@@madebykm Hi, I am using fertilizer, but my plants are now little but melting and looks unhealthy, and aquarium sand is becoming black from beneath, please help.
Please provide me with the following information : Are you using CO2 or liquid carbon? What is your tank’s dimension / water volume? What light are you using and what is its wattage? What is the density of plants in your aquarium? - High / Medium / Low Have you recently set up your aquarium?
@@madebykm Are you using CO2 or liquid carbon? : I am not using co2, What is your tank’s dimension / water volume? : 2ft x 1ft x 1.5ft What light are you using and what is its wattage? : I am using diy wrgb led light approx 22w What is the density of plants in your aquarium? - High / Medium / Low : medium Have you recently set up your aquarium? yes around one month thanks in advance :)
Thank you for providing the information. In a newly set up tank, it is normal for plants to melt. This is due to changes in environment / water parameters. Another reason is that the plant will transform from emersed (grown out of water) to submerged (growing under water) state. At this time, the plants need adequate amounts of nutrients and CO2 for proper growth. Since your aquarium has a volume of 22.44 US gallons, and it has medium density plants, you need to inject CO2 gas along with the fertilizers here. CO2 is a very important nutrient which is used in photosynthesis of all plants. So, here I would suggest you to use CO2. And it is also normal that the sand is turning black from beneath. This is because bacteria grow under the sand and also the dirt in the aquarium water is filtered and trapped under the sand. Another question I forgot to ask you, are you just using sand? Because plants will not grow well in sand alone. You need to use soil or use root-tabs under the sand. This is because many plants such as Amazon, Crypts, etc. (root-feeders) take more nutrients from the roots than they collect from the water with the help of their leaves. Sand does not contain any nutrients. So these plants can suffer from nutrient deficiencies. Also, the sand is usually so compact that the roots of the plants have difficulty growing and spreading and sometimes it can rot and melt.

Great video. I have a question about the white poder settling in the bottle, as you mentioned because of a chemical reaction. Shaking the bottle will add this white powder to the aquarium an settle down. Does it not accumulate and cause a problem? How about not shaking the solution or even totally ŕemove the settled powder, could that be an option?
That white sediment is calcium. This calcium needs to be added to the tank. After settling in the aquarium, it will mix with the soil, slowly break down and be absorbed by the plants.
There are 3 essential and important elements that plants need to survive - light, CO2 / carbon and nutrients / fertilizer. These are needed for both terrestrial and aquatic plants. If plants do not get any of these important elements, they will not grow properly and will eventually die.

If you use calcium carbonate instead of calcium nitrate, the nitrate will be lost from the fertilizer mixture and the plants will not get proper nitrogen from it. Also, calcium carbonate will raise both gH and kH of the aquarium water and the biggest drawback is it is almost insoluble.

My Java ferns are having black spots and are dying. My tanks are 2 month planted. A lot of my first plants melted and died. I replanted some days ago. I put 35ml of your fertilizer in my 100Gal tanks. I learned that Java Ferns need Potassium. Should I add more of the Potassium Phosphate? What you think about my dosage for the newly planted tank. Fertilizing is all new to me, as is using CO2. I had lots of Aquariums years ago and rarely used fertilyzer at all. Now all is new and I moved from a cold country to a hot counntry. My tank temperature is mostly over the limit of 28 deg and up to 30 deg. Two tanks have in addition a Paludarium section, the emerged plants grow well even some of the Java Ferns. I would be glad of some advice since it is very hard to find the issue why my plants are dying and there are so many parameters to be right or could cause a problem. Thank you!
First check if the black spots don't grow new ferns after a few weeks, the black spots could indicate burns, so reduce the lighting level in the tank. Java ferns require very low level of light, so too much light can burn their leaves. All the nutrients are in a balanced ratio in this DIY fertilizer, so there is no need to add more or less of any ingredient. The usual dose of this fertilizer is 5ml/10 gallons daily. So, dose according to the size of your tank. And let me know the dimensions of your tank, what light you are using and the lumens of that light. After knowing this I will tell you how much CO2 and fertilizer to add to that tank.

