After recently reviewing the Samsung Tab A7, I was intrigued with Samsung announce the smaller Tab A7 Lite a few weeks ago.
I decided to pick one up and review it for a couple weeks to see how it stacks up to the Tab A7 and if I think it is worth the recommendation.
Overall, The Tab A7 Lite is a solid budget tablet in 2021 but there is one big issue I hope they get fixed and fast!

Would you still buy this tablet with the Widevine issue?
Hell no.. I get better resolution on my 1995 DVD player
Netflix is not my go to. I Just bought one.
I didn't know about this issue before I bought one yesterday for my mum but it won't really bother her much because she watches Netflix on her TV. She'll solely be using this for web browsing and Candy Crush.
@@exitfoundoutside7974 does the Netflix issue persist if you just download the show or movie to watch offline? Or is it only a problem for streaming

Honestly, if this table had a 1080p screen, even at a higher price point, it would be perfect. I also have an original Tab A which is dying (my own fault) and I would love to replace it with this, but the reading experience on this tablet is not as good, due to having a pretty low dpi screen.
I just bought this, but you're absolutely right. I would have shelled out twice as much for a more powerful 8 incher, but there's just nothing else on the market unless you want to buy an ipad.

My main tablet is the tab s7 plus but I picked up this as a compact portable device for work and outdoors. I think the display is absolutely fine and the speakers sound really good. As long as you don't expect it to perform like a high end tablet it's well worth its price tag

The thing is , it actually does perform like a high end end tablet in almost every way. It's Samsung, It's Galaxy, it's Android . Unless your your a 40 year old fan boy of Apple ? your no longer relevant in many ways. Don't really want to bust you , but check this unit out. Better.
Fyi, the widevine L3 issue on Netflix has been fixed, and now presents widevine L1 allowing you to stream HD content.
I just purchased the A7 lite today, and when I took it home and logged into netflix it came up as widevine l3. I thought upon installation it would have updated the A7 lite to the latest firmware but it hadn't. I done that but it still came up as L3. I went into Settings > Apps > Netflix and disabled (this might not be necessary but worked with me) the Netflix app and then clicked on the vertical 3 dots in the top right of the screen. This allows you to uninstall updates. Then go into the google playstore and update the netflix app. After this log back into the Netflix app and it should show L1.

Had this tablet for a month. Honestly, I'm not a Netflix person so it doesn't really bother me much. But, yeah, I totally agree with you. It does great on watching UA-cam, surf the internet, even doing work on the go (been using this as a compact sub for my laptop and it does it's job well with a bluetooth keyboard with a trackpad). Gamewise, on mini to medium gaming it performs well with very little to no lags at all, coughs and sputters on heavy ones like CoD, Genshin Impact, etc. I'm annoyed wkth the fact I can't transfer apps to my sd card without making it my default memory. But it's a budget tab, yeah? It's a nice tab. Great review!

@@dad.0 btw, after the recent update you can now transfer some apps to your SD card. The tab is still doing great so far!
You can also go into developer settings and change the settings to update that ability. You will need to also restart it once you do that.
I am wondering is the Netflix issue fixed yet with the update?

I know this video is old now, but mine is listed as Widevine L1 HD inside Netflix app. Also, in Brasil we have a 64gb/4gb with LTE version.

I'm getting ready to buy this lte as well as the full hard case and a blue tooth keyboard and mouse to use as my daily phone and all in one device
I've got a tab S7 already but I really missed 8inch sizes tablet. Because my best tablet was tab s2 8.0. Low Ap and resolution isn't problem. And I only spent 80$ for A7 lite 4GB Lte version in S.korea Very satisfied.
Agree, the Tab S2 was sheer perfection. Light, great screen and camera. I took it on many trips, great pictures. I wish Samsung would remake it with updated specifics.

Just wondering if it comes with anything like “parental control”? Will mainly use it for my daughter‘s home schooling. Currently she’s on an iPad 4th generation which can only upgraded to iPadOS 12.x. Unfortunately it doesn’t come with “parental control “ and my girl is spending too much time on UA-cam etc on daily basis.

