- Should you buy the iPad Mini 6 or the Galaxy Tab S7? And which tablet is a better value? Okay, I have to admit that at first, I didn’t really understand why I got so many questions about - which is better, the iPad Mini 6 or the Galaxy Tab S7. But when I looked closer, I realized that there are a lot of similarities, and at the same time, even beyond the size, there are some extremely important differences. I’ve used these for Social Media, gaming, watching videos, browsing the web, and things like taking notes and multi-tasking. And because I love both, this was a challenging comparison, so let’s talk about which one is better.

I still love my Samsung Tab S7. It's been giving me so much fun out of all of my tablets I've had for years. I've had it for almost a year now and I've never been happy with a tablet that'll help me get through everything I need.

@@isuper0 Battery life is still good on my end. It takes about 1 hour to charge it completely. Doing notes, watching media, painting, I think I had to charge it only once a day. So far, battery life is pretty good.
Great comparison. I have both and enjoy using them for different uses. The Mini 6 has great build quality, performance and superior app support. But there are some apps that are not optimized for the Mini. The S7 has a better display and scaling, expansion, DeX, and the S pen is really good. With the keyboard cover the S7 can come close to being a laptop replacement, while the Mini 6 is better for travel and mobile uses. Personally, I prefer Android os because of the flexibility and customization it provides.

Thanks, I respect the fact you have both. Given my limited needs for such devices, I was on the fence. I'm cool with samsung's UI . Really don't want to pay that apple tax. So, I opted for the display, dex , refresh rate, expansion slot, battery , and keyboard case.. Never owned an apple but i can live without the extra power and apple store. Just wish the update support was longer.

I have a mini 6 that I often use for work and quick pdfs. I caught the S7 Plus on a really good sale not too long ago and use that mainly for content consumption since I am often mobile. I love both and one couldnt go wrong with either

I absolutely love my Tab S7. I honestly think it's a really good all in one package, having enough processing power, an amazing screen and it's perfect for jotting notes while having online classes. In my opinion, get the iPad Mini if you wanna play games, and get the Tab S7 for productivity.

@@mattsaljanin583 I did, and when compared to my iPad Air, it is a little more reflective. But it didn't make much of a difference for me, and I didn't mind the slight reflectivity either.
Hi!!!! I got the mini 6 for Christmas and i LOVE it. I am a senior in high school and am so happy with the note taking features and the Apple Pencil 2. I also love it for content consumption. A lot of students use iPads for note taking and since I already have a MacBook Air this is the perfect choice for me

I've got my Tab S7 Plus with S Pen and Keyboard cover. It's been my laptop replacement for a while. Though I'm heavily considering the Mini 6 for daily use on the road. Atleast until Samsung makes a flagship 8 inch tablet.

I'm still loving my Tab S7+, it's literally been a life/game-changing device for me over the past year: The multi-tasking power of DeX is sooo key to productivity, it's my preferred device for streaming TV, movies, & UA-cam videos, and the _centered_ 1080p webcam has been great for guesting on other creators' livestreams (via Streamyard or similar Cloud-based services).
I even shot a video recently on it which is part of another creator's year-end collaboration...all in anticipation of bringing my own finance & tech channel live.
As for the iPad Mini 6, it's "cute" but a bit small for my taste -- not to mention overpriced IMO when you jump storage to a more-usable 256 GB. And that jelly-scroll thing would drive me NUTS 😩🤣
Hopefully, by the time my old reliable iPad Gen 5 dies, there will be better yet more affordable choices for my iOS exposure !
2:30 I've seen you mention this functionality in many videos, but you should make it clear that fingerprint and face unlock can be had on at the same time in samsung devices. which means if you're wearing a mask, use the scanner. if your hand is wet, use the face ID. no additional thought needed. Apple users might not know this.

Nice video again. This might be a bit off-topic, but I found it is challenging to keep staying on the Samsung side as the value of the tablet drop quickly. Like the comment I have on your video last time, I have been trying to sell my tab s7 and get a iPad mini6 because of the mobility. However, the value of the tab s7 drop like crazy and no one is interested to buy it second handed. Wish Samsung would work on something like the iPad mini6.
@@lauriealach1072 The thing is that those series that you mentioned are the lower class samung tablet which is not as the same as how apple put the iPad mini at. Ipad mini has afar better spec compare those.

