GB storage and like 1GB RAM. Guess what? I used that tablet heavily for 4 straight years, using it like 10+ hours a day for 4 straight years. And in 201 it still worked fine, it was pretty fast for a cheap Samsung tab and for a 4 years old tablet. I just hated that I always had literally 0GB storage and always had to delete stuff every single day. That was so annoying. I also hated the 1 speaker it had on the back. Anyway, that little tablet made me fall in love even more with Samsung tablets and I finally bought the $600 Galaxy Tab S7. Best electronic device I have ever used! It's a blessing from God, since iPads are very limited and don't have many of its functions and features. The Tab S7 (& S8 soon), is the best value for a tablet. That said, the iPad Mini is my favorite iPad lineup and I love them a lot too! They are very important for me, because I'm a heavy mobile gamer and a 10" inch or bigger tablet is too big, heavy and uncomfy for playing games. So I always play on my iPad Mini 5. I also love using Procreate with my Apple pencil 1. I hope the iPad Mini keeps getting popular! I only buy Samsung and Apple tablets, because they are the best of the best. I will probably upgrade to the GalaxyTab S10 or S11 as my overall main tablet and iPad Mini 7 or 8 for gaming and drawing 🤩🤩
Besides the size of the two tablets I don't think this is a fair comparison just keep note that the iPad mini is around 500 plus dollars base model The Samsung a7 lite is 159 here base model so of course is going to be some huge differences That's over three times the price so I would hope that it would have better qualities than every aspect but yes I would recommend the a7 lite if you just want to do it for media consumption and for a young child and if you want to just save money if you have the money to spend then yes getting the iPad mini would be a great option but if you have that much money to spend and know that the iPad mini only has 64GB base model starting at 499 and that's very low if you intend to use that as you stated iPads have such great support software support for 4 or 5 years or so but this thing fills out its capacity after the first year how good is that if the software updates eat up your near storage and you have nowhere to install anything also note that that doesn't have SD card slot and then if you pay for the higher model of the iPad it goes to 256 storage I believe and that's about $150 more so now you're getting into the iPad pro 11 inch territory and from there I would actually just recommend an iPad pro so to me the iPad mini is a very small niche market that I don't really recommend for most people but I actually recommend an iPad pro to people because it's simply starts out at a higher storage Of course it's going to be more expensive but then go back to the argument of how much storage the iPad mini has 64 is nothing nowadays especially for a tablet that has no expandable storage
Yeah, these tablets aren't really in competition with one another. They're at entirely different price points. Something would be horribly wrong if the iPad wasn't overwhelmingly better. When you look at them in the proper context the A7 Lite is a good tablet for its price tag and the iPad Mini is a mediocre tablet for its price point.
The point of this video is if it's worth it to spend 3-4 times as much for the iPad mini. For basic web browsing and watching videos, the answer for most people is no. If you're playing games or using apps that need the extra power, and want an 8" screen, then yes. Although the standard iPad is a better deal than either of these.
I had a budget Samsung tablet, similar to this one, and what I can say is that after 3 months they go to hell. UA-cam and simple games would refuse to load or couldn’t even play. These tablets are great for a kid in the car to keep busy with UA-cam, but don’t expect any work with it. Unless they have really improved since the the Tab A8.

I've been thinking of upgrading my ASUS Nexus and would the A7 be a better tablet? My main uses would be to check the web and play a few word games. I also have an iPad Air 2.

@@danmar007 Used to have the Nexus 2nd generation tablet back in 2014. It lasted me about 5 years until the battery drained in a few hours and it would randomly reboot. I flashed a couple ROMs to it to no avail but proved a very good product nonetheless, it was just past it expiration date. I ended up replacing it with a 2018 iPad 9.7 which I still have to this day. Both the Samsung or a 2-3 yr old iPad should do the trick replacing the venerable old Nexus. You'll notice a ton of difference anyway

Easy conclusion for me: I‘d never buy Samsung/Android again. I got the Samsung Tab S2 and it was good for about one year. No updates came and it got sluggy as hell. Besides the expandable space with a micro SD isn’t really useful because Android refuses to use the SD card as internal space so you just got the base GB of space and maybe 128GB SD card for fotos…If you just want a nice tablet for youtube take the S7. If you want more from a tablet always buy the iPad.