I'm considering it for reading pdfs and as a second device that I can use being out of my laptop. The only thing I'm concerned about is the screen. Is it fine to read pdfs and books etc? I don't really care about high resolutions or super fast things. I want a device that's affodable and I can study in it when I'm out of my laptop. Nice video btw. Just subscribed!
First, thank you for the sub! In all honesty, reading PDFs and books should be just fine. The text isn't quite as crisp as higher res displays but no to the point where I'd be concerned
No get the 8.4 2020 or the Tab p205 or P200 not this crap trust me. Those have IPS 1080p+ displays.
And yes it is a bad display given that the colour reproduction is trash compared to the alternatives I've mentioned above.

I just got a Tab A7 Lite a few days ago. After installing all my apps the 32GB of internal storage is completely full, to the point where I can't even update apps because there is not enough space. I installed a 128GB SD card, formatted it and tried to move some apps to the SD card but it says there is not enough space on the SD card even though it's empty. Can someone help me out. Also it seems that you can't actually format and use the SD card as Internal storage like on older tablets, for example I also have a Tab S5E with a 256GB SD card that has been formatted and used as Internal storage. I have tried everything I can think of but it won't let me move apps to the SD card. i contacted Samsung and they said I should be able to. The SD Card is a 128GB Samsung Evo.

There were tablets (like Lenovo Tab 4) that had stereo speakers, but Skype couldn't used them, but instead it just used top speaker like a phone (with reduced volume), and give no option to switch to loudspeakers.

My daughter received a FREE iPad for opening a bank account ($5.00) . Don't play price games. (I would take the Android System over Apple all day long) however both have there're strengths, but Android is still the most versatile. & the A7 LITE is perfection personified, even ignoring the price. Is this tablet good for long hours of reading? Which would be better samsung a7 lite or lenovo tab m10 hd 2nd generation 4gb ram/64gb storage variant?
I'd lean M10 for a few reasons... bigger screen, can store apps on SD card, no Widevine issue. However, if portability is important, the S6 Lite may be a better option.
For reading buy Onyx Boox Poke 3
What do you recommend me
1. Tab s6 lite for every tasks or
2. Kindle paperwhite for reading 📖 and this for reading color illustrated books and watching TV shows and movies

S6 lite works great for multi-tasking. Got mine on sale, don't pay full price for it...

Any tablet would do. Id invest something in an S6 lite instead for longterm performance and no regrets. This Tab A7 Lite, in two years (or less) will stop getting samsung firmware updates. Usually with these low end models, i expect only a year of firmware updates and its stuck on android 10 or 11 or whatever its on out of the box.

Im confused I bought this on black Friday. I got the 64gb one. I put in a sd card I already had & I'm able to move apps to the sd card. It is a Samsung sd card so I don't know if that makes a difference. I'm not real tech savvy either.

Yeah that's right. My understanding is you can get a 32Gb wifi only, 64gb wifi only and 32gb wifi & sim/4g.

It's good enough for basic use like internet browsing, Facebooking, watching UA-cam, PDF reading and online meeting in apps like Zoom and Google Meet. It's a good choice if you have limited budget and if you can avoid gaming and heavy multitasking.

u need a small metal pin. insert that in the small hole and put a lil force on it and it should come out

I've had the Tab A7 lite for 3 months and I have had enough. I went and got an Apple Ipad 2021 mini and the difference is night and day. The processor and ram memory are far better in the Mini 2021 versus the Tab A7 Lite. I've done everything I can to speed the A7 Lite up and only had minimal success. Knowing what I know now, I would have went with the Apple Ipad mini 2021 instead of the Tab A7 Lite.
Here in our country you can buy 3 a7 lite for a price of mini 2021. If I have to spend that much I'll go for tab s7fe during sale. Android is much better than apple in term of functionality. You can have all premium apps for free in android.
Funny, I have the iPad mini6, I find it cumbersome, and not that light for a small tablet. I got this one to use as a Kindke, read mail, and get the news online. Plenty for my needs. I had the Galaxy TabS2 that was just perfect, light, great camera, that died for excess of use.
@@jkhanPrime yeah I have the tab S7 FE the 128 6gb ram model. It's amazing, fast I do run emulators and play heavy androud games like PGR and Genshin which works perfectly fine.

Dad joke... tough one because I prefer Android but if you side load the play store on the Fire HD I would go that route because of the wide vine issue on the A7 Lite
I am watching this in Samsung a7 lte.He is right the display is good but not the best.It is good for online class but it is not good for gaming 😉 sometimes it go's slow.

What's so hard to understand is Samsung can cram top specs in a phone but can't put those internals in this tablet
They put budget specs in budget tablets. Their phones are definitely not budget friendly