@@arquiel if the Tab S8 has an AMOLED panel, an S-Pen slot similar to the Note series, and a second USB-C port then it would be a really good tablet.
I feel like a killer feature is Univeral Control. It’s not out yet, but whenever it does get released, I’m going to use it a ton.
Though you should never buy hardware based on future software promises, remember AirPower?
It's an interesting feature. At this point, I look at it as something "cool" but I'm not sure how it will actually be integrated into my workflow. Can't wait to try it.

Exactly my devices now. Came from ipad mini 5. Sold to upgrade to air 4 but unluckily out of stock for a month and i need a tablet so i was forced to samsung tab s7 but regretted due to its weight. Really missed the mini so when the ipad mini 6th was announced immediately grabbed a mini 6

I like my iPad mini, but apple needs to update the interface for the Mini because it’s not very pleasant browsing and typing. Everything seem to be kinda small when there are rooms on the screen to make the texts and icons bigger. I’m not good at explaining lol, but you get the point.
They should of kept display zoom mode available, this is the problem
Yeah, this still annoys me somewhat. Home Screen Widgets are tiny compared to iPhone. Dock icons are tiny once you have more than a few
I actually have both! I am giving my Samsung tab S7 to my father because he is in need of a laptop and I believe this is a great replacement (Samsung Dex is great!) because all he does is download movies and connect it to the TV to watch them. On my iPad mini I use this as a secondary monitor for work, content consumption, drawing and digital planning. I think they are both really great tablets and really great for what they were made to do. If I had to only keep one though, I would keep the Tab S7 as there’s just way more things you can do with it given that it has Dex and a bigger screen.

I sold my laptop a couple of months ago and have been using a Tab S7+ with an external bluetooth keyboard and mouse as a laptop replacement. It's been perfect!

I have s7 and I love it, but, honestly, the screen ratio is still kinda weird, it's too narrow for a tablet, imo, and I always use portrait mode

Definitely wait, i have a tab s7 and its great. I plan on upgrading to a s8 plus or ultra fue to the larger screen which is amoled and the beefer snapdragon 8 gen 1 chip

Tab S7 is the best drone tablet I ever tried !! Just the perfect size , and picture . No problems whatsoever. Always use airplane mode with wifi in high interference areas

Depends on your budget. As someone who just graduated, I got more use from my MacBook Air than my Tab S7. I was able to highlight from Apple’s standard pdf viewer and tab notes just fine. However, me personally I would snag and iPad Mini 6 and an Apple Pencil if you can afford it. If not, the Tab S7 or Tab S6 lite are not bad budget options. Can get a used Tab S7 on most selling sites now for $400. Just don’t buy a Tab S7FE.

Seems like an easy one for the S7 to me.... I really think we need to stop referring to the iPads as being more powerful..... Or the most powerful tablets. The fact of the matter is the OS does not allow the iPad to fully utilize that power anyway. It's like having a Ferrari engine in a Honda Accord.
There's nothing additional that the iPad allows you to do with its power that the S7 cannot. Other than a handful of pro video editing apps that the majority of the public won't use. Simple things like signing a PDF on an iPad can prove incredibly difficult.
In fact the S7 is the tablet that will offer you far more that you can do. It has the features to match all the power under the hood.
What's the use of using Geekbench speed tests??? In the real world the iPad mini has no advantage in speed over the S7.... And lacks many of its features that would have been able to capitalize on that speed anyway. S7 is a fully powered tablet that will never leave you wanting for more processing power.

I was waiting for the nits, or which one is brighter for watching video hd content in full brightness. But since he didnt say anything about it, I'd guess the Samsung. But I might be wrong since IPS are normally brighter than AMOLED.
Nice to see people going to bat for the S7, I've had the S7+ for almost a year and will say the BIGGEST flaw of Android tablets is the horrible app optimization. Phone versions, great, tablet versions, suck. Even the Amazon shopping app is horrible.
I used to repeat the hum drum of "oh there are some other similar app that works well" etc, but truth is, I need the same app that's on my phone, or there is no alternative. At this point, it's maddening how little app developers care about Android tablet apps. Even subscription budget apps aren't optimized. DBrand: "We don't make skins for it because there's not enough demand" *has products for every apple product ever*. Developers suffer the same problem.
This is not a Samsung problem, but as an android diehard, this is a significant issue stopping me from recommending android tablets to anybody who wants to do "most things on a bigger screen". Even apps that are optimized for bigger screens don't have landscape layouts, so apps that work, you can't use (realistically) with the physical keyboard.

