By the way, figured out the cooking oil popped up because i enabled the new dlc mid playthrough! - Ігри
In Ash Canyon, you can find the Technical Backpack which grants a permanent +10 weight capacity and a pair of crampons in a mine.
it's actually only 5 weight capacity not 10, carry capacity stack btw
Ah ok
U should clarify that this can be found in the gold mine, though its a bit hard to get to especially with the wolves and if you go in the wrong direction a bear cave
He would probably need to look up a guide for it.
Luckily there is a 2 part guide on how to get the pack and escape to Pleasant Valley.
Little hint on Interloper, going to sleep hungry lowers health, but You can go full day starving. Just eat before going to bed. Eat just the amount of the calories that is required to survive the night. Sleep will regenerate health lost during the day when hungry.
Collect cattails, it's great food for the first few days.
Note that this strategy is mostly for early game when You're struggling to find food. Once you are able to hunt and fish and know where to get loot it's better to stay fed for the well fed bonus
But a lot of this is up to personal play style preference
I never used the starve strat in my years of playing, just start collecting cattails as soon as you start the game can easily keep you out of starvation even in Interloper
Ciebie się tu nie spodziewałem Marek
ah yeah! its very cool how you can ration out food!!
THE LONG DARK LETS FUCKING GOOOO
Does that make you feel cool now? 🤔
@@BryanThomas-oh1roThe irony
I've taken a break to play pz but seeing this makes me want to return to continue working on getting the 500 day achievement. Have a 100 day stalker file and a chill 300 something on a voyager with a few bases stocked with gear and food. makes me want to boot it up again tbh, love this game to death!
@@HowDoWhatDoyou gotta try mods! They’re so fun!
YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
A little tip, if you come across a deer and there's a wolf nearby, get the deer to run in that direction. The wolf will be too busy eating and you can scare it away with a stone. Be ready to make a fire nearby so you can be warm and protected while harvesting it
Big, big heads up - if this is your first time playing, get the heck outta that zone lmao it's one of the most unforgiving areas in the entire game.
Light a torch and use that to make fires, it'll save matches in the long run. You can toss stones to catch the attention of predators, and it can buy you a little window to slip past them in some situations. It's a very short window though, make your move count. And also, double-triple check every corner of every building and point of interest you come across. There's always supplies and tools hidden around in the smallest spots you'd never think about. Underneath shelves, beside computers, even inside the little rowboats you'll come across.
It's a super fun game, even as brutal as it is. I would recommend you try and get the achievements for sleeping in a bearskin bedroll with fur clothing on, makes a good goal to reach during the challenge
i hope he is gonna go for that "fur achievement" , it could be one of the best and satisfying goals in the game
That's a really good achievement to go for, I really enjoyed my time with the long dark but I could never find a goal to commit myself to for a long play survival save. But I think I'm going to go for that achievement the next time I play tld. So thanks for that lol
Walk the doggies. They won' t kill you if you keep ahead of them. Use them to hunt deer. Don't fear the doggies. The doggies are your friends. In the end, the only thing you will possess is your doggies and an eternal solitude. ;)
Another good tip for dealing with wolves is with your torch out if a wolf starts starts following you switch to a rock, your character will drop the torch by your feet and then aim the rock at the wolf but don't throw when it gets close. 9 times out of 10 they'll get scared and run.
Oh man, please do turn this into a series. The Long Dark is one of those games I absolutely LOVE watching, even if it's not one I've played a lot of!
It's also insanely brutal so, good luck.
Always refreshing to see something but Zomboid (love it to death but still). And Lime cursor is adorable.
AYY I'm so happy to see you play the Long dark!!!!
I remember commenting ages back recommending it, I doubt you saw it but lets call it fate haha
Very excited to watch!
You’re finally doing the long dark? Good luck man
Ill def need it!
Usually your pretty unlikely to freeze to death indoors. But its possible in some crappier shelters. Once you get halfway decent clothes it should almost never happen if you are properly indoors.
Would love to see a series on this.
This is one of those games I like to watch but don't care to play. Thanks for the video.
It can be a walking simulator at times, isn’t for everybody.
