I don’t know if you know , but your videos are much more than just cooking shows. I watch them to also restore a sense of well being. You are proof that goodness still exists and the humanity we believed in still lives somewhere. It sounds emotional, but the world is so bad right now, but here you are. A gentleness alive and well. Don’t change anything.
I agree with merrybrantly (above) you are a kind, friendly, good cook/baker/canner, the kind that is like the Walton’s style of homeyness, and neighbor like-friendly, that went on among friends. This is Christian behavior and we appreciate it so much. Plus you are, or appear/ relaxed to us as well. Even if you get fumbly, or are nervous, we don’t mind. We don’t expect perfection. You make us happy to watch what our relatives didn’t or couldn’t show us for whatever reasons. You are our online Christian sister. May God bless you for this act of kindness that you show to us❤
I’m so ready to take my bread maker out of hibernation and get back to making bread. Like you, I dislike the hole on the bottom of the bread maker loaves
I’m 74 and have never made a loaf of bread till now. Got a bread maker for Christmas. I tried the bread that came with the book, but now I am going to try yours. I sure hope it turns out. I love your videos. I like your style.☺️
Coleen you are so wonderful. Thank you for teaching us more ways to use our bread machines. Just recently I was thinking about freezing some dough, but I haven’t done it for over 40 years and I forgot how to do it. Thank you again for a very timely video. Don’t apologize for your chat, I think it’s delightful. Thanks again.
Thank you for sharing your recipes and all the information we need to make them! My mom passed away and she was the baker in the family as well as the canner of fruits and vegetables. I never had the opportunity to learn from her sadly and I have no one left to teach me. I’m so thankful I found you! 🙏🏻❤️🌹
Just like the others that watch your channel, I too am learning a great deal from you, so thank you! I have made your Basic Bread Machine dough with and without the Italian seasoning SEVERAL times, and each time I am amazed at the exceptional results - both in appearance and taste - and proud as can be that I DID THAT!
Ms Colleen Thank you so much for your help. I’ve tried a few recipes from other channels and they never came out right. You encouraged me to get my machine out and try it again and I did your recipe exactly like you did and it came out perfect. I was in shock after giving up several times. I’m so happy that I can now make a basic loaf of white bread plus because of you. Thank you, thank you. I love watching your videos now. You make them so simple and easy to do. Please continue to teach us.❤❤❤😊
I learned a lot from this video. Thanks Colleen. I found your comments about trying to do TOO MUCH as we get older on point. I remember working all day at my office and coming home at 5 to find out we were having guests for dinner. I'd have a nice dinner including dessert on the table by 6:30. Fast forward to 2024. First, I must admit that I'm operating with a serious disadvantage. I've been dealing with Lupus for a very long time and because of the disease and the side effects of the medication I take my memory is terrible and I don't have the physical stamina I used to have. Now I have to look up recipes that were previously just in my head, no look-up necessary. Missing ingredients can only be solved by taking all of them out and after I use them I move them to the 'finished' ingredients. Anyway ...... now it takes me many hours, sometimes days, to prepare meals for a company dinner. lol. It is what it is.
I am so sorry to hear that you have lupus. It is something I am very familiar with as my daughter has it. She is in rough shape and on dialysis everyday. We thought we would lose her over Christmas. I pray your lupus isn't as severe as hers. Best wishes, Colleen
Thank you for inviting me to visit your home and learn something from a friend, I have to admit I come for the bread machine recipes. I'm encouraged to use my machine & my MANY books, "I'm going to give this machine a workout- charge!
