Calabrese Live @ Colorado Goth Fest 2024

I didn't want to have to stop recording only twenty minutes in. I adored what I caught from these guys! Three things made me have to end the recording and leave the show early.
first, that bitch in front of me who wouldn't put her phone down. I'm okay if someone gets there phone in the way for a few seconds every now and then, I. fact I do so myself when recording sometimes, but this shit was constant. she had perfect line of sight and had zero reason to lift her phone past face level.
next was the fact that this was the loudest band I think I've ever seen. it was blowing out my expensive recording equipment even with all the tricks I pulled out to prevent it. the only acts who have come close to this are HEALTH, Dead Register, and Ministry.
and lastly, I felt ready to pass out. the day before this show I went to work with only four hours of sleep. the day of the show, I got five hours and woke up at 6am, donated plasma, bussed all the way to Denver to do a photoshoot, and then went to this show to record all the bands for eight hours. I was about to collapse and while I regret missing the end of the set, I'm glad I put my safety first, eventually 😅
that said, I adored what I caught. I can't wait for them to come by, and I'll see y'all there when they do!
