    That cigarette butt method for diffuser is great. I tried both the methods of DIY Co2 using Jelly and this Diffuser using Cigarette, demonstrated in your channel, both are amazing.

      Power filters are designed to run 24/7. And if you use a small power filter (along with your main filter) for the purpose of CO2 diffusion, the small power filter should run as long as the lights are ON (i.e. 8 hrs. - 10 hrs.)

    Amazing & very lucidly explained Bravo 🎉 after watching I did it with yeast & agar combo, CO2 bubbles came out slowly..the piece of Porus wood worked as a diffuser.. recently I bought a nano glass diffuser with ceramic coating but in this DIY method it’s not functioning. I also added fresh dry yeast & sugar solution
    how do I make this diffuser work ?
    Pls guide

    • @madebykm
      @madebykm  26 днів тому

      A ceramic CO2 diffuser requires a lot more pressure to work. So you have to wait a few more hours, so that enough pressure builds up in the bottle and then the diffuser will work properly. Also, you can increase the amount of yeast from 1/2 to 1 teaspoon, to increase CO2 production and the pressure as well. Thanks.

    The third method i.e. power filter worked for me. I already had a small air pipe attached to my filter, so I didn't need to punch any holes. I simply connected my co2 system with the air hose provided. Although this way the bubbles are very slightly bigger, but definitely works. Thanks

      Yeah KM can we not connect the CO2 line to the air line in the power filter ? Like Swapnil has done ? So no drilling is required and does this give the same effect as with one where the hole is drilled and the L connector attached ?
      Sorry for such noob questions !

    • @maxwellf.7026
      @maxwellf.7026 9 місяців тому +1

      @@rajeevpandalai5248Connecting to the built in air line is not as effective as KM's method, as the bubbles produced will be much larger. Smaller bubbles result in much higher CO2 diffusion.

    Thank you for the video .just another question according to your experience. I use sponge filter and lots of water agitation on the surface so does the CO2 goes out of aquariım more faster ?

    • @madebykm
      @madebykm  6 місяців тому

      Yes, that's right. When the lights and CO2 are on, you can decrease the airflow of the sponge filter to reduce surface agitation, and at night or when the lights are off, you can increase the airflow again. Thanks.

    Awesome i have ceramic diffuser (had bought it b4 watching this video 😶) and i have a question, can i put the diffuser near hang on back filter inlet, it will suck up CO2 bubbles, dissolves in water and comes out from the top, only thing is will the CO2 escape when the water meets the surface of my tank ? Will it be useless or worth it ? Thanks love your vids

    • @madebykm
      @madebykm  Місяць тому +1

      Placing it near the hang-on-back filter inlet is a good idea, but the CO2 escaping at the surface might affect its efficiency. Keep testing and see what works best for your setup!

    I have a question. I have a sponge filter in my 10 gallon tank. Can i use C02 along with sponge filter. I have read about it that it removes the C02 from surface due to surface agitatio.
    If this is true, can i turn off my sponge filter for whole day while using C02 and then turning sponge filter back on at night?
    Or, will adding an airstone in sponge filter help?

    • @madebykm
      @madebykm  Рік тому

      You can run the sponge filter at night and use a small internal filter as a CO2 diffuser when the lights are on. Consequently, both CO2 diffusion and water circulation will occur at the same time.

      When I used regular cotton, the CO2 bubbles that came out through it were a little bigger, so I used cigarette filter cotton. But anyway, you can try using regular cotton and let me know how it works. Thank you.

      Use only 1/2 teaspoon of yeast. Also check out my DIY CO2 videos for more info.
