I like combat robot videos that are easy to follow and a have good production value. I also like your memes and extra clips. Plus you have a ginormous spinning weapon on your bot which doesn’t hurt lol. I look forward to your videos, keep them coming!

2:17 I do a mental 5 count before verbally asking to see motion, at which point I do a verbal 10 countout. he was showing sufficient translational motion (locomoting outside his radius) before I asked to see motion.
A couple things that you could consider is #1 looking into nylock versions of your bolts to solve your loosening problems, and #2 adding another piece of frame that connects both sides so that any strong sideways forces do not put pressure on your weapon axle, of course this would probably be hard with weight
Yeah I wanted to try a nut and bolt system but due to weight its not really possible unless I figure something out. But for now it seems to be working. And I am working on getting the two frames connected some how, still in the works!
One thing you could try is TPU wedge lets around the weapon so horizontals won't rip the CF anymore. If you do it though, they have to be very rounded to prevent blades catching.
Yeah I thought about doing a TPU wedge for the sides like Ground Game does. I've actually hit the problem of the weapon being so wide theirs almost nothing for the wedge to attach to. So it ends up being floppy if one side isn't attached to the other. I am working on different versions though!
That was so insane and totally exciting. edge of my seat, happy I live alone so no one notices my shouts of excitement. holy crap that was amazing! imagining the rebuild costs hurts me, right in the wallet.
Love the theme of chaing vector ever single video, even though it takes tons of effort on you behalf, its really nice to see the thoughts and reasons behind every change. Keep up the great work man!
I gasped again. Also once this bot gets dialed in it’s going to be a bot nobody wants to mess with. You found the issues and how to fix them which is the most dangerous knowledge(ps you should get a wedge even if it is small if you haven’t already) and the reason your doing so well is because you make the videos funny and entertaining. I’m looking forward to the next one!
Thank you! I try to iterate and upgrade vector all the time, hence whys he's always out of date with every video lol. And speaking of future upgrades and getting vector dialed in, Ill be posting the next video on that soon soon! And I will keep making them entertaining!
That's a great question! Their are a ton of different drives to choose from, but their are mainly two types. Brushed and brushless drives. Brushed are less expensive and have less power but are just brute force motors that can take a beating. Their pretty good for beginners as they are MUCH easier to wire up, especially at larger scales and cost benefits. Brushless motors are high speed and torque along with general finer motor control. But at the cost of well cost lol Very expensive at times but its personally what I like to run on vector. Here are two great sites that sell both types. palmbeachbots.com/collections/motors-mounts repeat-robotics.com/product-category/motor/
I love Vector! and great video as always! Looking at your new frames, would it be possible to thread the inward end of those shafts, so you could place a screw and washer there? Like this the weapon bar could take some of the load from those horizontal hits to the frame.
Yeah I thought about doing something like that, I'm actually working on a solution to solve the torsional stresses when the frame is hit by a horizontal. But also other forces as you will see in the next video. But I am working on that exact problem lol
@@TeamVector441Yeah, I think with those new side rails and the feet in front of the weapon it’s gonna hold together a lot better. Can’t wait to see the next tournament for Vector!
9:17 "But I was confident that my fight against Achilles was obviously a fluke, and there was no way that could ever happen again to Vector." 9:20 *75% power to weapon immediately* Right, "confident." 😅 Still, for the seemingly catastrophic damage it took in that tournament it still takes so much to actually knock it out of the fight. That shows that it's a very durable design, it just has flaws to iron out.
Yeah Vectors got some small changes that need to be made, and going against horizontals is scary. But yeah the design is solid, it doesn't go down without a fight and the newest version is even stronger, you guys will see in the next video!
Hello vector I am 13 and trying to get into bot fighting and don’t know where to find tournaments near me I live in Texas near Dallas and the closest competition is Houston. About 5 hours away. Is there a certain website you recommend to find stuff near me?
Hello! Yes their are a few websites you can try such as these: www.robotcombatevents.com/ www.buildersdb.com/events www.robotevents.com/map It can be quite difficult to find a event at times as they tend to be spread out, if their isn't one nearby sometimes you have to commute to one. But don't worry! These events pop up more often than you think and theirs bound to be one in or near the Dallas area eventually! And getting into bot fighting is awesome and its great you wanna get into it!
@@TeamVector441 stair climber wheels, two high speed 1 high torque, if applicable could make them as shufflers for weight bonus, will never get stuck. omni wheels probably best for vs huge like bot. One horizontal spinner normally after hit ricochets away, two counters that while having greater area of control that vertical an can get better bites
@@zzxxccvvkk5 That sounds crazy awesome! I genuinely looked into making a dual spinner bot towards the beginning of Vectors creation.