I have a cheap lenovo 10 inch tab. It was to big for comfortable usage like a phone. I like to read books, surf the web and youtube. A year later i tried finding a cheap 7-8 inch tab and opted for the A7 lite. Booting it up takes 2 minutes, ok not that bad since i will use it for a couple hours. But what i dont understand is why a 2021 tablet still performs like something from 2015, it feels really sluggish. Thats why im now opting 2 years later to buy the ipad mini 6 since i cant find a 7-8inch tablet that is fast. Sure you can find cheaper and faster 10inch tablets but they are too big for my liking.

Can u make calls and text? Cus for some reason mine doesn't...I called Samsung they said there's 2 types for this tablet one with SIM card and one without...I have the one with but T-Mobile, who sold me the tablet, told me it has to do with my plan they said none of their plans allow calling even though google has said this tablet can make calls and texts...now I'm thinking is it the carriers?
Honestly i want ipad mini because of the procreate app. The cheapest here in my country with wifi only cost 661 USD and i still have to buy the apple pencil. Meanwhile the a7 lite is 174 USD, not even 1/3 of the ipad mini and already has lte network. So yes i just bought the samsung (2 weeks ago) though it doesn't have palm rejection and procreate and honestly i still admire ipad mini. I hope android will make affordable yet powerfull or at least powerfull 8 inch tablets like they used to. Bought an ipad mini 6- interestingly i found that whatsapp does not have ipad supporting app and one needs to use whatapp's web version which is pretty inefficient to operate and functioning is quite restrictive. I wanted to buy ipad mini as an all-in device for me which should cover messaging, voice chat, reading, studying market, browsing, youtubing, watching movie and etc.Since i dont have any personal phone device ( except for my work phone) whatsapp is kind of important therefore and for that reason i bought the celluar version. Another thing i notice that not all apps support portrait mode. One of the investing app that i frequently use is only open in landscape mode. It is farily uncomfortable for me. I have beem thinking of returning this purchase. Do you have any suggestions or comments?
Not in the same tablet range, not the same price, so not really fully comparable. Comparing budget to not so budget is like Comparing a Chevy Spark to a Camero.
I just got the Samsung and somethings it really surprised me. I watched a few moves and UA-cam videos and it's really good, emails and google docs basic net stuff good. Anything else it struggles. I was hoping to save and use this for my work. The pen 🖋 with a external provider is poor compared to other Samsung products, Android is annoying I feel as well compared to other products as it constantly chugs with multiple tasks running. So if you wanted to have it for the lounge at home then it's totally worth it. For my needs not so much. Ipad mini fully equipped with the 🖋
I understand there isn't a comparison between the two, but I think that's the point. There is no competition for Apple in this 8" range. For a tablet, that's the optimal size. Other companies need to catch up.

i have the a7 lite, its hot trash. i get like 29 fps on old school runescape mobile. i dont recommend it whatsoever, frame rate drops as soon as you get to youtube.

I bought the A7 Lite LTE. Can insert sim card and use it like a phone. Bought it for FPV when flying my drones and it works 100%. Also bought the matt no smudge screen saver. USB port and headphone jack you say are not center. Makes perfect sense to me as the cables will be flush when on a table. Causing no stress to cables.

Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is just a budget tablet just for day to day consumption and online classes, This tablet is not for gaming activity or heavy gaming. This Tablet is recommended to save more money because Ipad is way more expensive.
They feel like completely different classes of device imo. The iPad mini 6 has way more functionality for a midrange device, while the tab 7 lite is a budget device. I think a galaxy tab with an SPen would be a better comparison.

My almost 10 year old Fire HDX 7 tablet still works and has a better display than anything Amazon has made since the HDX series. If only Samsung (or Amazon) would make something similar today that isn't gigantic or over $400 but can actually compete and beat Apple for less.
I got the iPad Mini 6, it’s brilliant so far. The on-screen keyboards need some re-work. (Too crammed or too big, need an adjustable), text/font scaling can use a re-work as well, but looks great otherwise. Amazing color & sharpness. As an Apple Mac long time user for home, it just makes sense, fits in w/ the echo system.
I’ve owned Galaxy, primarily the Note Fablets since new, love them, so I’d miss my S-Pen. My note’s felt their sluggish age in 3 yrs but U can still use them OK. 2015 iPad Mini 4 is currently on iOS 15.4.
Both nice depending on your echo system or needs. I find the iPad Mini 6 better in its class (small form faster) right now. A Galaxy Note 20 Ultra in 8.8” size would be amazing though. I’d buy it. Prolly £1,200

Was looking to get one of these for an all in one daily driver device, the ipad mini is almost there but I has no ear peice on the LTE version and doesn't operate well as a phone while the A7 lite strives in the LTE department it doesn't support spen input and the cameras are a hog load of shit, totally uncomparable to phone cameras or even the ipad mini camera. In that aspect I'd prefer a A7 lite LTE with a better screen and performance as well as spen support or the ipad mini with a better software that doesn't look like a blown up iPhone and better LTE UX with an ear peice to communicate when receiving calls.