Colleen, thank you for your excellent instructions on making/freezing the bread dough and the successful way to thaw and bake it! I have been making bread for years but could never find anyone who explained this freezing/thawing/baking process as well as you did. I am hosting our family gathering again next week and expect approximately 35 people. This year I decided to do all the cooking. Last week I tried your method and baked a dozen rolls (after freezing/thawing) and my husband liked them better than my usual rolls that are baked fresh. So I now have 4 dozen rolls made in the freezer, ready to go! It will certainly make the day of my event go smoother. Thank you so much for your time and effort that you put into sharing with us through your videos. 👏
Momma Colleen Your videos always get me to click. I have made so many bread recipes because of you. Thank you for sharing and being a blessing. It's so relaxing to watch you! Thank you ❤ much love from ohio
Hiya Colleen. It is because of you I am now a bread maker! I purchased a bread machine from FaceBook marketplace and I use the dough setting and bake in oven. Thank you so much!❤❤❤
Once again I’d like to thank you for your videos. I can finally make Soft White Bread. And it is just as simple and easy as you said. I’m so glad I came upon your channel. I made my second loaf with milk instead of water and it came out perfect. I am so happy. You really made my day. I don’t see where you could donate to your channel. Please let me know how I could do this. Thanks again.
Ms.Colleen, I just wanted you to know. I so appreciate you and your willingness to make your videosa on bread making. You are truly a blessing and a mentor. Thank you so much. You are the Mom figure I didn't get to learn from. Being the youngest out of 11 children. I let life get in the way and didn't take time and have her teach me.😢 Again thank you ma'am 😊
On days when I bake my bread I’ll do several loaves let it cool completely then slice it and freeze the extra in bags so that I can just pull out what we need. It doesn’t take long to thaw at all and it tastes very good. Thanks for the freezing dough video. I’ll do that too so we can have freshly baked bread on busy weeks. I’m 58 with a family of seven that I feed every day. I also have a job where I don’t get home til 5:30 weeknights. Very busy with demands on me constantly and want to feed my family the most healthy food I can. I cook from scratch as much as I can. God bless.
Good evening Colleen from a warm 58* Tennessee !! Thank you for sharing this dough making that can be frozen . I’ve never saw this done !! Blessings to you all.
Thsnk you Colleen your bread snd rolls look beautiful and delicious !! I appreciate you making the video for us , your instructions will help us make our bread making in whatever form much easier !! God bless ❤️🙏🙋🏻🌈🌈
I have the same reasons I haven’t used my bread maker. The thick hard crusts on the bread, any bread I made in it. THANK YOU !!! for saying this. So far I liked watching you making bread with the dough cycle, because I never did this. But didn’t know why you did do. Again thanks!!! Yes I don’t want preservatives in my bread. I like the snap of the bread when I take a bite of fresh bread, so old bread is no friend of mine, only if I freeze it and it behaves like real fresh bread I’ll enjoy. I found a recipe for a copycat recipe floor Texas Roadhouse Dinner Rolls with honey, yum. I’m going to make the recipe in my bread machine and make the rolls like you show us how, and freeze them. Thanks. I just took out 10 1/2 lbs of beef from my freezer to make a canning recipe for burritos from Suttons daze on UA-cam. So I’ll be busy today and maybe tomorrow. I’m defrosting in cold water now.loved your video today as always, only better because you told us why you use the dough cycle, and showed us how to make the dinner rolls🤗🍞🧈🍯
I am glad I came across your videos, don’t care for the crusts the bread maker makes, gonna try it your way.very much enjoy your videos, you remind me of my Mom
Thank you Colleen for taking the time to make bread and step by step, with deliciousness on our table with ease! I had a bread machine for years and years when my children were younger. I wore it out and got away from dough/bread making. Keep on sharing your kitchen with us.
Many years ago a friend gave me her bread machine. I used it a few times, but didn't care for the texture of the bread. So it's been up on my top shelf in the pantry. I've recently viewed several of your videos and decided it's time to bring it down and just make the dough instead. Going to give the dinner rolls a try tonight for dinner. Thank you for all your tips and encouragement!
