Small tip: the tab on the left is only a quick-crafting menu. There's actually a lot more that you can make! The brown tab on the top of that menu let's you see the rest of your recipes
would love to see you try DST speedruns (although learning resources are limited), I'm the moderator of the SRC board for this game and there's plenty of categories that could use some more runs if you'd like to give it a shot

Oh don't worry you'll soon get used to the game. I've been playing 56 hours and still can't pass the first boss! Would love to see more!
Armor is key, or kiting but armor is easier, with a few football helmets and or log suits you can be right to a campfire so he doesn't freeze you and punch him to death
Now the sanity drain is another thing to worry tho but you'll figure something there

If you're still struggling armor healing and sanity food can let you facetank him or at least kit between his legs if it's together
I have played over four hundred hours and I can’t get to summer
Dying of the dark when you have a precrafted fire on the left ready to be put down at any moment, that hurts
As someone with hundreds of hours in this game, gonna throw in a few quick tips -
1. Campfires are almost entirely useless, just craft a torch and set a tree on fire and it should last you the night. Later on when the nights get longer you can craft a lantern using a cave material which is basically a torch you can drop on the ground
2. Right next to spawn there will ALWAYS be a mosaic biome (the one with the weird patches of turf). It ALWAYS contains a) a graveyard along a path and b) a rocky meteor biome with tallbirds
3. All enemies in this game can be kites with some amount of skill - tallbirds for instance it’s 2 hits then run away. Some enemies (basic spiders especially) though can be stunlocked so keep that in mind.
4. Using a hammer you can destroy certain structures, which can give you decent amounts of advanced materials (especially destroying pig houses is lucrative)
5. With boards, cut stone, and electric doodads you can craft an alchemy engine which is used to craft extremely good gear that you can use all game. Focus on getting it on your first few days
6. Flowers are better left unpicked because they can spawn butterflies (which can be eaten for some health)
7. Check out DST UA-camrs (especially Jakeyosaurus) as well as the DST wiki for more tips :)

BWAHAHAHA, fell for a reed trap first minute. That thing's extremely rare and super beneficial for Wickerbottom, rids of the need for monkeytails for making a lot of books.

Oh and The pet rock always shows up in *Mosaic biome* which is always near spawn for early gold and rocks
Pets crafted from rock den are Immortal and can never die from anything and are just to be cute (personal fav is ewelet but steel wool is very hard to get)
one good way to survive is gardening because if you grow crops even slightly well you get seeds, meaning if you want to mass produce one crop, it becomes easier and crop combos (yes you can replace it with fertilization but it fertilizes itself perfectly fine along with toma root+potato being quite basic, they are also really good for heals)

Tip: Hammers can be used destroy things called Pig houses, which drop really good items. 2 of the things are used to make a alchemy machine allowing you to use stronger materials to make better stuff and the final thing the pig houses drop can be used to make armour and weapons

this is not the type of game you learn in 10 minutes
Fun fact you can in world setting set it so the spawn portal can revive you (for a hp cap penalty or not if you set revive penalty on)
Corvis goodfeather is the summer Cawnival event (you can put on any even ALL events on in world settings)
You should 100% try doing a all boss run well it's not much of a SPEED RUN it still challenging and takes skill and time management witch makes it fun I feel like its defiantly something you would enjoy.

I played that game and on my 10th try I was going so well I made myself a garden out of berry bushes I made farms, but then some dogs attacked me and I couldnt out run them and die then deleted the game lul.
