Here’s how I set up my charging at home. It’s much cheaper than using the Ford Pro Charging station. Charge Ford Lightning at Home. ua-cam.com/video/2vqMsPG7zYA/v-deo.html
thats outrageous it cost a hundred dollars more a yr over standard plate so it cost me 300 a yr for plates. i have owned mine for a month and have saved 400 hundred in fuel savings
Hi ike, I just paid $495 for my tabs here in Michigan. Normal fee would be $300 but they slap on $150 for Passenger fee plus another fee. You get penilized for saving the planet and not pollnting the air. Go figure. Rex Slingsby
I have a tesla and last time I paid for the two year tag, it cost about $500. There’s a $200 per year surcharge for full EV and $100 for hybrid (on top of $50 regular yearly plate registration) in Ohio. ✌️
Yeah it seems like a common thing for states to do, so far it’s different in every state, but I have still saved more on gas than what registration costs
Man no wonder CO gives so much state incentives when you buy an EV. They know they are gonna get that back handover fist in registration over the life of the vehicle
Yes that is true. I didn’t think about it that way, but yes you get a 5k incentive from the state which they will get back in 4 years. I guess the positive twist could be that you could think of it as they are paying for your registration if you trade it in before year five and get the next incentive if it’s still available. :-)
That seems crazy high! I also have a Lariat Lightning in Illinois, and here EV registration/plates cost an extra $100 annually. So $251 each year instead of $151.
In Utah, the extra charge is $120, plus the regular registration fee. I'll pay about $400.
That’s not bad actually.
Just test drove a 2023 XLT Lightning extended range. Man do I like it! I’m working on a quote for home charging before I decide.

Texas is 400 on purchase and 200 every year after. Taxes help pay for road work. Not as bad as other states.
Yeah that’s not that bad at all compared to Colorado.

What state do you live in?

Good to know. It seems like Colorado is one of the few that are so expensive.

Yeah I thought it was pretty crazy too.

That’s not too bad for two years.
Everything's outrageous in Colorado I just paid $500 for a 2021 truck.
Yeah that makes sense. I paid $600 for my 2022 Sienna. It’s a whole lot more than they should charge for sure.
I'm Maine it doesn't matter whether it's an EV or a gas vehicle. Any $80,000 vehicle here in Maine will cost you $1,800 as well.
That’s still crazy though, I like it when registration is not based on vehicle value.
Extra $180 for an EV per year here in NC. Claim is State losing fuel taxes revenue!!!!!
Yeah it seems like a common thing for states to do, so far it’s different in every state, but I have still saved more on gas than what registration costs
Can’t remember the exact price but it costs me 500ish for Idaho for two years
That’s actually a pretty good price.
@@F150LightningMikefound the price 557.95 for 2 years
That’s still pretty good.

NC charges a yearly property tax on what they say your vehicle is worth in addition to the normal tag fees and county taxes.
That sounds similar to what they do in Colorado.

That sounds like when I lived in Texas. Registration was not based on the value of the vehicle like it is here in Colorado.