I have my paddle stuck in my welbilt bread machine for years. I found a you tube video to see if it works. The man tied a shoe string under the paddle and tied the other end to 2 gallons of water and had the water jugs drop and popped it out. We have tried many things so I am going to try this. I just got a zojirushi bread machine and want to give the other one to my daughter. Thank you for sharing your videos. I found out just using the dough cycle works great so you can take out and shape and put in a pan let raise and bake in the oven. I do enjoy your videos. I have been using King Arthur bread flour.
Great video ,,I never thought of freezing the dough I now have another tool in my arsenal,,Thank you so much for all the Great tips ,,I will at time make the dough into mini loafs and give away, everyone loves them and says how cute they are ,,,😊 Thank you for keeping things simple ❤
Another great educational video. Hmm, somewhat embarrassed to say my bread maker isn't working at the moment due to me not removing the paddle that leaves the hole in the loaf, when bread was stale I tossed it to the hens and never yet have found the paddle or found a replacement part 😁 yes pretty foolish of me. I meant to mention last video how nice it was you included my card, hope others send you cards from where they live as we all can see what a lovely town you live in. X
Thank you for your content/films. For others out there, one can find most, if not all, of the user manuals online. Type in the name, model, type and number... anything you can that is on the back of the unit or the box, and the internet will take you to the site and nine times out of ten it will give you a PDF that is always free to download. Cheers 🇬🇧
OH Colleen I watched your Hot cross buns video yesterday & yes made them today- HUGE SUCCESS here in my kitchen in Brisbane Australia. Thank you heaps Cheers Denise- Australia 🥰
I am so glad I found your channel. You make such amazing things with flour, yeast, salt etc. I have been intimidated by trying to make bread and you are giving me the courage to go forth and bake. Keep up the good work. Have a fantastic day.
You inspired me to try a bread machine for dough. My husband found one at a thrift store & printed out the manual last night. It was the breadsticks that finally convinced me.
That says a lot, our thanks to you, ‘for sharing your kitchen’, your kindness, your recipes, and your will to help others. You make it seem so easy. Got any canning recipes you can share with us? I’ve watched some of your canning videos. I like it that you show us what you do with the jar of whatever you canned to make something for supper. That really helps us a lot!
This video came along at the right time. I recently spoke with my daughter about freezing my own bread dough after buying some at the market for $4.99 for three small loaves. I have a good supply of all of these ingredients so there will be additional cost for me. I so enjoy watching your videos and I appreciate that you are sharing your skills with your viewers. ❤
I made the garlic bread Amazing!! Soft, and light. Also made the raisin bread perfect! I dusted off my bread machine and got it work while I made dinner!
Hello, Thank you for sharing this video with us. I've been wondering about this situation of freezing the dough and what to do afterward. You made this video, and I so appreciate it 💗. Have a great evening!
Thank you!!! I hate the holes in the bottom of my bread as well and I've never tried to just make the dough. Now I have the confidence to do it the old fashion way that is always so good! I want to make the rolls as well!!
I so agree with using just the dough setting. I’ve tried cooking bread in the bread machine and its crust is too thick and hard. I’ve learned so much from you and now I use my bread machine much more. Thank you!
I am learning a lot from u. thank u so much. I haven't been watching long so I'm hoping you will do cinnamon rolls soon. There is only 2 of us so I hope I can freeze them and make a couple when I want to.
This was a terrific video! Unfortunately, I don't have the freezer space to do this. For me, the biggest advantage in watching you do videos like this is seeing how easy it is to shape the dough and get it into the oven.
Hello, I am new to the channel. I have a bread machine and a bread machine cook book. I do not like any of the recipes 😢. I am glad I found you looking forward to learning how to bake and can. ❤
I am amazed how easy your recipes are!! Especially how you start the recipe when you mix the yeast/liquid, first, because the instructions in my manual pushing the importance of yeast is the last ingredient in no way should it be in contact with liquid. Thank you for sharing your recipes ❤
The rolls and bread look so amazing!! I bet your whole house smelled so good with the smell of fresh baked bread in the air!!! And as always you're looking so absolutely gorgeous Colleen!!😉 Thanks for sharing another excellent video!!! 😘
Coleen, A big thank you for this video. I have a bread machine in storage which I plan on pulling out and using it for the dough feature only. Like you I also do not like the hole in the bottom of my bread. 💖Can't wait to have homemade bread again.
