I'll take a stab at what's done to this. Ported cj, 1 3/4 headers, no less than 12:1 compression, maybe 13:1, lightly ported heads, maybe hand ported even, custom cams (that aren't really that rowdy to be honest) and a tune, all through a manual transmission. I'm sure with rowdier cams 550whp is doable. Nevertheless this is extremely impressive and makes me want to coyote swap my old cobra lol
I made 496 sae correction (about 510-515 std corrected) on pump gas with my engine. Just picked up some custom spec’d cams, hoping to hit low to mid 500’s, and maybe see what some c85 or ftw purple can do.
I have a 2011 mustang gt automatic. Do you think the cobra jet will fit on my car? Trying to beat a Camaro. I lose on top in but I get out the whole pretty good.
@@midnight347 I know he had two s197s one was his and one was his dads. I know one of them had a gen 2 block with gen 1 heads if I remember correctly. Lund is better in my experience and I mean they hold records for a reason as well pbd is pretty close in performance but Lunds customer serve is great they reply like the same day you message them and I feel are more reliable for your car
You can get them ported at somewhere like Livernois motorsports. Or you may find a used set of Boss or gen 2 heads, but you will have to check compatability of the 2nd gen heads and cams(gen 2 and 3 cams have a different VVT actuator). Comp Cams now sells CR series cams for the gen 1(same as what goes in a gen 2 or 3 motor) They have more lift, so you'll have to upgrade the valve springs too. P/N 191-643-9 They're 237/235 Dur@.05" and 0.516" lift. This is what just went into my motor. Should be on the dyno next week😁
This is pretty much a max effort build at this point. Full exhaust, cats gone, cobra jet intake with a PMAS intake, ported heads, cams, and E85 tuning. You couldn’t really do much else short of boring out the block and making it slightly bigger. 530 wheel is pretty far into modded GT350 territory, so this is pretty impressive.
