Just found this video a lot of great info as always.. Going to be adding the intake only cams to my built gen 2 6r80 car with twins hoping to pick up a little power.
Can't wait to see how the intake only cam works on a gen 1 total na build 12.5:1 compression.....thinkin this cam will allow it to sneak by on 91 in emergencies but E85😊
Man I know this is an old video but I have a 19 gt 10r80 I been looking at the L&M cams. Would it be better to stick with the 18 manifold or is there any benefits to going with the boss? I’ve been under the impression this whole time the 18 was better than the boss but recently I’ve seen a few gen3’s with boss intakes. The rest of my car is just jlt cold air, 1-7/8 longtubes, 3” awe stainless cat back, circle D converter and a small shit it nitrous. Just trying to decide what manifold would go best with the L&M cams
@@philiperickson5182A guy here on UA-cam made 550 whp or so with these l & m intake cams. He had ported heads, cj intake, etc done also. Can't remember his name but he had a gray gen 1 manual.
My car is a gen 2 coyote fbo e85 (ported 18 manifold). I want to go with a centrifugal supercharger but in the mean time I want to squeeze a bit more out n/a. The comp cams stage 1-3 seem to hurt the power numbers on these cars unless paired with a cobra jet or boss 302 intake manifold. I don’t want to go cj because I want to go boost so comps are out of the question. Would you recommend doing the intake cams for my current set up and future boost? Also have you tested the l&m exhaust cams?
I want put cams on my 17 5.0 f150, but i don't know if l&m sells intake only for trucks, but i have seen cars that use intake and exhaust cams and lose some torque vs cars that only use intake cams and dont lose torque, so i think in trucks are the same but it's a little more noticeable the torque loss for the weight so what do you recommend?
Sure that cam is good if ur just luggin around town at 1000-4000rpm or racing stop light to stop light but if we are roll racing or launching the car at 4000-7500 doin that cam doesn't make any sense at all
Did you not listen to anything he just said? It's a stock stalled 6r80. The stage 3 isn't a good setup for this car. He said if you can keep your rpms up high and for all out performance the stage 3 are better but for the money the intake only cams are great and work killer with boost. Costs less too.
Thank you Shaun for that detailed information! Those l&m intake only cams rip can’t wait to bring in my 10r80 for tuning

My gen1 coyote swapped 3v has 12.5:1 compression and definitely can wait for cams but it’s a completely built bottom end
Gen1 mustang with built 5.2/12-1 with ported gen2 heads. 6r80 with a 2C/3.15 gears. Will the comp stage 3 hurt even with a gen3r with a 79mm pully?
Great video! Thanks for sharing.

for build motor Gen 3 twin turbo l&m exhaust, and intake cams will be better than comp cams for 10r80 ? for high boost 20+
What about for a stock GEN one stock converter what would the gain be With the L&m intake only
Gains would start at 5500RPM and the higher the RPM the more gains there would be. Likely for a stone stock car 15hp peak
@@aedtuning8441 yeah 15 not worth

@@philiperickson5182His name is Brian Scott I believe.
How would these hold up in a boss?
I second this question 🙋🏻♂️

Intake only cams all the way. HUGE gains with boost
STOCK OE exhaust cams with them
@@aedtuning8441thanks!
The l&w intake only cams are a good upgrade on a nitrous gen1 6r80 car?
Yesir
@@aedtuning8441 what would you all change as far as parts when changing intake cams? Chains, guides, replace phasers?

I'm sure L&M can do custom cams for your truck with the Intake Only lobes on the Truck core/firing order.
😎👍

The comps will definitely hurt you getting out of the hole.

The intake only cams had more power until like 6500...it had way more tq the comps were only up 15 from 6500 up