Thank you for sharing how you produce the dinner rolls shape and spacing. I was one of those that asked about it. It's wonderful that you showed us so quickly.
@@oursilvermoments6028 Colleen, I have found all of your videos very helpful since I found your channel. I have been sharing them with friends and family all over the country.
Thanks for posting your bread machine bread recipes, can you tell the difference between quick rise and bread machine yeast. I also use quick rise and that’s because it’s sold in bulk at Sam’s Club. Please keep posting these bread recipes ❤️😋
I have watched at least 50 you tube videos...yours are the absolute best!!! Not only do you go step by step, you are wonderful to watch. Thank you for teaching in such an easy to understand way. I was a college professor for 25 years; I have learned the best way to teach is to show and take your time! I am now a subscriber and avid follower. I have been working with sourdough starters and would like some tips if freezing is the same or is the dough handled differently...looking forward to more of your videos!
Sandra, you wouldn't use the bread machine to mix the banana bread. Banana bread is a thick batter, not a dough and since there is no yeast it doesn't need kneading or to rise. It's easy to mix in a bowl with a large metal or wooden spoon. You can make it in a bread machine if you use a bread machine recipe. They turn out fine, just I suggest using the lightest crust, at least the first time. I'm sorry you didn't get on with the bread machine in the past. I found if I followed the recipes from the manual they always worked. My only fails were forgetting to put the paddle in or forgetting to add yeast. Some of my favorites were shaped like cinnamon rolls or pita bread and it's so nice to have an assistant to do all the kneading for me.
Hi Colleen, what a great video. I don't like baking in my machine either. Mine is a Zojitushi Bread Machine and is shaped like a regular loaf of bread and I really don't notice a hard crust when I made it in the machine when I first bought it about 20 years ago. I can't stand the holes in the loaf the paddles make so I never bake in it. I never thought of making the dough and freezing it. I do for a German roll I make, I save a piece of the dough (the size of one roll) and freeze it and add it to the next batch of rolls I make and again, save a piece of that dough in the freezer till next time. I have to look for the large bag you had the dough in. Does it matter what recipe used for the dough or can you freeze anything? Thanks for sharing all this great information. Watching in Pa. and love your video's, you are so calm. I'm 75 soon to be a year older in March and it's amazing to me that I can't do the things I use to do in a day now seems to take forever. Now I can stock our freezer with ready to bake bread, rolls and pizza dough. Stay well and safe.
I bake my bread rolls in my Airfryer and look forward to combining it with my Bread Machine doughs. Thank you for the inspiration! Best wishes from Sweden! 😇🩵🙏🙌🇸🇪
I don't have a regular cook stove with oven. Currently I'm using electric skillet, 2 burner hot plate, instant pot and larger air fryer. So what temp and how long do you set your air fryer? I'm really craving hot rolls.
I don't know what the other buttons do on the machine. LOVE this and totally agree! Thank you so much for posting. I've always wondered how to throw it in the chest freezer and use later. ~Lake Michigan, West Michigan
About the holes in the loaves, I take my dough out before the last rise ,remove the paddles, oil the parts the paddles attach to then put the dough back in. All you get for holes is 2 tiny ones.
Thank you for your video. I have a 35 yr. old West Bend bread machine. I bake bread in my bread machine on dough cycle because I don't like the shape of the bread or the hole in the bottom.
Good morning from Jackson New Jersey, my question is did you happen to right a step by step bread machine book for the people who like to have a reference to make bread 🍞? I’m new to bread making and I believe my machine looks like yours. And thank you so very much for sharing with all of us about baking bread with you.