I prefer the Samsung, have both. I like the aspect ratio better, and the option of storage, although apps not transferable to SD. In day to day use the Samsung is not greatly different, even if on paper specs superior, the build quality of Samsung is excellent!
You can actually move some apps and games to SD CARD
I like Apple's cameras and over all the way it runs smooth. I just hate that there's always a battery issue after a while, like the battery charges super fast or slow but the battery will die after 1 1/2 hrs. Also the fact that they've purposely slowed down device's to make it's customer's upgrade to a newer product. Samsung on the other hand has been built like a tank but obviously runs a bit slower and the cameras aren't that good. At least in the budget side of things.
Apple is upgradable to new OS for years, and the Samsung can't do that

Only use it for lite use. Watch YT but mostly used to attach to my vintage stereo and listen to Pandora. Does fine.
iPad is better for students because of good notes (app) in my opinion. Unlimited storage after 1 payment for the app for note taking. A lot of students used it. It sync with all other apple devices and for iphone app goodnotes too. I used it on the go for work/school when it come to studying. This is my opinion, but I do respect everyone opinions what they prefer nonetheless.😊

I dont know why samsung can't make this small tablet more powerful. This is what most consumers want and they seem not care. Those 10in to 13in tablets can be cumbersome to hold and are not practical.

I have the Samsung Tab S6 lite. The specs for that tablet would be a better closer comparison against the Ipad mini 6. It is currently running in Best Buy at 299 plus tax.
Sadly tab s6 lite don't have dex support, and the s5e have dex but no pen support. Literally samsung has no tablet (small, between 8-max10 inch) with s pen and dex support. I would even pay the price as for the iPad mini... but at this point the iPad mini 6 is the only one who covers this, sadly is not android and of course no dex, but at least iPad is ok also also without something similar with dex...
I have the A7 lite and its pretty good, period. I don't use it more often because its not as practical as I need it to be (too slow for my use). It`s a great tablet, perfect size, but I can only do one thing at a time. I`m getting the mini 6 :)

I appreciate this review. I needed a small tablet for note taking and I'm a Samsung user so I wanted to see if I should get the A7 Lite or the iPad Mini. You just confirmed my choice. If Samsung had a S Tablet in 8 inches that came with the S Pen I would've bought it over the mini.
I got the Samsung as a device as my other tablets are really old and slow I could root them but for this price it was easy choice.... I can lug it around and not worry,,, for 130 its an eldo cheapo ... I dont need an expensive tablet. It works for me. I check my stocks ,,, youtube, news, email, reddit . etc,,,, Its also easy to one hand it.

Samsung need to come out with a Samsung ipad mini. Samsung can easily slot in a mid range soc, add in the S-pen. A good combos. Price it lower than ipad mini. You got a ipad mini killer.

Silly comparison. I was looking for a second device and ended up with the I pad mini on monthly repayments. I’d rather be in debt having something I want than end up regretting the purchase. The mini is brilliant and compliments my I pad pro. Both have different uses. Regardless of what anyone says Apple provide products that you can rely on. Others may have different opinions but every pad or phone hasn’t missed a beat.
If you were only going to own one tablet, wanted it to be small and wanted the best, I’d go with the iPad mini if you could afford it.
However in Canada I can buy quantity four (4) Samsung Tab A7 lite for the same money.
That includes the cost of buying a 128 GB memory upgrade.
My iPad 9th generation and Samsung Tab A7 lite together were the same price as the mini. No brainer!

Display, my PC that I can boot to Win 10 Pro to play or boot to a distro that provides me tools to edit content. Camera, I have a dedicated camera that is used to take pictures and I have a GoPro. Performance, neither of these tablets will compare to my PC. RAM, my desktop prior to this one had 32G and my current will be probably get upgraded to 64G. Apps, WinChokes for somethings and distro for the rest and Proton is coming along very well also. Pricing, my GPU costs about the same as a iPad Mini 6. Devices are chosen overall for price, form factor and usage. What is the logic of comparing these two devices when one is designated as Lite? At this moment the "Mini 6" is at ~$670+ USD while the Lite is ~$119. How about those who rip DVD/BD to a microSD, that's a lot of content. Consider that this Lite unit makes for a great starter tablet for young people. They drop it accidently, you're out far less cash than what one would pay for a "Mini 6". Did you review this and realize that you come across as Apple shill? Note that the "Mini 6" is a fine product.

