a regular smegular day with me at work, doing day work and sea watch 0000-0400.
Along with me being a bit delusional: I really believe I seen a shooting star lol.

it looks like this is a bit old so you probably figured all this out but just in case the bigger ship that you get on the less a ship rolls. Get on the biggest one you can find and it will help. Also pay attention to the type of bottom the ship has. Stay away from those with flatter bottom. These are common in military boats that take in hovercraft and small boats. Not sure if these are common on the civilian side but they are horrible when it comes to handling seas. If it becomes a continuous problem check out some sailing channels. A lot of routes are like the pacific near the equator are known to be calm other like north atlantic are terrible. Sail boat captains really care about this and there are plenty of books an yt episodes about routes and weather patterns throughout the year.. You could try picking your boats depending on these and miss most of the really bad seas. Good luck out there and try to enjoy it. Don't seem like it now but 5-10 years after you are done you will find that you miss the sea quite a lot.

Yes, but not so much during a voyage. Wifi is limited depending on crew size and mb are used between each person.
