Thank you 😊
@@madebykm @Literally, OMG So much informative video, Genuinely Quality Rich Content
This is really unfortunate that this channel is underrated, aquarist caring for plants must watch this video. I too have started planted tank and obviously made this co2 generator for my plants.
Same ingradients packed in a pack and named as Aquario Neo DIY CO2 kit, that brand is selling this same stuff explained in this video for $30 and refils for $20. Crazy. Thanks a lot Kaushik. You are a legend as always I am following you since 2 years and in this aquarium hobby. Read a lot books, reddit, videos but no one is like you. You are the best.
Thank you 😊
I agree, this is the single biggest underrated channel. I really don't know why. Thank you to the creator. 😊
Thank you too!
Your solid. On point. No babble. Best diy I've seen yet.
This channel deserves more subscribers….
Thank you
I just came across your video as I'm considering adding co2 to my next Aquascape. Thank you for making an easy step simple DIY instructional video, I have found your video to be one of the best ones for a newbie like me to follow. I was always daunted by anything to do with co2 but wish to attempt a nice carpet in my next tank. Thanks again 😀
Welcome 👍
probably the best tutorial for DIY Co2 for aquariums.
this video is brilliant. if only there was a way of fitting a solenoid and timer it would be perfect for me, but I can't be there daily to manually turn it on and off
Good, easy to understand video. I use this for my 14 Liter Nano Tank. A very cheap and effective method to produce CO2. I don`t have a diffusor like your`s, I use an airstone hanging free in the tank. At day, when more CO2 is needed for my plants, I hang it down to the bottom of the tank. In the night, when no CO2 is needed, I lift the airstone to the water surface. So I don`t need to take the tube away every time.
This was the best tutorial ever on the subject! I’m glad I’ve waited to set it up until seeing your video! 🙏🏼
Glad it was helpful!
I just tried it for my planted tank. It works perfectly. It's 3rd day already and hoping for a longer supply of co2... Thank you so much.
Thank you for the feedback.
is it working gud
Where did you get the airline connectors and check valve?
Thank you so much, very informative. I am going to try to build this system tomorrow morning. I have all the materials. Thanks to you. May Allah guide you and increase you in both worlds ❤

Really brilliant idea👏👏👏👏👏👍
So nice of you
Great idea. Tried it and its running for the past 3 days and I am pleased. I liked your idea about just changing the yeast water once a week to make the CO2 generation last longer.
Thank you 😊
good morning Bro, after how long the bubbles start forming.
only yeast and water no need add sugar
@@rommelfronda831 you need a source of sugar because yeast consume sugars and create alcohol and CO2 as a byproduct, without sugar the yeast will do nothing
Man you are awesome. Simple and straightforward. Just subscribed :)
Thanks and welcome
Very useful and effective video. I am just going to follow your process blindly. Thanks a lot Kaushik. Keep it up. God bless you 🙏
Thanks a lot
I want to say first and foremost thank you so much for the video. I’ve watched tons and yours is by far the best! I want to make sure I’ve done this correctly. I’ve had it set up for a couple hours now and I’m seeing bubbles in the bottle with water in it (no bubbles are forming in the diffuser 😕). But only 1 bubble every 21 seconds. I’ve checked for leaks and I don’t have any. Does it need more time to build up co2? Or should I make the yeast water again with more yeast? I halved the amount of each ingredient because the bottle I have is not large enough.
Yes, it will take more time for the pressure to build up and then the diffuser will work. You don’t have to make the yeast-water again, just add more yeast to the solution, CO2 production will increase. For more information, please see the video description. Thank you.
@@madebykm okay thank you. Another question. Is there supposed to be water inside the diffuser itself? I have the claves diffuser
Is it a glass diffuser? Usually there is water inside the CO2 diffuser.
Channel ho toh esa..straight to the point.
Thanks
This is so well made, man. I’m finally interested at adding CO2 to my planted aquarium. It’s a 12 by 12 inch square tank. How long would you recommend that I keep the CO2 running each day?
CO2 should be supplied during the period when the lights are on. Generally, a duration of 8 to 10 hours of light is recommended for a planted aquarium. Thanks.
You've explained everything precisely and perfectly. But, i wanted to know one thing that jelly you've made with agar agar powder how long it's gonna last? Hats off to you and sincerely thanks. You're making significant impact on this community .
Please check description, thank you.

Can you please research on that same products from Aquario Neo DIY CO2 kit last for 50-60 days for 10-25 gallon tank without changing any yeast solution. Please reverse engineer that and make another banger video why its lasting that much and you can replicate this video in 3rd latest 2023 part.