Thanks for watchin ;)
I many hours in this game and love that you're playing it. Set up a home base in mystery lake and make it a central base if you want a big challenge and try to stack resources at the fishing cabin or hunters cabin, getting bow arrows and exploring the cool as regions for gear for harsh treks back to home base is next level feelings of accomplishment. Getting decked out in full fur clothing is also a bad ass feeling. Word to the wise meat should be stored outside and can let that shit ruin or rot but all you have to do is cook it and it restores it to mouldy condition so you can have food storage without having to constantly be worried about it. I have a side base in coastal highway at the Quincy Shop and walk outside if I need meat, wolves gather and bears roam in the immediate area wolves go down with one rifle shot to the head and one arrow to the face and the flare gun will scare everything in this game moose and bear included away even when charging at you also straight up have a shot at dinking the dome of what ever is trying to kill and one shoting it... have kill a bear like this and I laughed my ass off. (Named him Bart, get fucked Bart you were a crumby neighbor)
Disclaimer I play on staulker mainly and no guns on interloper forgot to mention
I would love this as a series!
Oh my god, *yes* I would love some Long Dark! I love this at least as much as Vintage Story (and I've played it more)! Nice choice, Lime!
Lets see this become a series.
So cool to see more youtubers trying out TLD!
I wish your vids were longer. You're so entertaining.
I'd love to see this as a series. Even if it becomes a series of tries. Like maybe you get 2 - 3 deaths before wanting to come back to it later. The long dark is such a bleak, stark beauty game with fantastic atmospheric vibes while the tough survival can make the smallest victories sweeter!
NO SHOT YOU ARE PLAYING MY FAVORITE GAME??? feels like a birthday gift hahahah hope you like the long dark, the community its small but very welcoming, and welcome to great bear island !
So stoked to see more TLD! Loved your Bear series on it! Thanks for the content!
duuuddee been waiting for this series since the start of watching, so hyped, love u man
Yesss more long dark series
YES!!! I have been waiting for somone to play this game! I absolutely love this game and this video is exactly what I needed! Great videos and keep up the great content! 😊
I died when Lime wasted no time snapping rabbits necks while yelling yes.
One of my favorite survival games youtuber and my favorite survival game. Hope to see more of this.
12:05 the most viscous scene I've witnessed in awhile
nature can be pretty rough for sure
hey lime I just revisited your channel after not watching for a few months and I'm so excited you're doing a series on TLD!!
Late afternoon is the warmest part of the day, barring storms and blizzards. Do your moves then. Find a hacksaw, hammer, bed roll and mag lens. They are critical. Keep moving and looting zones until you've made a bow/arrows/knife/axe and become more self sufficient. Don't lose to much health during the day gathering, keep an eye on it. You heal about 30% health in a 10 hour sleep. Keep well fed if you can for extra carrying capacity. If it's a calm sunny day and you see doggies and deer. Go get a dog and go hunting, costs you absolutely nothing if you have a mag lens. To scare doggies away from kill. Get close so he growls at you, hold a lit torch, press 2, drops the torch as it auto selects a weapon. Aim weapon/stone(left click) at doggie to aggro him. He'll rush you and then run away as he gets close to the lit torch or a fire. Good luck.
I'm so happy you are playing this!!! I love this game
Wolves can smell you and the wind does affect their ability to do so. If you're upwind of them, the wind will carry your sent to them . Stay downwind to better avoid detection.
the lone dark is one of my favourite games ever! excited to see you play it. :)
So it appears Lime has returned to Great Bear Island
Watch your back, Ash Canyon isn't you want to settle in
Watching people play Interloper without collecting cattails is PAINFUL
Very excited for the long dark series
ash canyon. my fav map. you can shimmy up the (left) mountain face to the house by the fishing post. then climb up and make your way to the lil village then mining camp for the tech backpack and crampons prolly a good jacket too
Hope you enjoy this game. Learning and progression is very rewarding, amount of content is dense too my homie. Love the content plus commentary keep liming (publicly Liming?). I can't think of a joke but enjoy that.
I appreciate it tons!!! Ive been enjoying it a ton recently!
I have almost 300 hours on this game, I only survived interloper for 2 days lol. Stalker I thrived in but I just can’t do loper.
So glad you’re playing this!
Hope you enjoy the series!
Longdark PC the day of the helicopter crash: "Who needs a hat, it's only Canada in Winter..."
Dunno if its an option in game, but IRL you're supposed to stew rabbit meat, especially if you're starving, as it means your body doesn't need to spend as much energy digesting it compared to charred meat, which takes more energy to digest than the meat actually contains.
