Episodes such as this walking tour are the quintessence of why Simon’s channel (and Andy’s, too) is hands down the best viewing/channel on UA-cam. I live in the Sonoran Desert of Southern Arizona and find these walking tours of the English countryside entrancing and mesmerizing. I will watch this multiple times over and enjoy every second. Thanks so much for doing these walks and filming them for us.
I live in hot, dry, arid Australia, looking to retire in mexico. Simon is my favourite as well. You guys couldn't have said it better. P.s. everything in Australia, especially while camping, either wants to bite you, sting you, kill you, or eat you.

I love the way you show us landmarks from the UK, which those of us in the US will most likely, never see. You then give us historical information about the areas you visit. Good Job, Simon! I love streaming your videos. My husband says "Put that bloke on t.v., let's see what he's doing". Thank you, Simon, for keeping us entertained.
Can't begin to tell you just how good this really is. Everything designed to take us along with you and what a fascinating, beautiful walk and camp it's been. The history, the glimpses of things that make you want to see more, the nostalgic music at start and finish... just wonderful, Simon. "Something to prod" made me laugh out loud. All my life I've loved the Brits and in you I see why.
I enjoy the camping/ cooking videos a lot even though I don’t like red meat! But I also really enjoyed this walking video too. Thanks for sharing, looking forward to part 2.
It is so good to see you out hiking again Simon. I like when you share details about the areas you pass through. Thank you for sharing - and that hot cocoa looked just yummy :) have a great one and stay safe. Cheers from Denmark :)
Great trail to walk, long but nice. Seems like a nice trip and good place to spend the night. Thanks for taking us along with you. Enjoy your time on the trail. God bless and stay safe on your travels.
Content of this caliber is so rare on UA-cam. I am so thankful that you share these places and these sights with us. Beautiful scenery, interesting historical information regarding the locations and sites, and the peace and quiet of the adventure. Another home run, Simon! So looking forward to the next installment. Take care and be safe out there! ☺☺👍👍🧡🧡
Great vid, something about the shot choices and editing here that really takes us along on the journey; you've got these vids down to a fine art, Simon. Lovely pacing, always look forward to your next jaunt.
Always love your hiking adventures. It gives us such a great look at the countryside/ocean side that many of us will never see. The work you do in the making the video is not lost on me either. Lots of behind-the-scenes camera relocations, etc. you make good movies! Thanks for taking us along.
A great video Simon, I was really pleased to see you doing one of your Norfolk walks, you really showcase the area, and how peaceful it can be down there, having gone on Holidays in the 80s and 90s to Norfolk as a kid it's always nostalgic, can't wait for part 2 👌
Thanks Simon 9.miles and I'm absolutely done in. ❤ You should be proud of yourself for making such good content and finding something interesting wherever you go.
What a treat for me to be sitting here where we had a 97F day and to watch your video of such a beautiful land and a more moderate temperature. Thank you Simon.
@@simonablokeinthewoods : I'm curious as to the reason for the terracotta tiles in the wall. Where they used as a capstone, then they just decided to keep building higher? Great video, I thoroughly enjoyed it, although a machete might have been handy on that overgrown section. Best wishes to you. Weather is hot and Sunny here, so you may be in for a treat.
No beers this time ☹ . Love it when you crack a can open by the camp fire . Great video though . East Anglia can look terribly bleak in rubbish weather. Like the leafy lanes though . You must be very fit to walk those miles , and with all the extra toing and froing for camera set up . Looking forward to part 2 👍👍
Sorry to sound like a broken record but another great video Simon🌟. Im sure you're aware of how much we subscribers really appreciate your videos and all the work that goes in them 👏👏. Can’t wait for part two! Many thanks mate.
The Sandy path was beautiful and lush. Roman fort is amazing, a third century build? Absolutely incredible! I don’t mind when your path takes you through towns and little bergs, it gives be a glimpse of your great country. I live in the US and have never been abroad so I really appreciate it. Looking forward to part 2!
I met some American tourists last week in Epping Forest and they were telling how they'd visited the Tower of London and staggered that it was a 1000 years old. I had a little laugh and then told them that literally 40 feet from where they were standing was an Iron Age Hill Fort around 2500 years old! Completely blew them away - sometime we in the UK don't appreciate what we have. Mind you, I still want to revisit the States and Canada some time 🙂

Nice one Simon. A very traditional hike and camp, could be centuries old, proper English spring, a bit bleak and miserable. No frills or spectaculars. Loved the fortified hot chocolate, well deserved. Campfire would surely have topped it off but I understand your thinking. Thank you for sharing your trip.
No one uses the heavily overgrown section after Sandy Lane, keep straight on Sandy Lane and eventually you come out near the pub with the for sale sign. It saves you having to walk on the busy road section.
Wow, so beautiful. Nice weather for walking but oy, the wind! That can be really tiring but you managed well. Your mix of hiking, canoeing, building and making keeps your videos interesting always. Thank you for your hard work.
