    I've had my Mach 1 now for just about 2 months and its my daily driver. I am really enjoying how Ford made the car easy to drive every day and then if I want to up the performance and handling a couple of toggles and I'm off. Great job reviewing the car.

    I'm considering a 2022 Mach1 with Handling Package and 6 speed. I had a 2016 Track Package Shelby GT350 that I hated and a 2018 GT Performance Package 1 that I loved. This car seems to strike a nice balance with the Tremec, Magnaride and coolers from the Shelby and the better ride, nicer interior and more street friendly and reliable Coyote 5.0. I'm 65 years old and the Mach1 would be my daily driver so it has to be easy to live with in normal daily driving.

    I'm not a muscle car or pony car guy. In fact, coming from JDM, I've had a slight hatred for muscle cars and the muscle car community, but this particular car checks all of the boxes for me. In my opinion it's impossible to not like this car. In fact, even with the GR Corolla, 2023 Nissan Z, manual Supra, this is the car is the car that I want despite that it's a complete 180 for me. Mustangs have been a dime a dozen in my eyes in the past but the GT350R and this car, are truly special.

      Did you get the manual? Just curious how much better it is vs the MT82. In Canada the Mach 1 is $15k more after taxes than a discounted new GT PP1 with MagneRide so it's hard for me to justify that added cost. And that's just for the 600A package and base wheels. With the 700A and handling pkg it's $20k+ after taxes. 🤔💵

And you are CORRECT, I have a non-handling package car (what Canada calls the Performance Pak) but it DID come with optional wheels that are black 10spoke just like the Handling Pack (except not as wide); I will never track the car, so the result is a car i LOVE to have on the road, smooth riding, powerful, magnaride is amazing!, ...and it doesnt have the low low front splitter or giant rear wing. Just a beautiful Mach 1 Premium, Dark Matter Gray, 6-speed manual (and unique wheels for 2023 - 275R and 255F)

    Ford really screwed up the Mach 1 pricing here in Canada. There is a $14k MSRP difference between an equally equipped GT 301A with PP1 and MagneRide ($54,200) vs a base Mach 1 600A ($68,100) without the handling pack. And that's before taxes or the additional discounts that you can get on a GT. No wonder they are all still sitting on the lots up here. For comparison, in the US the same MSRP price difference from an equally equipped GT 301A/401A to a Mach 1 600A/700A is only $4k-$5k 🤔

    Great review. Especially liked the "real talk" when it comes to owning/driving a sports car (suspension, clearance, vision, etc.) vs. a standard vehicle. My biggest question re: the Mach 1 is whether it can be used as a daily driver, and you answered that - yes, it can.

    • @JCTiggs1
      @JCTiggs1 3 роки тому +2

      Definitely can be used as a daily. If you have the handling pack though I wouldn't install the additional lower chin spoiler, it's just way too low for normal use driving around parking lots, speed bumps, driveways etc. And the Cup 2 tires throw pebbles up all over the place and are best saved for dedicated track days.

    • @JustinPritchard
      @JustinPritchard  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks!
      To me, for the dollar, I would be going with the Mach 1. I think you're just having more fun more of the time when you're driving on the street or highway. You can go through a few gear shifts without getting a speeding ticket.
      It's not as powerful but more accessible more of the time.
      If you were doing some weekend lapping, as a novice, both cars would be relatively approachable but the Shelby gives you more hardware to grow into.
      It's been a while since I've driven that Shelby, though I can't recall any complaints on the highway, relative to the type of car it is. I can tell you for sure the Mach 1 is ready for a highway road trip, it can be loud and stiff, or quiet and comfortable, relatively speaking.
      Hope that helps you line the two up against your tastes!

      @@bobreno4042 - I also love the auto rev matching in my Bullitt. The MT82 works great in my Bullitt and I enjoy shifting and using the clutch. I have had absolutely NO PROBLEMS . I’ve never experienced lock out in any gear and never had grinding either. Of course you can occasionally screw up when you are not paying attention and shift sloppy or too fast. I try not to bang my gears fast and shift slowly and the feeling is smooth. My experience with the Tremec is in the GT350. That transmission is more notchy and not as smooth IMO. I don’t track or drag race so maybe that’s why I’m happy with my car. I use it for regular driving only. Just cruise band love it. Power with great sounding engine and very compliant smooth transmission. It’s all subjective and I love driving this car! Plus it’s much cheaper than a GT 350 or Porsche.

      Bullitt is more tame in the ride / handling, more comfortable on the highway, and less stressful without the low splitter and front suspension noise during parking.

      My 10r80 is the real deal...BUT...there is something lacking and I think it's driver engagement.

    Ford overpriced this trim. You can save more money without sacrificing on horsepower buy purchasing a Scat Pack which has 485 hp. The V8 engines are approaching an end in the next few years. Ford needs to step up their game.

      Scatpack, chrysler is busch league. Can't get the car around a corner without major body roll.

    I just don't like it. Decals ? It's just ugly. And you have the prettiest one, the other colors with decals is even worse. 🙁
