    Good video! Everyone should buy lockers first, then add all the other needed items! That Ford Ranger is a nice looking truck! Good jobs guys!

      George H I have a factory rear locker wand traction control which gets me most places I dare to go but sometimes it's just not enough to do it easily.
      Would love to add a front locker one day and when I do il be looking to challenge the ranger again.
      Thanks for watching and commenting 👍

      Michael T. Thanks for your reply! I know you'll get a front locker in due time and know you will enjoy the added benefits! Such a nice truck you have and again, a great video! Have fun on future trails guys! We use to get around in the old days with no lockers and all......and had fun trying to get places; and failing sometimes too...lol

    Hi Michael. I’d like to ask if you made just 2” susp.lift or did you make also a body lift? I want to make sure that I can put 33” 255/85 R16 tyres on my Ranger after 2”lift with no issue. Is the clearance big enough for 33”s , no rubbing during full flex , full lock etc..?
    Thank you for answer. Cheers

    • @brettjohnson1475
      @brettjohnson1475 4 роки тому

      probably too late now but yes 33' will fit, with 50mm lift, and go for an offset rim. I run 285/75 r16 on steel 16x8 with offset of 35 on my 2015 Ranger without flare kit

    With the rangers, when it starts spinning up, keep your foot on the gas, the traction control always figures it out and acts like a front locker, every time you made good progress, you always kept on the gas for a while why you were spinning

    FFS put a front locker in her and you'll be right......and the tyres aren't bagging that much, what pressures you running. Nice vid.

    • @michaeltoomer4090
      @michaeltoomer4090  6 років тому

      Cheers glad you enjoyed. A front locker is something I may do in the future. It's not a cheap mod and for most of my driving it's not necessary. Not often I tackle tracks this difficult. In regards to the tyres I had these at about 19-20. Any lower and I end up with bead issues. In fact 100m up front this section I did pop a bead on one of my tyres 🤦‍♂️. Since learned it's due to the 9" wide rims. Iv now changed to a 8" wide rim and wider tyres so can run lower pressures and haven't had a issue since.

    Great Videos. Just wondering where you got the rack on the back of the wildtrak where the tyre is mounted and rough pricing

    • @michaeltoomer4090
      @michaeltoomer4090  6 років тому +2

      Martin Kane the rack is a Rhinorack pioneer platform 1228mm x 952mm on a Rhino rack Vortex bar with RLT600 leg set.
      The platform is equipped with Rhinorack shovel mounts, Rhinorack eyebolt kit and spare wheel strap for the tyre.
      Also have modified Maxtrack brackets for the recovery boards.
      All up approx 1k.
      I also beefed up the support under the rollershutter tracks with angle and box steel due to the 25kg rating of the rollershutter tracks. I hope that helps and thanks for the feedback.

    • @datdawg2309
      @datdawg2309 6 років тому

      Hi Michael. I like that setup on the back. Doing the same for mine. Did you modify the maxtrax bracket from Rhino? Cheers

    • @michaeltoomer4090
      @michaeltoomer4090  6 років тому

      Terrence Van Nieuwkerk yes I did. The Rhinorack bracket is meant to carry Maxtrax below and above the platform. As I wanted the Maxtrax to sit above the platform I had to cut the bottom shorter and butt weld a new section on top to extend it. Hope that's not to confusing.

    what year is that land cruiser, most landcruiser's in the u.s. are independent suspension, which i think is much less rugged for offroading.

    • @michaeltoomer4090
      @michaeltoomer4090  5 років тому

      I’m not to sure about the land cruiser. It’s solid axle. That’s all I know

    • @sibij42
      @sibij42 Рік тому

      It's an 80 series, anywhere from 1990 to 1998 although by the look of this one I think it's 1994 or earlier. The US has 80 series landcruisers also but I think they were all petrol (gasoline) whereas here in Australia we had a choice of petrol or diesel.

      @johndonovan7018 5 років тому

      it has it. these cunts cant drive it. electronic traction control (powered by the brakes) cannot act like a locker. once you beach a wheel like that, no brake system can provide enough traction to that one wheel... but hey, who cares right.. lets blame ford and not the idiot behind the wheel