Makes sense that you can keep in the calories!!!
I love the cold, but this is ridiculous. 🥶
I didn't watch the video yet but here's some tips:
-build fires next to frozen animals to protect you and harvest them with just your hands. And collect dozens of small morsels. (Click harvest and then cancel quickly.)
-don't panic when wolves are following you, i.e. don't run/rush unless you have a lot of gear. Try to drop heavy things in those situations, or drop meat/guts/rabbits to escape. Those morsels I mentioned earlier work especially well.
-when you first make a fire, make it fairly big in order to collect high-condition torches. You will need to make roughly a dozen torches in order to get 2-3 that are above 45%. You can then break down the rest or use them to practice fire making to improve the skill.
-store cooked meat outside your building* to keep it fresh for longer. To my knowledge no animals will take it.
*One that you enter a loading screen for. Fishing huts and open doorways don't count.
-travel light but collect everything, then drop it somewhere you can reach later. Take the bare minimum with you and scavenge what you will need/can get while you are out.
-this one is kind of exploitative, but if some kind of creature is chasing you, big or small, stand on something that they can't path to and they will run away. It's usually a really steep disconnected slope that they can't stand on, or something that you have to run and ""jump"" on in order to reach. Then you can immediately run away and they will not follow as long as you don't leave foot prints or have a strong scent from any meat.
Play custom or pilgrim in order to learn the map and some item spawns without consequence, and try some sketchy mountain descending from time to time. You'll discover that many places have ways to quickly get down that will save a lot of energy, as opposed to climbing a rope or walking around them. If you played Skyrim before, you will immediately understand how to go about it.
I almost got an aneurysm the last time you played this and nearly got to the best loot location (summit), but went somewhere else and died.
Find the train line..lots of good stuff to find...tunnels are great for hiding in!
I love this game, I'm an early backer. This plus zomboid were my first steps into more survival-focused games. More of it would be awesome!
Hell yeah, one of my favorite youtubers playing one of my favorite games of all time!
My favourite survival youtuber playing my favourite survival game 😅 what a blessing
That wild twirl when the wolf pops out hahaha
Been hoping you would play this!
damn my fellow citrus playing one of my favorite games of all time, good luck lime man
I love this game. Please play this more i would love that ❤
I love TLD. It's brutal, depressing, lonely. Like playing Cryogenic Winter in Project Zomboid with zombies off, so you don't even have the dead for company.
The only thing it's missing, imo, are mechanics for construction and farming (and for cutting down trees).
do a series! please! this game looks awesome 😊
Can we talk about the adorable custom mouse pointer?!
Ikr!!! Its ADORABLE!!!! A very close person made it for my bday!!!
So glad your playing the lo g dark. Keep it up
will do glenn!!!
Yes!!!! Love this game.. hope to see more about this game
Man I’ve been playing this game across multiple console generations since it first came out. Got almost 1000 hours. And I can still die in like 5 seconds on interloper
Man, remember seeing a gameplay of this game 8 years ago, I thought I dreamed it.
Hope to see a series n thank you PL
i love your content keep up the good work
Oh my God his scream at the beginning when he heard that wolf was so funny
Holy shit, I can't believe you're playing The Long Dark! This is one of my favorite games, I hope you enjoy it!
Fun fact, if you can manage to hold a direction in a blizzard, no animals will be out.
Aw yes the only game where you can break your leg going down a slightly steep hill
I personally enjoy the story mode for this game, mostly because I like having pre defined goals.
It's a beautiful game and chilling experience, I love The Long Dark
*wolf pack howling in the distance* lime is chilling and talking *wolf approaches super fast and barking at him* private lime visual goes flying for a sec and his heart stopped beating for like 15 seconds 😂😂😂😂
Thanks lime you are the man!!!
Please keep playing. I love this game ^_^
I started a playthrough on harsh river valley before. Spent 20 days there and loved the challenge. The PT ended up lasting almost 100 days.
dang that sounds like a good run!!!!
Okay, when hunting rabbits like such, line up your thumb to it. When against wolves the stone has to hit it on interloper. There is also a small chance if you run towards it with a flare or torch it may run. Hope this helps (my 900 hours and will pass on more if needed.)
my favorite PZ streamer playing one of my favorite survival games? Hell yeah!
didnt know i really really really. 10 Hours Later... really really like the long dark thank you limester
Yes, The Long Dark, gimme more!