Thank you Colleen for this video. Let me just say, you are an excellent teacher. I have learned so many things from your videos. We will be celebrating Thanksgiving this coming weekend and I was wanting to use my bread machine to make dough for our dinner rolls and freeze them for next Saturday. I think you said you let your rolls thaw for two hours and they were ready to bake. I know every kitchen temp is different, but is that about how long it takes them to thaw and double in size? Since I have been watching your channel, when I make bread next week, I am going to use the dough cycle and put it in a pan and bake it in the oven. Your calm voice and kind spirit helps me feel brave to try things with my bread machine. Thank you my friend.❤️✝️🙏🇺🇸
I also use my bread machine to make dough and have never baked bread in it. My recipe said to use dry milk in the water which works nicely for us because we can’t keep milk . Baking is the only thing we use milk for. I keep my yeast in the freezer and it works very well. I have never frozen the dough but am going to try it. Your bread and rolls look very nice.
I got a machine for Christmas. I’m so disappointed in the outcome. I’m going to try your method. 🤞🏻btw I love your channel. Learning from you is so easy.
Hello Colleen. First, thank you for explaining so clearly and plainly. It really helps for those of us new to bread baking of any form. Secondly, could you please clarify a step? Several sites and recipes say not to allow the yeast to mix with liquids, to add all liquids first, then flour and lastly the yeast. Yet, I notice you add yeast to the liquid before the four. Do you feel there is a difference for this step? Thank you in advance 😊
Thank you for taking the time to make this very informative video. If you were going to use this dough to make hamburger buns, how many buns would you make from this dough so that they would be the correct size for burgers? I couldn't tell if the amount you made in the video would be large enough or too small. Thanks again!
Missy Coleen. I just have to say you have changed my life. Appx 23 years ago I rcvd a breadmaker, tried and failed so many times its ridiculous. BUT, I never gave up hope of one day using it and enjoying it the way I wanted to. I'm guessing that's why I never got rid of it. I decided about a month ago to get it out ( once again) and give another go, found your channel and it's been amazing, the journey you have taken me on - - that I'm still on. Just did your pizza recipe tonight, loved it and was thinking I need to ask: how do you make banana bread with the dough cycle? Thanks so much for being you and willing to teach us all your methods. Sandra

@@denisebrady6858 Oh Denise, That's great news! I'm glad they turned out good for you. Best wishes, Colleen
I am so glad I found your channel. You make such amazing things with flour, yeast, salt etc. I have been intimidated by trying to make bread and you are giving me the courage to go forth and bake. Keep up the good work. Have a fantastic day.
Thank you! I have it down to a science now after years of repeating rhe same process. I hope it works well for you. Best wishes, Colleen
You inspired me to try a bread machine for dough. My husband found one at a thrift store & printed out the manual last night. It was the breadsticks that finally convinced me.
Love it!! Thanks for watching.
We love bread and the bread machine is my go to for so many things. Thanks for sharing your kitchen
Thank you! I hope that you have great success with the bread using this recipe. Best wishes, Colleen
I made the garlic bread Amazing!! Soft, and light. Also made the raisin bread perfect! I dusted off my bread machine and got it work while I made dinner!
Good for you! I'm really glad everything turned out so well for you. Cheers, Colleen
You are soo amazing!! Clear, direct, funny and such a joy to watch! I'm sure you answered those questions perfectly!!💞🙏🏼💞
Thank you so much ❤
Great video. Shared with a friend who is raising a family and time is always at a premium. Thanks 😊
Would love to see other videos without bread machine lot of people don't own one or have the space
Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom and experience! I just got a bread machine, and your channel has been invaluable!
I have learned how to make your english muffins and my family loves them. I make them about once a week. Thank you so much for that!!!😊
Enjoyed this one. For some reason I never thought to freeze the loaf flay, ingenious.
