- Having made ‘Driver’s Eye’ style videos of the ascent and decent of the mountain I was left with video shots I’d taken with two other cameras, having looked though them, I decided to make a ‘Scenic Passenger’s Point of View’ video covering the ride in both directions along with views from the paths around the top of the mountain.

Great video friend, greetings from Brazil.
Hi, I'm glad you enjoyed the ride. Best wishes from the UK.
Exquisite vistas. I'd love to hike those paths. Say, why does the train have a steering wheel?! :D (Ah, okay. I see at the end, it has to do with speed or brake control. Kinda threw me there).

All the while I was watching the cliff scenery I was wondering just how many earthquakes it took to build them as Italy rammed into Europe.
Earthquakes still occur in Italy more often than most of us realise, it's only the big ones we hear about on TV. A teacher once described the earth as being like an ageing fruit (plumb to prune) that is shrinking causing its skin to ripple or in the case of Switzerland creating the Alps. I prefer to enjoy the scenery, than ponder as to whether or not a major earth tremor will hit the train before I complete my journey 🙂.
Very comprehensive coverage of this railway, Tim! It seems hard to believe those trains are retirement age - they look as if they could go on a lot longer.
Hi Jim, glad you enjoyed the videos. I don't think the old trains are worn out, I think it has more to do with efficiency and transporting more people at peak times, from what I can make out the new trains are two carriages and a little faster to enable more trains to run, I'll return at some point to ride the new trains and I guess they will be keeping one or two of the old ones for a while to cover the new ones should there be any problems and I'm sure they'll keep one for enthusiast specials.
The driver created calmness when driving downhill ? LOL🥸🥸🥸
The driver look relaxed, after all he's done it many times and lived to tell the tale 🙂.
Hi Tim! The landscape and the view are unique and beautiful 👍. But the fare is probably the same, since the length is calculated by the width and, in this case, by the height😊👌. So thank you for uploading it. Best regards from Hans and Cheers 🍻🇦🇹.
I am here to enjoy a pleasant journey.
I hope you enjoy the journey 🙂.
Hi TIM, wonderful pictures thank you, did you get to ride the cable way & is that a national park with free range grazing also did you notice the revolving radar on top of the mountain cheers bob.😲🐮🐄🐄🐄💯
Hi Bob, sorry I'm late replying, UA-cam doesn't always notify me of every comment and sometimes it matches the wrong comment with the wrong video. I didn't ride the cable car on this trip, but I done it in the past. I don't know if Switzerland has national parks, I'll have to look that up, a lot of the highest mountain peak have radar and mobile phone masts at the top. Cheers. Tim.
Csodálatos utazás
Nagyon jó hogy feltették erre az oldalra !!! Mesés a táj 🤗❤️🙏💚
Jó tudni, hogy élvezte ezeket a videókat a csodálatos Pilatus fogaskerekű vasútról 🙂.

Hi, I'm pleased you enjoyed the ride, I agree with you that Swiss mountains look magnificent whatever the weather.

great scenary
Swiss mountains are awesome, I hope you enjoyed the ride.
@@Timsvideochannel1 yes i did thanks
That was the icing on the cake: the compilation, with alternative views alongside the track, highlights the physical barriers to completion, let alone the temerity of the founders to conceive the route and build it.
To think those featured cars have been in service since their construction in 1937, let alone the track since 1889.
Thank you for your skill in making available to others, your visit in such height, depth and width. Truly panoramic subject matter.
Hello Peter, I'm please you enjoyed all three videos, the views from the sides were every bit as spectacular as those from the front. I love to see photos showing the building of the line along with the early days when women wore long dresses and the men looked like intrepid explorers. Its nice of the Pilatus Railway to give us a glimpse of the past on their website, the link to which can found in the video description.
Tim. Thanks for suggestion for further research. Peter
@@Pjs75 Cheers, I'm glad you found it useful.
