As someone who watched a lot of award shows, this is easily the greatest opening of an award show EVER. Like, i adore Ricky Gervais at the Golden Globe but this is truly felt like it came from another planet
Phenomenal! What was also great to watch were the audience..especially as we could see before what they were discovering! Kudos to the audience at the end!
It's really sad how the Tony Award does a better show and honoring the nominees more than the Oscars. I'm more of a movie guy than a theater guy but damn, i'm ridiculously jealous how good the Tony Award shows are compare to the Oscars 😂
Everytime you watch this you notice more ridiculous details... The jump through the hoop and keep the verse... The "magic" trick, how he can still even sing is a joke... And follow it up with the ending, he controls the full thing Thats the small stuff... Watch the background dancers/singers, some of the stuff they do is crazy. The girl with the ball before he splits from the "divas" does a crazy dance and falls into the splits.. The kids part, Maltida stuff is fine, all done well but after that its in detail with Neil and the dancers, crazy amount of time must've went into that. The ending is just silly, there's a few misteps if you watch it but that's to be expected but in general its insane how they've got that many people to do a show like that on a massive stage. Probably the best performance from a large group that you'll ever watch, the detail and time that must've gone into that is nuts.
Googled because in the rap part I was like "did Lin Manuel Miranda help write this?" Yes, is the answer. I think I've spent too much time in musical UA-cam.
"If there's a newsie you prefer just let me know, you'll get a newsie in your gift bag when you go" aged AWFULLY

It’s exhausting just watching this. It must have been magic if he was able to run from stage to the back and still be able to sing. Bravo to all.
Nobody can host the Tony like Neil Patrick -- BEST EVER!!!! Thank you to all the talented singers and dancers for entertaining the world ❤❤❤❤
Still LEGENNNNN (wait for it…). DARY!!!!
THE Tony opening of all Tony openings! WOW!
Still absolutely mesmerizing. NPH remains a treasure, and the ensemble was awesome as well.
Can you even imagine work that went into that?! Even for a talent like Neil Patrick.
He is the best host ever
that, ladies and gentlemen, is broadway.
everyone looks so excited and happy to be there 😭😭😭
I had fun watching this opening number! Kudos to all who worked so hard to execute this, really amazes me NPH could memorize all those words!
that was amazing! he is uber-talented.
So fabulous.❤❤
Unbelievable ❤

Wow!❤
That is what it sounds like to "break a leg". This cast, broke both.

It’s 2024 and I miss what Tony awards openings used to be. Now it’s just bs