What a great video. Your instructions were clear and answered a lot of questions. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Beautiful dough! I have always resisted working with yeast but you make it look easy. Thank you! Thankful your emergency turned out well.
Thank you for sharing how you produce the dinner rolls shape and spacing. I was one of those that asked about it. It's wonderful that you showed us so quickly.
You're welcome! I hope you found it helpful. Best wishes, Colleen
@@oursilvermoments6028 Colleen, I have found all of your videos very helpful since I found your channel. I have been sharing them with friends and family all over the country.
This is one of the most informative ,useful videos I have seen. Thank you!
You're welcome, I know it was long so I appreciate you watching the whole thing.
Thanks for posting your bread machine bread recipes, can you tell the difference between quick rise and bread machine yeast. I also use quick rise and that’s because it’s sold in bulk at Sam’s Club. Please keep posting these bread recipes ❤️😋
Thank you so much I have used recipes and mixed by hand wonderful results love you lady ❤Theola
Thank you so much for your videos, I got my bread machine out of storage after at least 10 years!
Thank you so much, I have been wanting a visual of how to do this for a long time. ❤
That sound coming from the sink is most likely the vent....enjoyed the video...
It was my dishwasher draining...I didn't notice it during recording but I sure did during editing.
You must be a very good cook and Baker because every time I try your recipes it turns out thank you
You inspired me to get another bread machine. Waiting for it to arrive. Cannot wait to do the dough thing.
Colleen this is a very good video. I wanted the explanation of how to freeze and cook later and you have helped me. Thank you!
About the holes in the loaves, I take my dough out before the last rise ,remove the paddles, oil the parts the paddles attach to then put the dough back in. All you get for holes is 2 tiny ones.
That is interesting 🤔 thanks for sharing that. Cheers, Colleen
I love watching you make the bread I want to do this myself I have a bread maker I haven’t used it much but now I’m going to use it more❤
This is just the education I need with my new used bread maker
Great video Colleen. Thanks
Ma'am...many thanks for sharing your knowledge. Such a blessing to those wanting to learn to make delicious and nutritious meals.
You're welcome, thanks for the kind comments!
Thank you for another great idea idea for our bread machine
I also use my bread machine to make dough and have never baked bread in it. My recipe said to use dry milk in the water which works nicely for us because we can’t keep milk . Baking is the only thing we use milk for. I keep my yeast in the freezer and it works very well. I have never frozen the dough but am going to try it. Your bread and rolls look very nice.
Fantastic video! I just love watching you and your recipes are great ❤
I'm learning so much. Thank you
I love making dough in the maker!!!!
Thanks so much Colleen for all you share. You are such an inspiration. I'm hoping to make some bread tomorrow.
I got a machine for Christmas. I’m so disappointed in the outcome. I’m going to try your method. 🤞🏻btw I love your channel. Learning from you is so easy.
Thank you! I hope you find my methods easy to follow and that you have good results. Best wishes, Colleen
Thanks Colleen love ur bread recipes, I have the same bread machine you have. But I didn’t know how to use it until I watched you.
I made 3 beautiful loaves of bread today ... I'm glad to see you.😊
Yum your rolls and bread looks so good I’m going to have to make some. Thank you for showing us.
Thank you kind lady. I love cooking and baking. I’m using your recipes for my bread machine.
Hi Colleen, Thank you for this video. I've been wondering, how to freeze dough, out of my bread machine. Another great, info packed video.
Sandra
My reply went elsewhere so check above.😊
So there is hope...🙏🙏
Such a great informative video
Thanks so much
Wow you made it look easy. Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to trying it.
Thank you so much for sharing this. But can you do a wheat bread please and can we freeze it please I like wheat bread.
Love your bread presentations!
@@patmalone761 Thank you!
Nice!
Thank you so much for the guidance. I was interested in learning about freezing the raw dough❤️
This video was very helpful. Thank you Colleen.😊
You're welcome! Thanks for watching.