Like comparing Apples and Oranges! There is a huge price difference between them. Not everybody has the funds to spend on Apple products as Apple is quite expensive! They don’t do budget! Most people just want a basic tablet for mail, surfing, a video or mild game playing!
I'm planning to buy an iPad Air 64gb within my budget. I will take a lot of notes on the iPad. As the price of 256 GB iPad Air is too much in my country. So I want to use a portable SSD later. Then can I store the files from GOODNOTES there ? And how much storage can a file of goodnotes of 10 or 20 pages usually occupy? There are no iPad users around me to ask. So, can you please tell me before I buy iPad.

I used to be a huge Apple fanboy until my best friend gave me his old crappy 7" Galaxy Tab in 2015. I loved the Android and Samsung experience and it opened my mind!
In 2016 I decided to buy a brand new 7" Galaxy Tab A6 which only came with 8GB storage and like 1GB RAM. Guess what? I used that tablet heavily for 4 straight years, using it like 10+ hours a day for 4 straight years. And in 201 it still worked fine, it was pretty fast for a cheap Samsung tab and for a 4 years old tablet. I just hated that I always had literally 0GB storage and always had to delete stuff every single day. That was so annoying. I also hated the 1 speaker it had on the back. Anyway, that little tablet made me fall in love even more with Samsung tablets and I finally bought the $600 Galaxy Tab S7. Best electronic device I have ever used! It's a blessing from God, since iPads are very limited and don't have many of its functions and features. The Tab S7 (& S8 soon), is the best value for a tablet.
That said, the iPad Mini is my favorite iPad lineup and I love them a lot too! They are very important for me, because I'm a heavy mobile gamer and a 10" inch or bigger tablet is too big, heavy and uncomfy for playing games. So I always play on my iPad Mini 5. I also love using Procreate with my Apple pencil 1. I hope the iPad Mini keeps getting popular!

Besides the size of the two tablets I don't think this is a fair comparison just keep note that the iPad mini is around 500 plus dollars base model The Samsung a7 lite is 159 here base model so of course is going to be some huge differences That's over three times the price so I would hope that it would have better qualities than every aspect but yes I would recommend the a7 lite if you just want to do it for media consumption and for a young child and if you want to just save money if you have the money to spend then yes getting the iPad mini would be a great option but if you have that much money to spend and know that the iPad mini only has 64GB base model starting at 499 and that's very low if you intend to use that as you stated iPads have such great support software support for 4 or 5 years or so but this thing fills out its capacity after the first year how good is that if the software updates eat up your near storage and you have nowhere to install anything also note that that doesn't have SD card slot and then if you pay for the higher model of the iPad it goes to 256 storage I believe and that's about $150 more so now you're getting into the iPad pro 11 inch territory and from there I would actually just recommend an iPad pro so to me the iPad mini is a very small niche market that I don't really recommend for most people but I actually recommend an iPad pro to people because it's simply starts out at a higher storage Of course it's going to be more expensive but then go back to the argument of how much storage the iPad mini has 64 is nothing nowadays especially for a tablet that has no expandable storage
Yeah, these tablets aren't really in competition with one another. They're at entirely different price points. Something would be horribly wrong if the iPad wasn't overwhelmingly better. When you look at them in the proper context the A7 Lite is a good tablet for its price tag and the iPad Mini is a mediocre tablet for its price point.
The point of this video is if it's worth it to spend 3-4 times as much for the iPad mini. For basic web browsing and watching videos, the answer for most people is no. If you're playing games or using apps that need the extra power, and want an 8" screen, then yes. Although the standard iPad is a better deal than either of these.

I had a budget Samsung tablet, similar to this one, and what I can say is that after 3 months they go to hell. UA-cam and simple games would refuse to load or couldn’t even play. These tablets are great for a kid in the car to keep busy with UA-cam, but don’t expect any work with it. Unless they have really improved since the the Tab A8.

Absolutely true. My Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2019 is the laggiest device UI-wise I've ever use. And I've used some really budget phones.

