I love Kimberly's honesty - "it's not what I am about." We who watch Kimberly and FQS Livestreams are pleased that FQS has come up with this challenging block - it is not a usual pattern for her. One place in the video she says: "Take a break and finish tomorrow!" I laughed!!
Never thought to try this pattern until watching this video...i will definitely be taking breaks just so i don't get frustrated but I love how Kimberly broke this down and showed how to get this done with accuracy! Crossing my fingers y'all!!
Kimberly, another amazing video, wish I had watched your how to videos about 40 years ago when I began quilting. quilters today are so lucky to have so many tools to make our quilts more perfect. Thank you for being there for so many.
Thank you for demonstrating a very difficult block. I purchased an accuquilt Die for the feathered star....wow! what a challenge! So thank you so much for offering a more simple and "do-able" way of making this block. It is so beautiful in a full size quilt. FQS never disappoints.
Whoa, this is definitely above my skill level. Maybe the triangle and flying geese paper would make it possible. For sure I would never attempt it without using the foundation papers! Before I cut and sew this for a quilt of beautiful fabrics, I would try it first using fabric from my scraps just to see if it’s possible! Thanks Kimberly for sharing this. You do make it look easy and yours comes out so perfect! Awesome!
This breaks this difficult block down into easier units! One at a time!! With the way y’all write your patterns, you make these types of designs so achievable! Thank you Kimberly and Fat Quarter Team!
I love this revised version. I am sure they are more accurate more easily. I will be adding this to my list of quilts. It will make a beautiful wall hanging or table topper! Many thanks for all the tips and tricks, Kimberly!
I have started the Editya Sitars feathered star and as I said STARTED. Going to do this method. NO Y seams.....thank you. Great tutorial and I guess another UFO will be completed....
I have always wanted to make a feathered star but it looks so complicated. I love, love, love your foundation paper and have some so I will give this a try. It will be on my list to finish in 2023. Thank you for the step by step guide and pattern to help out us scaredy cats and simplify this design.
I have been using your press to one side BEFORE pressing open and they are so much straighter and flatter than just press open. This old dog learned a new, worth the time trick! Thanks kiddo!
Another great tutorial!!! Thank you Kimberly for all your great instructions. Happy Quilting!! Ordered my kit today and can't wait to start. You are the best!!!🥰. Laurie
I’m doing the faux feathered star and I invited my sister, my daughter and my niece to join me, but I’m only giving them the instructions in 3 separate sections once a week for a mystery quilt. I haven’t told them they could get the whole thing on your UA-cam video 😂. I’ll give them that link at the end.
Excited to attempt this! Your instructions are always clear and specific step by step. Appreciate all the tips on pinning and pressing. Thank you Kimberly!
I’m not ready for this advanced quilt yet, but I would like to learn more about your it’s so Emma triangle rolls and square in a square blocks. I would like to use them, but I’m not sure how to figure out what to order, like what size you start with and what size you end up with. Maybe a video about all the different blocks you can make with them. I really like the accuracy, and I think that is the key to not getting overwhelmed as a beginner.. Thanks Kimberly.
I have only been quilting for a year, so I love this block but will print the pattern and try it next summer. I love the foundation paper piecing, currently using the 12 inch economy block with fussy cut center to make christmas table runners..
Kimberly, you are such an excellent instructor !! Love all of your tutorials 💕 I don't think I will be trying this any time soon. Too many ufo's right now 😁
It's so helpful that you point at the directions that are written while you demonstrate so I can learn how to interpret pattern instructions! Of course you always teach us where the accuracy is built so that is super useful for success!
This is beautiful and your instructions are absolutely the best as always! Would love to make this to go with Patchwork Barn by Edyta Sitar (that I’m working on now) hanging in my long foyer.
So Glad I watched the video, as the pattern shows HST instead of flying geese! And the rectangles with the opposite ends snowballed are not reflected in the diagrams!!

Wow that an amazing quilt can't wait to try it out ❤
Thank you Kimberly!!! This is really beautiful and your instructions are so perfect!! I'm going to try it!!
When cutting triangle paper....I cut on an old cricut (barely tacky) mat so my fabric doesn't move and I can cut more accurate.
Absolutely beautiful and simplified!!❤

I’m making a quilt for my friend then I make this Block.
Could you share what straight pins you are using, I love how easy they slide in the fabric, thank you.
I think this would be great to know. I assume a very fine pin would be helpful!