Awesome bro, I did it and within minutes after I setup the diy, I got the co2 bubbles. Now I need to check how long it produces co2
What was the result, and where did you get the agar agar?

great videos bro, there are people who uses very costly products and endorse their own products and makes videos of half an hour long....and call themselves hobbyists...those kind of people also have subs in lakhs, and people like you have only 1.8k..what a shame....you deserve much much more.
Thank you so much 🙏
Yeah true...
One thing I noticed, in my experiences, is hot glue can sometimes fall apart when exposed to humidity for prolonged amounts of time, such as a DIY CO2 system… just saying. It may work for some people, and it is very useful for many things, but when water is involved it can become disintegrated or corroded, possibly causing a leak in the system. But I would just stick with the waterproof silicone to avoid that. 😀
Great tip!
Thank you for the information. I am going to adapt this to a grow-tent.
Best of luck!
Thank you so much for one of the best simple and in-depth tutorials I've ever had the pleasure to learn from 👏👀🙇♂️

Your chanel is very good for us. I wish you from the bottom of my heart...❤️❤️👍
Thank you 🙏
😱 this is amazing!!!!! Thankyou so much
thank you, How long does it take for CO2 to appear after pouring the solution?
CO2 will be generated within a few hours. The diffuser will function after adequate pressure is built up in the bottle. It is also important to verify that the system is entirely free of leaks to achieve successful results with this method. Thank you.
Very clear and well presented. Thank you!
Thank you

There are many DIY CO2 videos on UA-cam. But you are the only person who can provide complete details.
Thanks for the complete guide.
I am building this same CO2 system right now.
However, I have questions. How long has this jelly solution lasted for your setup?
The jelly should be replaced every 30 days. Thanks.
@@madebykm Got it. Is there a way to dispose of the jelly? I believe it is poisonous too.
It is not considered poisonous; it will only turn inedible 😝😄. When you want to discard the jelly, just squeeze the bottle, and it will come out effortlessly.
@@madebykm noted, thanks a lot. Hey, I just made this system today and it is working perfectly fine 😍
Great 👍
first of all, thank you for sharing! also, how do you change the content of the bottle (the yellow part that sits on the bottom)? or does it decrease (in terms of height) as it is consumed?
Every thirty days, the jelly needs to be replaced, and during that time, it will melt and crumble. You can easily remove it at that point by pressing the bottle.
Thank you so much. I followed it step by step. Co2 is getting generated but what ever I have done so far, the gas is not passing through the diffuser. It is passing through all other makeshift bubbling tubes but not the diffuser. Can you help please
First, check if the CO2 system has any leaks. For this, you need to entirely submerge the CO2 system (with the CO2 diffuser attached to the system) in a bucket of water. If you see bubbles coming out of any joints, there is a leak, and you need to fix it accordingly.
But if you find that there are no leaks in the system, wait a few hours as these CO2 diffusers need some pressure to work. When enough pressure builds up in the bottle, the diffuser will work.
Your idea is mind-blowing. Sudhu matro bangali ra airocom idea deta para
Thank you 😃
@@madebykm thanks to reply my comment 😊
Thanks for your wonderful video.
Instead of agar powder I used China grass after few day jelly getting dissolved with sugar+yeast water.
What to do in such case. Please guide❤
is it necessary for the bottle to be a soda bottle?
Thank you so much this was a wonderful video!
You’re welcome
Superb😍👌
Thanks
Thanks for the great video! I have a quick question, how do you prepare a new bottle when it's time to swap? Cause new bottle will need time to build up pressure too right? I'm worried about CO2 fluctuations here. Thanks again!
I always prepare the yeast-sugar solution at night, thus allowing sufficient time for the CO2 to be produced, and by the time the lights are on in the morning, the plants get the desired level of CO2. Thank you.
And I make a new bottle of jelly a day or two ahead of time, store it in the fridge, and use it when I need it.
@@madebykm Thanks you for taking your time to reply. That's good to know. I also have one more question, you said that we should change the yeast water (top part) every week for stability, my understanding is you keep the old jelly water part right? So how long do you keep that jelly part before you change them too? Many thanks!
I change the jelly every 30 days. Thank you.
@@madebykmHey just a quick update. I followed your ratio for the mix but I use a 2L Coke bottle so the mix doesn't fill up to even half way of the bottle. Do you think it will affect the pressure cause it has too much room left to build up pressure. I've been waiting for 12hrs yet I only see slow single bubble running out to second bottle. Second thing is my tubing run to CO2 diffuser is a bit long, should I try to move it closer like yours? Sorry for too many questions, appreciate your help man!
That’s crazy smart.
Thanks 👍

