The 2003-2004 Mach 1’s were RATED at 305 hp. They made more hp AND torque than advertised. You would’ve known that if you did the research. Right off the showroom floor they were dynoing at 302-303 torque to the rear wheels which means it was making a lot more than the 320 crank torque Ford rated it at
A well tuned NA Coyote engine is plenty powerful for most people. Forced induction guys are charging ahead in the straightaways at the start of track days. However, by the end of the day they become fewer and fewer. With the Mach 1, I take breaks only because I get dizzy going around the circuit so much. Those forced induction guys start putting those big fans on top of their engines for some reason. One guy had an ice reservoir under the hood he had to refill occasionally.
The Mach 1 was to replace the Mustang GT PP2, BULITT, Shelby GT350, and Shelby GT350R per Ford. An automatic Mach 1 has a faster 0-60 time than even the 350R.
Great vid , one of the more informative ive seen and I own a mach ..... i have to ask , whats up with the VP chassis number on the dash ? i've been looking at all sorts of dash tags because mine is a tooling car and has an abnormal tag .... VP001 is the only i've ever seen with VP, was that one of the first preproduction cars ?
Ford will never bring back the 429 as Chevy will never bring back the 454 big block and Dodge will never bring back the 440. All very good engines. I have stored back several of each to be built in the future
The BOSS name came about as Larry Shinoda designed it, naming after his boss, Bunkie Knudsen, who was also responsible for turning around PONTIAC in the late 50"s. Then he was gobbled up by Chevy along with Delorean, cause in the GM camp, you can't have anything better than a frickin' Corvette!
I TOO HAD A 69 MACH 1 MUSTANG WITH THE 351 2BL V8 AND NON-FUNCTIONAL HOOD SCOOP!...IT WAS A LIGHT YELLOW COLOR, BUT I WAS GETTING IT AT GOOD PRICE! MY PLAN WAS TO FIX IT UP INTO A 69 SHELBY, BUT UNFORTUNATELY MY PLANS WAS ALTERED BECAUSE IT WAS STOLEN!...ENOUGH SAID! I WAS LOOKING AT A USED 2003/4 NEW EDGE MUSTANG MACH 1 WITH PLANS TO SWAP A 5.O COYOTE 480HP TO 500HP AND 10R80 10SP AUTO TRANS AND IRS!...I AM JUST SAYING!...OR MAYBE I'LL LOOK AT THE NEWER 2021+ MUSTANG MACH 1!...WE'LL SEE! MEANWHILE, I WOULD LIKE TO SEE YOU DO A HISTORY REVIEW OF MY FAVORITE SHELBY SINCE MY HIGH SCHOOL DAYS, THE 69/70 SHELBY GT500/GT350 MUSTANGS!...I AM JUST SAYING!...GOD BLESS AMERICA! 😇
Give up the Dream and Ghost of Shelby Mustang, unless you are getting The SuperSnake, because that is the ONLY TRUE SHELBY MUSTANG, coming out of Shelby American in Las Vegas. Everything else with the Shelby Name is FORD Anyway.
The Mach E is not a Mustang! In 2005, they had the perfect platform to really bring back a true 60’s Mach 1, but didnt. I just purchased a 2006 Mustang GT and I plan to pay my respects to add 1969 styling to it.

Still have my 351 Boss in the garage, body was toast rusted out pulled the engine had it blueprinted and counter balanced. 3000 original miles.
Just talked to Chris at Shelby American and SHELBY stopped production of the Shelby GT500 in 1967.
Just a tip. The background music is too loud.
I've had to turn some gearhead friends onto your channel. You're really good at this.
Much appreciated! Thanks a ton!
I know it is kind of off topic but do anybody know a good website to stream new series online?
@Everett Tobias Flixportal :P
@Rowan Elliott thank you, I went there and it seems to work =) Appreciate it !
@Everett Tobias no problem xD

Good research, nice video!
The 2003 and 2004 Ford Mustang Mach 1 will always be my favorite Mustang. Excellent video. 😎
Yes! I like them too! Although I had a '69 351 4bbl car. Thanks for watching!

Jim, Thank you! I’m glad you liked it!
Gaaawwddd!!🔥🔥🔥 I think I'll take a 03 mach1 or the 2012 boss 302.
I DO like the latest Boss 302!
Goog over all, but the music is too intrusive!
Yeah, it's just too repetitive for such a short section of a tune. Other than that I enjoyed the vid!
Great video. Very informative. Love my 04 Mach 1!
You just made another subscriber - outstandingly informative video!

Thanks for watching! Unfortunately, I have no knowledge of VP chassis numbers. Sorry!

Good looking car but built with chewing gum and bailing wire. Another rust bucket and cheap trim.
