Cameras for UA-camrs needs to be MORE of a thing. UA-cam and online video is becoming a MASSIVE market for people since covid has become so influential within our lives. More companies should take notes from Sony and make cameras like the ZV E10!
the auto face exposure is interesting cause that’s what’s been turning me off with other vlogging cameras. as someone with tan skin, i always have to find good lighting (especially indoors) so people can see my face but if this is gonna adjust the exposure to keep my face lit, then this might be the answer 👍🏽
The word "budget" is a pretty flexible term. I personally would not lable a 700 $ camera with no lens as budget but i guess when you make a lot of money and compare them to the other big names in the brand like alpha s 3 etc then 700 seems cheapish
I recently got the zv-1 camera and I love it! Change the stabilization setting to standard, it’ll zoom out more instead of it being super cropped. I have an unboxing and videos of this camera on my channel. Great compact camera.
@@mattih yep you can also use it for stills because years ago somebody created custom lens profiles for the occasion and I am using the 10-18 for my A7 bodies since than. It is a very convenient little lens. PS another hidden extra - if you unmount the lens just a little, like 1mm(it will not fall from the bayonet, it is still in and mounted, just not locked) so the lens lose contact with the camera you can focus really close with it :D. Like a hidden super macro. You can focus in it by tilting the lens forward or backward and by this the lens package moves inside. It is very interesting, almost like a cheap Laowa 24mm probe macro :D.
I still think the ZV1 wins it’s simple and way more pocketable as you don’t gotta carry a camera bag for other lenses gear etc. I’d say this is definitely good for starting youtubers though. For me personally if I wouldn’t different focal lengths I would just bring my full frame

Oh no the 360 cam. I jumped off a boat in Greece in the summer with the Go2 and it literally went 15 feet to the bottom. I could see it and attempted to free dive to get it but couldn’t. Thank fully my 18 year old son managed to get it from the bottom. Luckily it was Greece and crystal clear. Hope you get it back.
Still on the fence between m50 or just buying iphone 12 for doing aesthetic life vlogs. Now THIS comes along. Hey Matti can you do a comparison video, this ZV-10 vs Iphone 12 pro/max vs Canon M50 Mii? 😁 Would really help me and probably many of other people a lot. Thanks and fun content here luv it! 😄😄
It's not an upgrade. You don't get the slowmo in E10, it's an older sensor, non-stacked. More like a side-grade, for those who care about interchangable lenses.

Is that extension piece made of metal? If so you can get a strong magnet and some rope and probably fish that camera back out ... otherwise you could get a scuba gear and get it. I guess pending how deep the water is determines whether its worth it or not? --chris
Very good video Matti, but I don't need a ZV1 - E10 because I recently got the small ZV1 (next to my professional FX6). When I go on vacation, I take the ZV1 with me. It fits perfectly in my pocket and I don‘ t want additional lenses for holidays 🥴 best cinematic greetings from germany

Well an a6400 user this camera def doesn’t replace it. But it has a lot of useful features that do set it apart and could make it a good b-camera. I love that it has tally lights/red frame, active stabilization, and the microphone interface on top of the camera, and zoom rocker similar to the FX3. Speaking of I’d love if Sony would make an APSC version of the FX3/A7siii but I doubt that’ll happen anytime soon.
Nice review!! I think for this price this is a nice camera with pro features like s-log. However... 1. there is no talk about that in body IS can work together with lenses' OSS system or not (what Canon made it). 2. Active stabilization seems to be a "catalyst software" in the camera and works with a crop. 3. The jello effect is huge and this is a badpoint ot this camera. This should work much better for a camera which shows "moving things". But I think I'll buy one of it for a smaller price opposite the full frame milc bodies and lenses.

Is there any loss of quality when you use the Sony SEL1018 10-18mm f/4 on the Sony A7S or other sony full frame cameras. Does the lense become a bottleneck in any way for the 12 mm use?
Honestly I’ve been trying to find a good wide angle lens that isn’t insanely expensive and also smaller. For vlogging you need a wide lens but I feel like I’ll get tired carrying around anything too big. I might invest in this...
I am seriously bummed by this camera. It has a lot of cool features and the big censor is nice but from the reviews I have watched (and it is many), I am confused why people are not emphasizing the two BIG problems it has. 1) The rolling shutter is creating jello in videos - it is evident and horrible. How can a camera with a horrible rolling shutter be suitable for Vloggjng outside when you are moving around!? 2) The Active Stabilization has a huge crop, making it basically useless. You need to either get a very wide angle lens or a gimbal so you don’t use the Active Stabilization. Actually a small gimbal like the Zhiyune Crane 2 is easy to carry and can solve this issue. I would love to hear your comments on the jello from the rolling shutter. For me, it seems like a deal breaker. The other big issue that I mentioned has reasonable solutions but man that jello, it is bad.
Finally someone made a budget friendly and still high quality camera for vloggers and youtubers! well done Sony 🙌🏻

About the 10-18 :) if you remove the rear plastic baffle it covers from 12 to 18mm the full frame sensor ;).

No, but it just auto manipulates settings to get the best out of that particular lens. f4, 10-18mm can not achieve the same.