You have to keep movig in Interloper (loper), especially at the start. There's not enough loot to sustain you in any one area. You're close to the entrance to Timberwolf Mountain. Try to get to the cabin on the lake there, then you can take the rope to Pleasant Valley and make it to the Farmhouse. Looting stuff along the way (especially the plane crash and the prepper's cache at the bottom of the rope) you should be in pretty good shape by then. Then your priority is getting everything you need to make a bow and some arrows. Start getting comfortable with not being at full health, because at least at the start you will never be full health. The start of a loper run requires a lot of high risk/high reward decision making. Until you're established, playing it safe and waiting for good opportunities is just as likely to get you killed as pushing yourself too hard. You need to find a middle ground.
The start of a loper run is tough, but once you get established it's not so bad. It may even be easier than stalker in the mid game because you have less wildlife to deal with than you would in stalker.
Also, learn how to daisy chain torches (light a torch, then when that torch is running out, use it to light another torch). Matches are hard to come by in loper, you just got lucky. I'm not sure, but I think there are guaranteed matches in that cabin now to compensate for how tough that spawn is.
I thought the prepped caches didn’t spawn on loper?
@@bcav712 They redid how the random ones spawn, so I don't know about those anymore, but the one at the bottom of the rope at the junction of Timberwolf and Pleasant Valley always spawns on any difficulty. It has much less gear inside than you would find on the random ones though, it's mostly just meant to be a shelter.
@@TheSuperhomosapien I hade no idea there was a static spawn for one there so thank you!
@@bcav712 No worries. When you get to the run down shack with the stove in it at the base of the rope, just walk up the little hill right beside it and you'll see the entrance.
I always enjoy some long dark.
Don't blame You for using a map. This Game is PUNISHING
Lime you truly are a masochistic gamer with all these game settings lately 😂
2 mintues in attacked by a wolf , seems about right.
Be interesting to see you try survive
I love your videos :)
Great thumbnail on the video that's a funny looking dog
Very fluffy :)
Maybe consider picking up the spray can? They can really help with navigation. Put a few arrows on trees & rocks so, if you're stuck in a blizzard or out at night, you'll know what direction you're going.
P.S. Please don't go to Mystery Lake - or at least dont stay in its buildings. Its the beginner zone. Its the equivalent of playing Project Zomboid and spawning at McCoy Lumber. Even at harder PZ settings, that'd be super easy, right? Same concept.
Watching this in the 44 celsius heatwave in Brazil 🥵
The mistake you made was aiming at the wolf with the stone.
This triggers an attack, just walk/run away.
AC is a good region, lots of cattails and there is a very good equipment to have.
Gotta love this great game! I just wish it becomes popular again.
Lack of map knowledge, experience and spawning in Ash canyon? I say a %7 chance of survival for most people
Crazy to think I bought this game and PZ ten frickin' years ago!
PSA
If you play on Survival and enable Endless Night
DO NOT enable Intestinal Parasites.
Potentially don't enable any illness.
Endless night seems to prevent any illness from being treatable, as the game doesn't think any days pass beyond the 1st, despite spending 60 days surviving and thriving until finally killed by Parasites and a mild sprain.
Oh god I love that lime cursor you have, where did you get that lol?
And a lil tip, in Interloper weapons such as guns dont exist if i remember correctly.
A very close person made it for me!!! Very grateful to have the cursor
welcome to Canada... you get used to pain here...
I love this game
Ultimate summer game
Welcome to Canada! Enjoy the ketchup chips
omg my fav game and fav youtuber
Whats up!!!!
I really hope you can get into the long dark it is such a great game.
Tryin my best!
@@Pr1vateLime A fun little challenge I recommend you try is how long can you survive in the first chapter of the story mode. The first chapter is basically a tutorial so it becomes a how long can I survive in the tutorial challenge. Can't remember how far my run got but it was much further than I thought.
Yooo I love this game! Tried the same difficulty a few weeks ago and landed on the exact same map. That map is absolutely brutal lol. I didn't survive. Word of advice, get the hell out of there ASAP
YEAH, its a rough map
OH no.... Lime played Interloper XD i commend your bravery lime man ♥
thanks very much!
Not is the one who's not a wolf a wolf, but the one who's a wolf - is a wolf.
