- Here is the footage I got as we were in the Suez Canal in Egypt heading South. I saw something I never thought I would ever see which was rain in Egypt. Hope yyou all enjoy the footage...
Thanks for the tour. Great accompanying music.
Thanks and I am glad you liked it and thanks for following the channel so long
Another lovely video jeff I'd say a lot of ships pass through thare every day Thanks for sharing
Yes large convoys every day....Thank you AS ALWAYS Jim
Like
Much appreciated
I love the music
The music service I use I was able to download some Egyptian music sounds.
Very cool! Enjoying all of the new content lately. Im not sure if Maersk works with the union at all. Id imagine so, at least through some capacity. But id definitely like a turn on one of their bigger ships.
Yes in the United States they get their manpower from the unions but overseas it is different....
At about the 7.00 minute mark on the right side of the canal there were a group of structures any idea what the are?
I'm not sure I was wondering what it was when I saw it as well. Maybe someone knows.
Hey Jeff, love your videos. Looking to join the industry, can I PM you to ask questions?
You're send me an email and I will give you my number where you can contact me on the phone.

Good video Jeff
So glad you enjoyed it. In the video you can see where that ship was stuck before...The Evergiven
That Evergreen mural is nice and kind of funny. It’s almost like Egypt is mocking evergreen. Now every time the ship passes it will have to look at that mural. also I’m sure it was paid for with the massive fine they paid.
Yes it is really nice and I'm sure they paid for it absolutely.
It's highly unlikely that I'll have an opportunity to see Egypt, so thanks for the awesome video. Incredible!
I did another video in the canal before the Evergreen ship (Evergiven) was gone.
thinking of my grandfather, who was sailing this very route back in 1914 when his (German) ship was impounded in Eritrea and he was interned until the end of WWI.
Wow that is very interesting...Thank you for sharing and for watching...Much appreciated.
Cool! Thank you!
Thank you for watching
Great video jeff and good of them to put those monuments for the evergiven take care
Yes and I am sure Evergreen paid for it's construction I would imagine
Fantastic shots Jeff, made me feel like I was actually onboard ! 🇺🇸🇬🇧👍🍺
It is always fun going through the canal James....Cheers
@@JeffOnboard I did hear that the Statue of Liberty was meant for the suez, do you know if this is correct ? 🇺🇸🇬🇧
Have not yet sailed thru the canal but some years ago our cruise ship stopped at Alexandria then sailed to Port Said while a number of us drove to Cairo for an overnight trip. It was really cool when driving back to Port Said next to the canal to see ships on the canal that looked like they were sailing in the dessert. Thanks for that, and the commemoration of Evergreen's Evergiven stranding.
Thank you so much for taking time to make this comment. Yes I have been to all those places as well. Alexandria was awesome and inside the town at port Said is also pretty cool. CAIRO I also really like and of course. The pyramids and the museum of antiquities is amazing.
Have they improved the Suez pilot situation yet? Those guys seem to be screwing up a lot in the last couple of years. Is it because the shipping companies aren't paying the Suez pilots sufficient bribes?
I believe the bribes are no longer example giving cigarettes etc.....So pathetic
Cool music!
The music service I use has Egyptian music etc.....I love it
FROM WHAT I SEE HERE ABOUT EGYPT IT IS A HOT DRY PLACE. I ACTUALLY HAVE BEEN ABOUT 50 FEET FROM EGYPT AT ELIAT ISRAEL. WE WANTED TO GO IN AND LOOK AROUND BUT IT WAS NOT ALLOWED.
Yes it is a hot dry place
Music and video outstanding! Enjoy your trip.
The trip is finished. I am not able to post the videos until after I get off the ships.
It's amazing the number of ships that transit the canal.
Yes, it is a lot. It was nice also that I finally got a chance to sail around the Cape of Good Hope.
I drove across the Suez - would love to sail down it! 👍🏻
Yes it is always fun to see
what are those structures jutting out into the canal at 2:42?
I was wondering that same thing. Maybe someone else might know who watches this video I hope....I am curious also
structures that can be reassembled to create a pontoon bridge.
Nice insight into the Suez Canal transit👍
Thank you vey much for watching nd taking time to comment...
Looks like the Sun is being darkening
Yes naturally....It was nice to see
Why anchor halfway through the canal? is there a reason?
Some areas the traffic is only one direction so the convoy was going northbound at that time.
@@JeffOnboard neat! thanks man. bon voyage.
It's the officially defined crossing procedure. There are various videos about people making canal runs in cargo ships including some Jeff has posted. There's a point where they have the north and south ships pass each other partway through and they send them through in predefined groupings using shift work scheduling to manage the insane flow of ships through some hairy narrow areas that require really accurate pilot / driver work.
Thank you so much for adding info for everyone here. I appreciate that....
