Yeah some versions of consoles will work. I have a 2009 arcade version and it will always freeze. Try the helicopter glitch, maybe your console will make it work.
I believe that trying to customize the helicopter through rim jobs is possible due the the tinted window, although I believe that there is a much simpler way. I have found that when you are in a crib, under a garage or heliport menu, if you select, not just highlight, a vehicle and simultaneously scroll to the next vehicle, it can give the option to delete the vehicle even if it is not delete able, for example the gang cars given to you. Also this works in place of the customizing non customizable vehicles as long as the customizable vehicle is right next to the non customizable one on the list. I hope this helps, I am currently trying to customize a helicopter this way, and will probably say something if it works.
Forgot to add, I am trying to select a vehicle in the garage menu, exit the garage menu and get to heliport menu before the car loads, just as clarification.
Anybody remember that super-liked comment of somebody saying "It's because you sprint-jumped into that car at the start of the video. The glass was broken, and for the glitch to work, all vehicle parts must be new (Not broken)"?
I try this glitch and my helicopter got fucked up it had the propeller on the bottom but it still functioned normally I went to zombie island and its colour changed to a ugly brown that had blue, green and yellow spots with pink tinted windows how weird is that

You can customizte them if you mod them to be classified as boats,mod them at the boat dock,save,then mod it back so they're helicopters.
I could never get this glitch to work. It kinda worked once but the only option it gave me was to tint the windows which once I did it tinted 1 window only and that's it

its so crazy to me that this is was made 10 years ago i remember watching it when it came out this is one of the glitches im most sad didn't get solved i think it really does just boil down to different hardware having different bugs
I don't know how, but I tried the glitch at the beginning of the video and as I entered Rim Jobs, I wasn't in a car, I was in a VTOL. this was awkward because I parked a Tornado on the roof, not a VTOL. It gave me all the customisation options of a regular car, even the ability to give it wheels, tinted windows and, believe it or not, ability to get the Bootlegger's engine sticking out of the front. I put some wheels on the aircraft and left Rim Jobs, along with my Bootlegger engine, purple windows and yellow body.

I have played it. Neighbor of mine has it. I don't see how a story is good if "you become the president of the world and you need to defeat aliens".
I do like and respect the fact that Saints Row is more of itsown game now, but they still haven't fixed the glitches from SR3 to SR4, which is exactly why I say it's a reskinned game. They could've held it for a few more months, made it 4x better than all 3 Saints Rows put together and made it a launch title for the next gens.

I JUST HAD AN IDEA. The helicopter gets moved into the garage when your customizing, because the vehicle moves down into that dark room you found, So you need to do it just right so it goes in, This is just a theory, I'm going to test it out right now.

Some people are scumbags about glitches and sharing them. One person my brother told me about in particular was an LBP glitcher by the name of hazbell who never would tell anyone how to do any of the glitches he found apparently it was crazy stuff like being able to completely redo your pod so it doesn't even look like a pod anymore get all the DLC for free including all the rare stuff...etc I dunno why some glitchers are so stingy about sharing glitches you really don't have to say how to do the glitch like some people think game developers can figure out ways to make the glitch impossible even without knowing the main formula if they really wanted too because its there game.
This guy got away with it all and he's not the only one I knew a guy on PC who could do the same thing with TF2 and all the items in that games...obviously games like TF2 that are on PC have things like hacks but TF2 is a very unhackable game you really have to spend all your time focusing on one game to do any of this.

@@Diamondpinkiepie no the dark blue one can easily be obtained by getting full notoriety and using the rc gun same for the red one to get the red just go on a rampage and kill a bunch of Morningstar enemies and when it spawns shoot it with the rc gun and bring it to you the just get in and fly it to a crib with a helipad and store that's how STARENAT most likely obtained then decided to trick people and fake it being customized.
IdolNinja made a mod for Saints Row IV that let's you customize every vehicle in the game. Pretty cool mod.
also in my opinion i think if they would have put a customize station for air crafts into sa3 they would probably put it mor on a heli platform and not a rim jobs.or they intended to put a helicopter landsing pad onto rim jobs.also what i noticed is that there are random heli platforms on buildings.but there probably just decoration.sad would have loved a red heli :)

As I was watching I realised I have done those glitches shown without looking them out and also different variations of them. Good video though man.
But my point of it being reskinned is said because SR4 shares the EXACT SAME glitches as SR3. Same exact engine, same exact graphics, same exact coding (with a few tweaks to the graphics to make them glitchy), just more of it.

no the idea was meant to be a DLC, it was originally called enter the dominatrix and was meant to be a few missions long like the other DLC's. The instead they saw they could make an entire new story from it and they made it a new game rather than just a DLC.
Fl1PPY you probably already knew this but there's a mod for the PC to customize any flying vehicles in the gentlemen of steelport mod. However the only way I got it to work was putting the flying vehicles in the boat spot and customizing it there. Then I saved the game and took out the mod then my customized vehicles were in the helipad. However if you don't take out the mod you can travel in boats that look like helicopters.
how do i get a black vtol, i see heaps of videos and people are flying around in black vtols. i spammed the givevtol cheat for 1 minute straight but i couldn't get a black vtol. someone help me please
Dont save Shaundi at the end of the game, After you kill Cyrus on the Dauedelus (The big flying ship, Dont know the excact spelling) One of the rewards will be his black VTOL. Hope i helped :)

Keep crashing into the dexters tower and use the secret broom stick right after and then you jump off the top and land on the eagle (or whatever you have) Then you ride into the rim jobs And there will be a thing with all the cutscenes and then itll give you a customization to the cutscene go too Allow Helicopters and planes and there will be an option to color it and add armor do that and itll come out with the car options use it like the car options and then Boom! haha

Maybe you can do this by grabbing a friend. Your friend stays on the surface while you do the glitch to get in the empty Rim Jobs, then have your friend customize his veichle.
I have a question how do you save helicopters?
Land them on your helipad and just get out of them and they'll automatically save :)

I forgot how to customize these type of vehicle, but it is certainly not done by landing your aircraft on the roof. I remember doing something stupid with the bike while driving to the safe house and then switching to heli.

so it's been about a year and a half since this video came out. there's mods allowing you to customize helis/planes now, although it's kinda complicated. something about moving all the helicopters into the folder with boats so you can customize them, and then you have to exit the game and move them back to the correct folder. still, it's better than nothing.
also, it might not be that the feature was reserved to be sold as dlc. it could just be that it never got finished by the time the game was set to be released, so the buggy, unfinished version was left in game but locked away, only accessible through glitches.

This is probably a late comment but the Rim Jobs under the garage is where your car goes when customizing it.
i know this was from 2013, but you can just somehow in a way if possible you could probably put cars into the helicopter/plane menu and do the glitch from saints row iv with the screaming eagle.

On the save were you have the customized heli check all of ur garages for a car with yellow tinted windows, maybe customizing aircrafts only works with some cars, or maybe it only works with clean cars

You get it by doing an assassination for Kinzie on SR:TT or you can just buy it on SR:IV.
There is new elements to the game, yes, but they had to do that to make it itsown game. To me, it feels the same, except with superpowers, and we had superpowers in SR3, just not permanently. But then again, I like driving everywhere, not jumping/flying everywhere.
Being in a videogame and being able to go back in time is more proof that Volition is running out of ideas, plus a "virtual reality" game is the only hope they had of undoing their screwup of killing Gat.