True, but also android tablets don’t last as long as iPads. An iPad can easily last u 7 years.
ya, part of them is true, but you can change the way to use it, for the app that doesn't pair with good tablet form factor, i suggest you use it by floating windows or pair with other apps that relate, chat or video, and make them into a paired apps on your sidebar, then you will find it is super convenient and looks pro, haha, for example: i paired FB with UA-cam, UA-cam with multiple of chat, Browser and chat or shopping apps

I enjoy my tab s7. Although when it comes to note taking and note annotation, my wife's ipad pro 11 inch is superior. Still, I love the tab s7 and would never trade it for anything bigger. Very helpful since most of my work is using web tools and samsung dex just works like a laptop when I need it to. Slap a usb c hub on it and you have one hell of a powerful device that far exceeds in productivity vs Apple's ipad.
Do you use MS Excel? If you do, may I humbly know if full excel features work on the Tab S7? Thanks!
I like how people apologize for it. The jelly effect is not something that you look for, is something that you see. It's the same with the Samsung foldables. People say oh that crease is going to bother me, personally with my full Z3 it doesn't bother me.. but maybe I'm just saying that. With the jelly effect bother me, I don't have an ipad.. so I can't really say. But it's funny how both sides of the owl will apologize for one feature where is the obvious truth is you're going to see it without looking for it.
This is a fair comparison. I used to have Galaxy Tab but now I'm thinking about buying iPad mini.
What smartphone or tablet do I choose? Because I'll just use the watching and website. But I have an iphone 12 because I'll work on it so I can use it, then when I get home so I need new smartphone or tablet devices.

I have owned both Samsung & apple tablets since 2011 & I'll say back then IOS was superior, but in the past 3-4 years Samsung is the better tablet, I'm sure you fan boys will say IOS is so much smoother, but you obviously haven't owned a Samsung tablet you only base your opinion on what a biased reviewer says or you go into an electronic store and use it for an hour and come to a conclusion
You can say apple has the more powerful tablet, but in everyday use , you don't see the difference
Here's what's important to me in choosing a tablet
Screen
Speakers
Battery
Portability
RAM /CPU
Expandable memory
That's how I compare tablets, the pad pro may have the powerful processor but that's it,
The Samsung is better in everything else, although android may not get some games before apple the games play as smooth on Samsung as it does on apple
I still own a Samsung 8.4" tablet from 8 years ago
That tablet has a 2500/1600 resolution, IR blaster, dual speakers, fast charging & expandable memory
I don't care if it hasn't gotten anymore updates it still works today

However, I have found a solution to use youtube shorts on Samsung tablets.
Steps are
Slide youtube app from the edge panels as pop up view and quickly keep on increasing its size from the top left corner
UA-cam shorts will occur
Make sure it is not in the recent menu before
Now you can full screen the app

S7+ has a better display, but for me, the "real" decision would be about size. I feel like for me, the S7 is a more comfortable size. So this is where personally, I would choose a device with lesser specs, because of user experience. If they are both comfortable for you, and budget doesn't matter - S7+. Hope that helps.

When s7 just came out gaming on s7 was so bad because of blurry vision u know what i mean right .... Cz game res stuck in 1080 but display is bigger and 2k so blurry vision... Anything think the stylist pencil that comes with the iPads looks really chunky and ugly? The functionality is what counts and it might perform as good or better than the S-Pen, but ascetically speaking it looks poor IMO.

The pencil vs samsung stylus was not properly compared. Function wise samsung with free stylus has a lot of function. I am an Apple user but I feel like Apple can learn from samsung and makes the expensive pencil more function

I'm into Apple ecosystem having Apple watch, iPhone and iPads as gadgets. But I think users of Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 have more leeway how to make most of the android device.

Here in peru the mini is almost 699 and the s7 is 599
The only thing that bothers me about the Samsung is their saturated colors when editing pictures and videos.
There’s a standard mode in settings that makes the display show color in “true RGB”, or whatever.
You should have shown them side by side
why compare it to the mini tho? wouldnt it make more sense to compara to the 10.9‘ air?
