I've always liked the theory that Crowley was Raphael. Raphael is the only one of the big 3 archangels (Uriel always came a distant 4th) not referenced in the story. When Shax says the miracle could have only been performed by the most powerful of archangels Crowley says "How do you know I didn't do it?"

Now, with the new director being (almost) announced, I don't think the 90-minutes-limit is set in stone. Could turn out that the director as well as actors/producers/TP estate/whoever finds that THIS must be wrapped up, THAT need to be included, THUS need to be elaborated thoroughly, who knows, maybe it'll be blown up to 120, 180 minutes or even two or three episodes...let's manifest!!!

@@BlackOfJuly Unfortunately I fear that the 90-minute-limit is already set, because of the movie format the BBC prefers, as they can easily integrate those kind of features in their program. Also the script will have this length. There’s probably no one who would like things to be different more than me. But that’s reality.

Here are some of my answers: Revisiting 1941 would certainly be fun; I'd love to see why Aziraphale had to do the apology dance! I do hope Nina and Maggie end up together, but it's not going to make or break the finale for me. It would be nice to see some of the s1 couples happy and fulfilled, too, like Newt and Anathema or even Leslie the delivery driver and Maude. I'd love to know Crowley's backstory, but since it's only 90 minutes, I'm more interested in seeing what their happy life together is like in the end.

Since NG seems to like twists in GO endings (body swap in s1; final 15 of s2), an the finale will probably use his plotting if not his writing, I have a theory that the Metatron actually ends up being a good guy, and the way he's characterized as a villain in s2 was to throw off viewers. Maybe we find out that separating A & C somehow protected them from a plot the Metatron learned about. I think it would intriguing.

As long as it's a well-made film with excellent acting and good music, an unhurried, uncontrived-feeling script and plot that stays true to the characters, resolves the Second Coming in a way that feels complete and mends their relationship happily, I will like it.

    Woo-hoo! First!
Ok, so apart from stopping the Second Coming and admitting their love for each other I hope to see a part 3 of 1941 where they dance to "A Nightingale Sang" and kiss.
I don't care what Angel Crowley's name was, but it would be good to know his former rank.
Definitely Nina and Maggie together would be nice also Furshax would be fun!
I would like to know why Crowley fell, was it just for asking questions?
My HC is that God has been imprisoned by the Metabastard and it was him who caused the Angels to fall and also it's him who wants to end everything.
Why are A and C so powerful together? Because they are in love! Beez and Jimbriel are the only others to have that power. The four of them with Adam will bring down Heaven and Hell with their combined power.
That's what I am hoping for in the "rescued 90" ❤❤

I hope they bring peace between heaven and hell, so humans aren't "messed about" (as Adam Young put it) by angels and demons and can make influence-free decisions and so angels and demons can be free to associate with any kind of beings they want and can just enjoy their existences without worrying about war. As for where souls would go after death, perhaps heaven and hell would become a joint venture and human souls could just exist in peace.

Looking back on S1, the two times he offers forgiveness to Crowley, he’s concerned for his safety at the bandstand, but on the street, it seems like it’s because Crowley doesn’t believe in him. I think there’s a few possible reasons for the post kiss I forgive you. 1 is the same, because he doesn’t believe in Aziraphale. 2 because he’s abandoning Aziraphale. 3 because Crowley kinda stole their first kiss. The possibility of wanting to kiss someone for millennia. Imagining that if/when they ever kiss it would be romantic and the start of a new era of their relationship. The beginning of them being together. And yet when it does finally happen it’s a goodbye. It’s forced and sad and anything but a romantic beginning. But Aziraphale said in the beginning of S2 that forgiveness was one of his favourite things. It’s forgiveness for that but in a bit of a fuck you way. It’s also an admission of love I think from Aziraphale in one way. But with a bite. With bitterness. It’s a how dare you finally let me know when you’re leaving me.
      Maybe.
Or. It’s an obfuscation and part of an act.

Let's say there is a time jump of an Earthly year. Shax might be established as Prince of Hell, and Nina/Maggie may/may not be in a relationship. No time really needs to be wasted on those lines. I would love a 3rd part of the 1941 time period. Did Az do the dance because he put himself in so many larger than average stupid situations that caused Crowley angst, or was it something even more personal to their relationship? There has been so many what-if scenarios thrown around the fandom about them taking the next step in some way (confession or physical) after they return to the book shop. Did Aziraphale overstep?

    • @BirgitPa
      @BirgitPa  14 днів тому

@netherfield2000 There are many fan fiction stories around Good Omens. Most of it isn't even speculation, but pure fantasy and a lot of wishful thinking. I've never read these stories, although they are certainly good. But they would only distract me from the existing story. And I think there's a good chance you'll be disappointed later if the actual plot differs from the fantasy. And it definitely will. I hope the production team can incorporate as many side stories as possible without the 90 minutes being too crammed. Personally, I'm more interested in the trips into the past than Maggie/Nina or what role Shax will play in the future. I would love to see Aziraphale dancing or find out who Crowley really was.