@@madebykm 2nd reply! Gr8 video btw, I'll try this method soon. I've never seen Agar Agar powder here in my country so I hope I can find it. Keep making the top quality content!
Sure, thank you
Sir thank you for sharing the knowledge we will keep supporting your channel.
Sir but my jelly is converted to liquid in first week but it is providing enough CO2 .
Did you use agar agar, or gelatin? Also, check the Description for more information.
ur a legend
Thanks
Hello Kaushik,
Thank you for this gr8 video, i hv prepared everything accordingly, plse can you tell me after how long the fermentation process will start and CO2 will be produced. It has already been half an hr and there is still no result
Wait a few hours, it will start. Also, see the video description for more information. Thank you.
Can instant yeast be used instead of active dry yeast ? Have you tried it? Or will it cause any harm ?
You can also use instant dry yeast.
@ thank you sir 🙏
Hi, I am new to this channel and recently saw this video. Very informative. You mentioned disconnecting when CO2 is not needed. Won't that leak the CO2 which is generated.
CO2 will be continuously produced in the bottle, so there will be no problem. Another option is to use an air stone at night to keep the oxygen level in the aquarium water high. Thanks.
@@madebykmis there any specific use of the check valve. I have a normal flow controller, can i use that
The check valve will prevent the backflow of water from the aquarium into the bottle.
Thanks for confirming 😊. Will post results once setup is complete.
Success!!! Thanks Kaushik for this amazing DIY . I used a cigarette filter as a diffuser.
Awesome ideas
Thank you! 😊
hello can we use gelatin instead of agar agar?
It’s reality a fantastic idea
But one question is there
When we don’t need co2 supply,we have to disconnect the pipe- thats ok
But how to stop the process of co2 building up in that bottle- wont it burst if its not released..
Please see description
Thanks for this great info. My ramirezi try to eat the bubbles of CO2 from the difusser, is not harmful to the fish? 👍
No, it’s not harmful at all. Fish sometimes play with the bubbles, they do the same in my aquarium also.
Thank You very much for this Video..
I have one question. how much time we need to run this co2 in 20 Gallon Aquarium with full plants ?
If I run CO2 for 12 hours will my fish die ?
CO2 must be supplied as long as the light is on. Even if you run this DIY CO2 24/7 there will be no problem. Just run an air pump at night to keep the oxygen level in the aquarium water high.
How much time to generate the co2 gas in the bottle ?
excellent vid brother
Thanks 👍
I need some advice , i made this today, but while putting the agar agar solution to the bottle , the bottle shrunk due to heat , i tried cooling the solution then putting it inside the bottle but if i let it cool for only 1 minute it will harden , after some complications i did put it inside the bottle , but after that i added the east water to the bottle , but its been 3 hours but there are no co2 producing, how long does it take to start?
It can take up to 24 hours for CO2 production to start.
@madebykm thank you so much for your answer
What happens if this puts too much co2 in the water? That's what I'm worried about because apparently it can kill your fish. Really good video btw!
The CO2 concentration above 30-35 ppm in aquarium water is toxic for most aquarium life. A single CO2 generator such as this will never produce that much CO2. Therefore, it is completely safe for all aquarium life. The CO2 production in this method also depends on the amount of yeast used. More yeast = more CO2. This means that you can easily control the CO2 production by adjusting the amount of yeast and thus get your required CO2 rate (bubbles per second) for your tank. You can also use a CO2 drop checker to measure the CO2 levels in your tank. Thank you.
can i keep the co2 diffuser out of the aquarium up and running (at night instead of disconnecting) when not in use?
Yes, you can put that diffuser in a glass of water.
@@madebykm thanks for your prompt reply. will do this whenever it is not in use because if i disconnect the pipe on night, then the next day it takes around 2-3 hours to build the pressure. so I think putting the diffuser in glass of water will help because next day it wont have to build the pressure. again thanks for the suggestion. you are a life savour as always
Hello Kausik, today i have successfully created the diy co2 system including diy co2 diffuser by taking the help from your video, but one thing i need to know that, how many hours i need to turn my CO2 on, i use to turn my lights on for 8 hours, can you help me on this, thanks in advance.
You can either detach the CO2 tubing when the lights are OFF or keep the CO2 system running 24/7 and run an air-stone at night or when the lights are OFF to keep the oxygen level high in the aquarium water.
@@madebykm okay, actually i do have fishes inside of my aquarium, i use to run a small sponge filter 24×7 with very litter flow speed, so in that case do i need to off that sponge filter while i am running the co2 or i can run both of them 24×7??
You can run both 24/7, but reduce the flow of the sponge filter when the lights are on, and increase the flow when the lights are off.
Good morning, Many many thanks kaushik, i wish all the very best for you..and continue your good work, your channel is really very very helpful to us..thanks again.
Thank you 😊

Hi sir. I have important question.
Thanks so much for your video, it helps me a lot.
1. How long (in hour) would you recommend the Agar-agar turns to jelly before i can put the yeast inside?
2. I've waited for 1 day, but the diffuser still didn't produce co2, whether glass or ceramic diffuser. Is this normal?
3. The yeast is leaking from the co2 generator bottle, how do i overcome this?
Thanks so much for your video again.
Great Diy. Can we use normal gelatin instead of agar agar? I want to do this today and my local shop doesn't have agar agar.
Actually jelly made using gelatin melts at outside / room temperature (25°C-40°C). Gelatin works well in cold environments (
@@madebykm Thanks. I managed agar agar...diy working in 6 hours.
