I would love to watch a video that describes the process you go through when you're deciding on a colour scheme and painting techniques before making a guide like this. You always seem to pick simple, effective and attractive colour schemes (with colour mixing), a streamlined painting approach, and interesting techniques. I am intrigued by this.

I have been painting minis for decades, back when citadel was all lead and made stuff for non-GW games. I’ve watched several of your videos today on models that I have no plans on ever owning or painting. Your narration is just really relaxing and the color choices you make are awesome and unique.
I've been painting for 23 years on and off, and I struggle with inspiration due to being a perfectionist which leads to long turn around times which is frustrating. This painting style is really inspiring. That wash you made was the first time I saw someone cover an entire model in wash and it is still looking nice and soft. Also they way you mix paints is really interesting, not used to it since I use citadel paints. It feels refreshing to watch and I'm really impressed with the result you created on these minis!

Funnily enough known as Rogue Trader, and early 40k (Which faded away for the most part before it started to come back more recently.) which gave us such gems as the Rarest Space Marine- Brother Craig (no seriously.)

I got me some gellerpox infected two years ago after this video got out to follow this tutorial. Stopped just before painting the bases and then kind of forgot about the whole thing. So just to start, indepndent from everything else just the little recipe for a paint thinner at 4:20. That stuff chainged my life and allowed me to revive a ton of dead paints too. It's absolutely amazing.
I agree with the other commenters. A common trait amongst the best content creators is colour mixing. I'm back into the hobby after years, but even way back I never was anywhere near as creative. So your thought process and approach would be cool. I have a primaris force I stripped because I wanted my own cool chapter... but I am frozen with indecision!

What an awesome paint scheme! With building, priming and basing included it took me not 2 but 4,5 nights to get them done but they look amazing. The colors are awesome and so different from most of the nurgle/deamon color schemes around. It just works perfect for these models. Also (and maybe even more important) I had so much fun following the tutorial step by step and archiving a very rewarding result. Very much like the way the tutorials are put up, easy to follow and very well explained. Thanks so much, you’ve got yourselves a new follower!!
@Midwinter Minis I find that a mixture of water, Hull red, and a brighter red not necessarily red orange almost race car red tends to work quite well for dried blood

I love how you starte the minis giving them a zenithal light and how you managed to keep the paint transparent enough to allow the zenithal to show all the way to the end...also my best compliments on the end result...really loved the colo scheme
That skin tone really was very impressive with the medium. I think I will be trying to make some of that myself. I do personally think the cursemite tentacles looked a little better green. Those large tentacles of the writher were perfect with the purple look. Great results once again.
This is absolutely brilliant. While I have zero interest in the WH40K universe (just not my thing), the painting techniques are easily transferable into whatever period grabs your fancy. That the videos are also entertaining as hell, is just an added bonus. Very well done, sir.

Bought these guys for their re-release on KT 2 last week, mainly because of watching this video 2 years ago! Really looking forward to painting them. Interesting how your basing technique has now been widely adopted as Slap Chop. Wanted to say thanks as my mini painting journey started with your BSF series, and now I have 2 fully painted 40k armies and about 5 kill teams.

The lighter flesh tone drybrushed on immediately made them look amazing. Also absolutely using the thinner recipe, that stuff seems like magic.
the thinner formula is pretty good. I could make it with stuff I already had lying around. Thanks!

That skin tone really was very impressive with the medium. I think I will be trying to make some of that myself.
I do personally think the cursemite tentacles looked a little better green. Those large tentacles of the writher were perfect with the purple look.

This is absolutely brilliant. While I have zero interest in the WH40K universe (just not my thing), the painting techniques are easily transferable into whatever period grabs your fancy.