@@danmar007 Used to have the Nexus 2nd generation tablet back in 2014. It lasted me about 5 years until the battery drained in a few hours and it would randomly reboot. I flashed a couple ROMs to it to no avail but proved a very good product nonetheless, it was just past it expiration date.
I ended up replacing it with a 2018 iPad 9.7 which I still have to this day. Both the Samsung or a 2-3 yr old iPad should do the trick replacing the venerable old Nexus. You'll notice a ton of difference anyway

Easy conclusion for me: I‘d never buy Samsung/Android again. I got the Samsung Tab S2 and it was good for about one year. No updates came and it got sluggy as hell. Besides the expandable space with a micro SD isn’t really useful because Android refuses to use the SD card as internal space so you just got the base GB of space and maybe 128GB SD card for fotos…If you just want a nice tablet for youtube take the S7. If you want more from a tablet always buy the iPad.
Some apps can be moved to the SD card. Some streaming apps will let you download video to the SD card.
Android Tablets have come a long way since the Tab S2….

I have a cheap lenovo 10 inch tab. It was to big for comfortable usage like a phone. I like to read books, surf the web and youtube. A year later i tried finding a cheap 7-8 inch tab and opted for the A7 lite. Booting it up takes 2 minutes, ok not that bad since i will use it for a couple hours. But what i dont understand is why a 2021 tablet still performs like something from 2015, it feels really sluggish. Thats why im now opting 2 years later to buy the ipad mini 6 since i cant find a 7-8inch tablet that is fast. Sure you can find cheaper and faster 10inch tablets but they are too big for my liking.

I was gifted the tab a7 lite :'))) i appreciate it bc they knew how bad I wanted an ipad mini for drawing and notes. I've always been a Samsung fan, but i wanted to try the ipad mini since it's more portable and easier. I feel embarrassed carrying a huge tablet around.
Is it worth it to get the ipad pro 2020 this year? I want to use it for University and i prefer the 12.9 inch size.

bought the apple, returned it the same day. the aspect ratio itself was so odd, gave me a headache. was it 4:3?
There's no question that Ipad mini is much better in every aspects than tab A7 lite but how can we compare a $500 tablet to $160 tablet!
If you want a mini tablet then it all comes down to the budget.

Can u make calls and text? Cus for some reason mine doesn't...I called Samsung they said there's 2 types for this tablet one with SIM card and one without...I have the one with but T-Mobile, who sold me the tablet, told me it has to do with my plan they said none of their plans allow calling even though google has said this tablet can make calls and texts...now I'm thinking is it the carriers?
Why comparing a 99€ tab with a 500€
Honestly i want ipad mini because of the procreate app. The cheapest here in my country with wifi only cost 661 USD and i still have to buy the apple pencil. Meanwhile the a7 lite is 174 USD, not even 1/3 of the ipad mini and already has lte network. So yes i just bought the samsung (2 weeks ago) though it doesn't have palm rejection and procreate and honestly i still admire ipad mini. I hope android will make affordable yet powerfull or at least powerfull 8 inch tablets like they used to. Preferably with pen like galaxy note, bcs I'm mobile and love to read, also bigger tablet won't fit in my purse. Thanks so much for the video

Bought an ipad mini 6- interestingly i found that whatsapp does not have ipad supporting app and one needs to use whatapp's web version which is pretty inefficient to operate and functioning is quite restrictive. I wanted to buy ipad mini as an all-in device for me which should cover messaging, voice chat, reading, studying market, browsing, youtubing, watching movie and etc.Since i dont have any personal phone device ( except for my work phone) whatsapp is kind of important therefore and for that reason i bought the celluar version. Another thing i notice that not all apps support portrait mode. One of the investing app that i frequently use is only open in landscape mode. It is farily uncomfortable for me. I have beem thinking of returning this purchase. Do you have any suggestions or comments?

Not in the same tablet range, not the same price, so not really fully comparable. Comparing budget to not so budget is like Comparing a Chevy Spark to a Camero.
I just got the Samsung and somethings it really surprised me. I watched a few moves and UA-cam videos and it's really good, emails and google docs basic net stuff good. Anything else it struggles. I was hoping to save and use this for my work. The pen 🖋 with a external provider is poor compared to other Samsung products, Android is annoying I feel as well compared to other products as it constantly chugs with multiple tasks running. So if you wanted to have it for the lounge at home then it's totally worth it. For my needs not so much. Ipad mini fully equipped with the 🖋

I understand there isn't a comparison between the two, but I think that's the point. There is no competition for Apple in this 8" range. For a tablet, that's the optimal size.