Most sources report that copper starts to become stressful to shrimp at about 0.03 mg/L (ppm). The amount of copper in my DIY Liquid Micronutrients Fertilizer is so small that you would have to massively overdose before you would begin to approach an amount of copper that is toxic to even the most sensitive animals. There is usually much more copper added by a water change using tap water than there is by dosing this fertilizer. Also, Copper is very rapidly utilized by plants, so there is no risk of attaining this level of overdose accidentally if dosing according to my instructions.
Thanks! Recently I have set up 30 gallon (36in L x 18in H x 12 in W) with Tropica soil, DIY CO2, Sobo Slim Bright light 32W, 3300 lumins, and Tropica Specialized nutrition. It's more than a month. I see twisted leaves from the beginning in couples of plants. Do you have any idea? Is my light enough? Thanks in advance.
If you notice that the new leaves are growing in a twisted, gnarled fashion, it is usually related to the problem of calcium or water hardness. In fact, calcium, magnesium and manganese deficiencies often coincide with low water hardness. Also, I think your lighting is not enough for this tank, 4000-4500 lumens brightness is required.
@@madebykm Thanks, bro! I am using can (RO) water. Recently I replaced with bore water for hardness. I will increase my lighting and see. Thanks, again!
Monopotassium phosphate is 1.42g? I'm from myanmar. I'm not good at english listening. Ur english is very well. But i cannot know monopotassium phosphate is how much is it?
Can I use potash fertilizer instead of potassium sulphate? Kindly answer. I have potash for garden use rest of chemicals i will arrange. Potash is likely potassium oxide
Tap water (boiled or not boiled) contains a lot of other minerals that we don't want in this fertilizer solution. So, I recommend using distilled water or R.O. water.
Is it necessary to add micro fertilizer along with this macro fertilizer? What will happen if I only use macro fertilizer? And what could be the dosage required if I dose my aquarium tank monthly?
For proper and healthy growth of aquarium plants, micronutrients need to be provided along with macronutrients. Micro-nutrients are used in very small amounts by plants but these are also important for plant coloration and growth. These fertilizers are designed for daily use. No liquid aquarium fertilizer can be used on a monthly basis.
I have been using for 2 years. It works really good. Thank you!~

@@madebykm THX for your fast reply. I have done a UA-cam playlist with short videos to show you my setup and problems.

My lights have 3346 Lumen. The top Paludarium tanks receive much less light because they are heigh up. 12 hours on. The lower tanks 10 hours on, the tank close to the trerrace front with more natural light. 11 hours the lower tank on the back.
I have morning sun on my terrace. Rollos are down by UV Sensor until 11AM. Option to add more light is very limited.

Bro. I have ordered everything through the link which mentioned in your description but for monopotassiumo i received something different. It says Imported Go-Green and brand is Farmcraft also it is is given same number - NPK 00:52:34 . So this the right one or different?
NPK 0-52-34 is Monopotassium Phosphate, it’s ok.
Can i use this fertilizer for houseplant using semi hydroponic method?
Yes you can
Hi
Is this safe for fish? Like guppies and platys? Your new subscriber here. Thanks.
Yes, it is absolutely safe for fish and shrimp. And thank you for subscribing to my channel.
You mention it has copper which is not safe for shrimp. Please clarify
@@madebykm thank you, my question is well answered
If it's a new planted aquarium setup when I can start this dosing process is it from day 1 or when dada
You can start dosing from the first day of setup.
@@madebykm thanks a lot bro

I used couple of red plants, they are not looking good at all.
The red plants need bright light, good fertilization and low nitrate levels to be truly red and healthy.
@@madebykm Thanks, bro! I am using can (RO) water. Recently I replaced with bore water for hardness. I will increase my lighting and see. Thanks, again!

Got some led strips and me and my friend making diy led lighting
Waiting for your next video ❤
Is distilled water mandatory?? If yes...is this the one we will fill in batteries?
Yes, that's exactly the one we use in batteries. You can also use R.O. water as an alternative.
@@madebykm Thanks bro
@@madebykm can we use boiled water for this purpose?
Tap water (boiled or not boiled) contains a lot of other minerals that we don't want in this fertilizer solution. So, I recommend using distilled water or R.O. water.
@@madebykm ok bro...thanks a lot
Hi I have only 3 without monopotassium so it will work? ?
It will work, but since the phosphate is being removed from here, the symptoms of phosphorus deficiency may appear in the plants later.
Can I add potassium nitrate ?"
If you add potassium nitrate instead of calcium nitrate, the calcium will be missing from the fertilizer.
@@madebykm okay thank you so much!
